Well I'm new to all this, I got interested because a friend was confirmed with cancer of the prostate(not good). so I started reading what I could do. well I got my aneros mgx last Friday and I've been open minded to it from the start. I've been using it around 3 times a day (a lot I know). more to get the feel for it than anything else. I was quite surprised to find how easy it was to use and that it did not cause any discomfort? not that I'm use to having things that end, though I did have an internal not long ago and that nearly put me off the idea for good.
well its day 6: I'm still not expecting anything amazing though I did have my first p-wave. wow, I did not know what it was to be fair. I'm having mussel spasms when I use it, did so from day 4. still trying to get my head around this "sweet spot." and the arm that is meant to stimulate it. I have read that you can alter the aneros but I'm reluctant to do so until I'm sure I've found it any ideas?
tried various things on the forum still no joy.
also I've got piles(external), dose anyone know if this would stop things going further? though I have read that this kind of thing can help. dose anyone have anything to add to that?
just for information ref: lube I have found that oil from ky was o.k. then tried water based from play and it did not go well yet ky water based is o.k. but I found that I did not get the same reaction(feel). so like people have already said take care!!!!!

Hi s1reece,

Welcome to the Forum,

I invite your to read ‘B Mayfield’s thoughts regarding the Sweet Spot (6th post in) and Sweet spot in the WIKI. Personally, I don’t worry about the exact “sweet spot” location, I think if you are stimulating the general area of this acupressure point on the perineum that will be sufficient to set up the neural feedback loop. I would advise you to refrain from attempting any modifications until you have had much more experience with your new toy and how it interacts with your body.

HIH (High Island Health, developer of the Aneros line) has also developed a uni-sex massager (Peristal) for hemorrhoidal treatment this model is also available as the Peridise on the Aneros site. With regular practice, I think you will find your new MGX provides improvements in your hemorrhoidal conditions as well.

Lubrication is a frequently discussed topic and most users have a personal favorite. I encourage you to try a variety of types to find one which serves your needs, the most important thing is to make sure you have enough to do the job. There is no need to suffer ‘ass rash’ due to insufficient lubrication.

Just thought I would add some more to help.
its not natural to have thing inserted into this area so:

1, Try to empty your self don't strain. then you may want to clean your self out with a small amount of warm water.
2, Relax as much as possible both in body and mind. try not to think about it to much.
3, Like a lot of people have already said try a shower or bath before or after you have inserted the Aneros.
4, Remember hygiene. yes I know, what comes out is not to nice but who cares. the truth is that what comes out is your waste and has been excepted by your body. so wash the Aneros first. don't put bacteria that should not be there in. I have been told that if you use lube that dose not agree with you, then you body will reject it (you will have to go to the loo and its not pleasant! 😥 )
5, when inserted try to relax and move around for a while, it worked for me as my body got use to the feeling in all positions and movement.
6, when you can hardly feel it its time to find a position that lets you relax. sorry to say that's something you have to find. me lying on my right side seem to work best as I sleep that way. this helps me to relax.
7, breath deep and when you feel relaxed tense the anal sphincter muscle only. this dose not require much movement nor effort. don't tense too much as this then pulls the rectum into play.
after around 30 seconds to a minute you should feel a tingle or throbbing sensation (its quite mild so you may notice it from a change of feeling down there) here's the trick, if you concentrate on it too much you will not be relaxed and it will stop. try to enjoy it and it will stay. deep breathing and relaxing and this will then get stronger and stronger. infact on the forth day it got so strong I had to stop.

I hope this helps you on your way. as I discover more and how to do it I will add to this.

I'm still not sure what I did to have a p-wave. will let you know when I do.

all I can say is don't give up. its an adventure.................

Excellent replies from the above posters. I might add that the Peridise units are excellent products and were originally designed for improving hemmroids. I had some mild issues with hems before using the Aneros products. I wouldn't worry so much about p-tab placement; in my opinion, the p-tab placement is a well over-cooked issue on this forum. For newbies, especially, it can lead to unnecessary anxiety. You can get to super-o territory with or without proper p-tab placement. Another great thing about the Peridise products are that they have no p-tab and thus no issues with p-tab placement. If you have soreness from 'piles', I would highly recommend the Peridise units as the p-tab can further irritate the perineum area especially for newbies. Don't ask me why, but it is well documented here that perineum soreness from the p-tabs usually goes away once you 'rewire'. If that is not an issue, then the MGX is probably the best choice to start your journey and one of my personal favorites in my Aneros ARSenal (please excuse the pun). Good luck!
