Hi all!
So having just resolved internal itching, I can finally get back to Aneros sessions.
Except no; I have a noticeable pea-shaped lump that causes mild discomfort when contracting the anus. Reading around a bit online, it's an external haemorrhoid that has possibly thrombosed.
I've already contacted the GP, but for now, I think I just have to wait for a week or two and hope it sorts itself out. (It can do, right?)
Aneros is probably a really bad idea in this scenario?
I think the cause of it may have been excessive contraction of the bottom. Doing strong reverse-kegals over a hard surface has encouraged the piles, for instance. Oh, and over the weekend I have spread the cheeks a bit too much, thus stretching/straining the sphincter.
Isn't this where the peridise comes in handy?
Oh really? What does the Peridise do?
The Peridise was designed to be a cure for rhoids. Wearing butt plugs is meant to be good for those also.
I'd get some over the counter cream like anusol, that usually gets rid of mine. The other thing to note is that the MGX, for me at least, because of the ridges on the neck, have irritated my piles in the past.
Unless you're experiencing unexplained rectal bleeding or suspicious change in bowel habits and stool size and shape or you're at an age where a rectal exam if not already performed is indicated for you, you don't have to go to the doctor for a simple thrombosed external hemorrhoid. They will usually resolve on their on with some hemorrhoidal cream or suppositories and dietary or other measures to have comfortable soft stools upon defecation. Actually, the using the smaller to moderate sized Aneros products helps these in my experience as well as many others on this forum. You might want to avoid using the larger Aneros products though until this resolves.
I have seen really large uncomfortable external thrombosed hemorrhoids incised with a scalpel and the clotted blood removed under local anesthesia in an effort to get them to heal more quickly but this is not often done.
Ah! Interesting regarding the Peredise or butt-plug. But…wouldn't inducing friction, even well lubed, just aggravate haemorrhoids? It's the reason why making sure stool would be soft and simple is important, iirc. (And even then, aren't roids at least partly caused by anal spasms?)
That's a relief to hear, Slimjim. The internet (and even doctors) vary in a small margin to what degree symptoms would be serious. I have two small piles forming, the exterior one is dark — so clearly a clot. But as you say, I haven't experienced any bleeding or pain passing stool. Just mild discomfort. (And even then, I thought nothing of it until touching it, and realising what it was)
Edit:
Oh! And to add, I do have some hydrocortisone (and cinchocaine) ointment saved from last prescription, so that should hopefully do the trick.
Anal stretching used to be an old fashioned treatment for piles. I think the point of using a butt plug or Peredise is to give your sphincter mussels something to work on to tighten things up.
Peridise was meant to be an anal massager and thus massages out rhoids
I noticed that I had a pea shaped one slightly inside the entrance. I sorta freaked out and just kept a finger on it (can't keep an eye on it). It didn't expand any further but if it does I'd get it checked out.
It did affect my usage with plastic toys; it hurt. Steel toys though, didn't hurt at all and probably pounded it back into the abyss.
I find E45 cream very helpful for the problem. I use it liberally after every bath / shower and massage it into my anus.
Yes, they used to use gentle periodic anal stretching to help treat hemorrhoids and anal fissures. I think that's how the Aneros devices provide the benefit they do in this regard.
