Hey Aneri-

I finally sanded my toys, and they shine, slip and slide like never before. @Kazama and busdrvr in particular are modification-minded too, so with their input I tried it (thanks, boys). I wet sanded with grit from 2500 to 5000, and after that I used an electric toothbrush and some Sensodyne for the final touch. Wow! They shine! Also, that weirdo stock moonstone texture is gone, and the toys dazzle. They're fun just to touch. I can't recommend it enough. Physical feedback is ratcheted up; it's a little like I took a leash off the toys that I didn't know was there. They really do travel better...they're free to move about the cabin.

Also, I vaulted into a new level of lube, too: tattoo balm. I have a little tin for my tats that my local artist bought from a supplier called Tatt Butter Co Inc, and when I was rubbing a little into one of my inks, I suddenly thought of, well, my ass (don't we all?). So I took another look at the ingredients, and what caught my eye were the quality and the lack of synthetics or petroleum.

Ingredients:
Yarrow Flower
Gotu Kola
Chamomile
Calendula
Aloe Vera
Wheat Germ
Comfrey
St. John’s Wort
Echinacea
Witch Hazel
Olive Oil
Grape Seed Oil
Bees Wax

Of course, I had to experiment. All in the name of science, of course. And I didn't think I'd say this, but it's better than Shea Butter. Shea's wonderful- it stays slick, it moisturizes, and I like the strange, exotic nutty smell and feel. However, the Tatt Butter is more user friendly, every bit as emollient, and thinner. Shea is like library paste out of the jar, and while I still love it, I have a new girl now. The Tatt Butter is mild as anything, a one-and-done application, refreshingly easy to clean, and feels terrific inside me later without being obtrusive. Finding a lube that does its job without being gooey or gloppy is a neat trick, but this is the stuff. I love it.

Dunno about the rest of youse, but I think a lube should give feedback, i.e. it shouldn't dampen contact or sensations, it should amplify them. Much like a low profile tire corners better--I want to feel the road, not float in shock-absorbed isolation above it.

I found some interesting tributaries leading from here as well. I discovered a product called 'the Butters*,' which is a product from a dude who runs a natural line of skin and hair stuff. He's pretty knowledgeable, lists all ingredients and uses, and he's got a sense of humor, too. So I ordered two butters, regular and cocoa butter. They're on the way, and I'll post an Aneros-specific review.

The regular ingredients:
Aloe vera gel, raw shea butter, pure coconut oil, pure extra virgin olive oil, pure grapeseed oil, pure palm kernel oil, pure soy lipid emulsion, apple cider vinegar, guar bean powder.

Someone mentioned on the site what a gentle, slick, lasting and effective sex lube it is, especially anally. Saw that, hit 'buy'.

Then I was lubing up my kitchen butcher block (not a euphemism- I really was) and when I glanced at the ingredients, saw 'food grade mineral oil, stabilized with Vitamin E, beeswax, and carnuba wax.' Also very user friendly contents without any contraindications. Hmmm...I think we all know where this story's gonna end...

So, have any of you miscreants tried these products or the like? I am totally dropping any intimate lube that comes from a corporate laboratory, period. I don't want -ens, -ethyls, or -exys in my ass, in my wife, or on my hand. We deserve the best, right? I want Mother Nature to come to daddy, as it were.

Cheers, and let's all enjoy some great non-friction.

Z

*Oh, that asterisk. I wanted to add that I'm not affiliated in any way whatsoever with anything I buy or recommend, ever. I hate being sold to, and I don't trust those 'I got this in exchange for my unbiased review' product shills. I'm just a soul whose intentions are good...

Heheheh, made me laugh after a hard day 🙂

Glad the shining went so well. Might steal the toothbrush trick. Makeshift power-tool and revenge on a housemate all in one.

If you wouldn't mind posting again once you've tried the Tatt Butter for a longer time, I'd be grateful. No purging effects or irritation in a few weeks, I'll have to try it.
At any rate with that list of ingredients your ass wont be getting depressed.

@Kazama-

Hork! My ass ain't gonna be getting depressed, no way no how! Thanks for the chortle. I'll let you know if there are any unwanted side-effects, but so far, it's been like that scene in Cars when everybody cruises on the new pavement. Low and slow! Ahhhhh.

"You got a date, baby!"

@JohnnieB -

Links so far:

For the Butters:
https://getthebutters.com (although I haven't used the products yet- I just dug the ingredients)

Tattbutter:
https://www.tattbutter.com

This might be a bit harder to find. They sell to individual tattoo places, and I haven't created an account on their site. They do have a contact link to their joint in Santa Monica, which I'll probably call. That, or ask a local tattoo parlor if they carry it.

Whatever lube you choose, go for what it lacks as much or more than the actual contents.
Good luck,
Z
