Forgot to clear bowels before using Aneros. Is that bad?

Today I decided to use the aneros but I didn't clear my bowels before I used it. When I took out the aneros, lets just say it was a really messy situation. Is it bad for the prostate if I use the aneros without emptying my bowels first? The reason I ask this is because since the tip of the aneros is making contact with the prostate, if there is any fecal matter on the tip of the aneros, wouldn't the fecal matter come in contact with the prostate as well and cause an infection/inflammation? I already have prostatitis and I'm not trying to make it worse by bad hygiene. Anyways, I learned my lesson!

NO, there is no need to worry, it is not going to cause any infection or damage to your prostate. Your prostate is not actually in your rectum, it is on the other side of the rectal membrane and your Aneros does not directly touch your prostate, just as you massage your muscles, not by direct contact, but through the intermediary of your skin. Please read the Preparation paragraphs in the Getting Started section of the Aneros WIKI. Though the rectum is usually empty of feces, it is quite normal for a little fecal material to remain even after a regular bowel movement. A rectal flush is not really necessary but many men do it just to reduce incidences of fecal contamination on their Aneros models. Good Vibes to You !

Rumel, I see that you responded to my post but I cannot see what you typed. I think it may be a glitch or something. I'll PM you

edit: NVM I see it now, after I responded to the post. Ah, that makes sense. I always thought that the aneros was directly in contact with the prostate. Thanks for clarifying!

Sometimes I can't see my posts either. I just 'right-click' on the mouse and hit 'reload'. That should help!

@onepunchman: It's only "bad" if it's a Saturday morning session and you ate a monster serving of popcorn during the Friday nite movie. 🙁

Honestly I never really clear my bowels before my sessions and most of the time my Aneros toys come out clean if I don't leave them in there too long (2-3 hours).

Clearing your bowels is generally advised, particularly in terms of less mess when removing the device.
However I found it becomes more important with larger ones like the Progasm because stool can potentially lead to bloated feelings that really get in the way.

Saying that, there can still be problems of stool forming during a session.

Are you sure about that rumel? Last year a couple of times my Aneros came out a bit dirty from feces. When I did a sperm culture that period, it turned out I had been infected with Enterococcus faecalis. I thought I had been infected during those Aneros sessions by the transfer of those bacteria from the rectum to the prostate. This was the reason I stopped using Aneros, although it felt really nice and I really needed prostate message because of my chronic prostatitis. I am still trying to find an official, correct answer to that question: can bacteria be transferred to the prostate through Aneros from another internal part? Thanks in advance for anyone who can clarify this matter once and for all.

@devito I'm not a medical expert...

But... do you poop? As in, have you ever pooped in your life?

If the answer is "yes", then the poop would have gone to the same place the Aneros would be... so that suggests that you would be getting constant infections.

I was under the impression that the most likely mode of infection would be that after removing or handling the aneros, which was in the same place where poop was, you forgot to wash your hands, or you just brushed part of the aneros with your hand without realising and then later on touched your penis.

Now, maybe (and I'm not a medical expert), the membrane between the prostate and the anal canal is thin, or maybe it's porous, so pressing a bit of poop between the aneros and the membrane causes some bacteria to penetrate the membrane... that might maybe explain it... but I didn't think that was a normal thing that happened during anyone's Aneros session.

@devito, I am sorry to hear that you contracted a case of Enterococcus faecalis. While I believe it is theoretically possible that bacterium could have passed through the rectal membrane via a minor cut or tear, entered the visceral cavity and then penetrated a vulnerable membrane encapsulating an organ of your urinary tract, I think the probability is pretty low. How sure am I? Well, I wouldn't bet my life against it but I'd wager a substantial amount of money you contracted this urinary tract infection through a more conventional path.

From the reading I've done this bacteria is a pretty hardy little devil, resistant to a number of antibiotics, so even if you were practicing normal body hygiene it is entirely possible a few microbes could have been moved via underwear, deposited at the tip of your penis, entered your urethra and migrated to establish a new colony somewhere in your urinary tract. You noted you suffer from chronic prostatitis which suggests to me this infection may have been present before your Aneros practice began but only flared up coincidentally. I certainly hope you have gotten the infection under control and can resume pleasurable Aneros use. Good Vibes to You !

Pure for Men ?

Has anyone given this dietary product a try? It's advertising 'guarantees' clean sheets and a vacation from 'time consuming clean outs.'

curious... rook
