Well, in just five days, I will undergo a procedure to my prostate. It will be a Transurethral Microwave procedure, otherwise known as a TUMT. This is the least invasive intervention (short of watchful waiting or medication) for BPH. My bladder only empties incompletely, and after years of Flomax, I really haven't had any improvement. My doctor wanted to do a greenlight laser surgery or a TURP, which have nearly a 100 per cent chance of retrograde ejaculation for the rest of my life. TUMT's are not as successful in curing BPH but have a much lower chance of causing retrograde ejaculation. The instructions are no sex for at least ten days afterwards, and I'll have to see how I feel about using an Aneros afterwards, there obviously being no medical literature on that subject.
I guess I should consider myself lucky. I have extremely low PSA, and actually my prostate is quite small, it is just that it has grown in an inward direction, causing a restriction in my urethra.
Once I have recovered, I'll post to let guys here know how the procedure affected my enjoyment aneros-wise.
Hey Hula,
First, blessings and best vibes going in. And, wishes for a smooth procedure.
Have never had any prostate procedure but a cousin is sort of a poster-boy for TUMT. He's has had several over a dozen or so years and gets 2-3 years of carefree living and 8hrs of uninterrupted sleep following each one. Is able to play 9 and sometimes 18 holes of golf without visiting a Porta-potty! Have never joined with him in a session of circle-jerk but he reports no issues so assume he's not experiencing retrograde.
Keep us up to date on your progress!! regards ...... rook
I had a combination of Green Light Laser and also some cutting done in June of this year. I did have some complications where I got plugged up with clots and had to go to the hospital where they installed a larger catheter and hooked me up to fluids to "backflush" my bladder and get most of the clots and loose pieces of flesh washed out.
I don't know if it is common but I did not have control over my bladdeer for a month or so. During that time I learned to keep a urinal in my car and also to never pass a bathroom without using it. I did wear diapers for a while when out in public.
I have not experienced retrograde ejaculation, but my urologist told me it was a possibility. He said it does not detract from the sensation of ejaculation and it was less messy and not a problem unless you are trying to get somebody pregnant.
I have not tried my Aneros yet but I think I am going to pretty soon.
Best wishes.
Good luck to you hula my friend. I am sending all the best wishes for a successful procedure and a speedy recovery.
i have bladder dysfunction for different reasons, but the symptoms are the same. i am addressing it with a cocktail of cardura and proscar. my urinating is much improved. i have a normal stream (though on the weaker side of normal), instead of pathetic. and i now sleep through the night instead of waking up 6 times, at its worst.
about retrograde, i take my meds at night. by morning the retrograde is 90%, while at night it is barely there. so i am experiencing it both ways. truth is, i prefer w/o retrograde. it isn't so bad, but it does feel better to have the old jism squirting out. for that reason, i limit my ejaculations to night. to be clear, it is not that big a deal. but, since i am in the situation of being able to choose one or the other, the choice is clear. of course, ejaculation isn't that important to me. it is mostly a way to finalize a session and put myself to sleep.

All the best with it hula!! And big jimbo and darwin!!
...and rook and Buster too!! T'is the season. I'm off day after tomorrow to the big city for a lithotripsy, sonic blasting of a big stone in one of my kidneys; a leftover from giving birth to "twins" stone this past July. Ah the joys of aging men!...
Best results and recovery times all

Thanks for the well wishing, and good luck to you, Artform on your pulverizing session.
Best of luck hula. Working with urologists as well as radiologists, I know from our discussions that you may have a couple weeks of down time, and possibly longer, depending on your age and condition. From what others tell me, even if you have retrograde "dry" orgasms, it's still an orgasm, with spasm of the muscles in your pelvic floor, seminal vesicles, and what's left of your prostate, and can be as blissful as you decide to make it.

Well, I had the procedure yesterday. They gave me valium and some other medication which was for pain. The doctor said I was an amazing patient in not complaining. There was definitely some discomfort during the procedure but not horrible. The worst thing is that they sent me home catheterezied with bag strapped to my leg for urine. The tip of my penis gets very irritated by the catheter tube. I feel a general soreness in my lower body, and sleep last night was difficult due to the catheter tugging on my penis every time I moved, but I am doing ok.
I understand the discomfort from visiting my father-in-law through his first and second TURPs and recoveries hula. All the best recovery.
My event was postponed by a snow dump and resulting highway closures, cutting us off from this particular big city. Rescheduling....
best all

Hi Hula, I am glad it is passed and the catheter/bag won't last long. Hang tough and you will be better soon!
72 hours post procedure, still wearing the catheter, which is annoying, but it is coming off in less than 24 hours. I feel great, just a little tired. I am so hoping that this procedure worked. I am taking every single antioxidant I can think of, so that the swelling in my prostate goes down quickly.
Glad things are going well. If among those antioxidants you're pushing you're including fish oil or omega-3 fatty acids, you might want to think twice, as they also inhibit platelet function/clotting.

Had the catheter removed today. The doc first filled up my bladder with saline, then asked me to pee it all out. I had a little trouble getting started, but so far today, I have had no problem urinating, and it is great to be able to walk around without a painful catheter sticking into my urethra, and no bag of warm urine strapped to my leg. Going back to work tomorrow. I definitely think I'll be ready to resume sex in another five days.
Great hula!! 🙂 🙂
Congratulations! Flow man flow.
Here in the Great White North we are waist deep in snow and more on the way, highways closed and my procedure is now in early January, as long as the weather co-operates.
all the best prostate health and the warmth of energetic joys throughout this holiday season all
