Hi all,
I wanted to see if anyone here received what I believe is a fake order confirmation email from Aneros? I got an email showing a confirmation of an order that showed my name, correct phone, and email as well as city, state, and zip — but no street address. The email was purportedly from @admin-aneros.com">info@admin-aneros.com. Previous emails I’ve received (marketing and support) were from aneros.com. The admin-aneros.com domain appears to be available for purchase, so I don’t think I could even reply if I wanted to.
I did forward this to @aneros.com">support@aneros.com as I’ve corresponded with them in the past.
Given this email correctly displayed my name, email, phone and most of my address, it concerned me that they may have been hacked? At least partially? Of course, now that I’ve opened the email, I probably alerted the sender that I actually exist...fortunately or not, my identify info was already hacked prior to and as part of the equifax hack, so my credit is on total lock down...but if you too received an email like this, I would advise looking into your credit history to make sure someone isn't attempting to do anything nefarious!
I got an email back from support saying their server experienced a problem, so the email was sent by aneros, but in error.
I received a fake order email this morning. Haven't heard anything from Aneros about it though. I'd imagine that the server "problem" was some sort of hack. Servers don't just randomly create new orders and email them to customers. Aneros should make an announcement on the forums to address this situation.
Also got one of these today.
Yup, I got 2 of these as well today. I emailed Aneros right away, as it looks like I might have been hacked, and they responded not too long after saying it was a server issue sending out old order confirmations. The problem is I don't think I ever ordered the products that were on these 2 emails. I changed my password regardless, and it might not be a bad idea for others who had this happen to do as well.
Me too.
