Hi guys,
I got my Eupho a couple of months ago and I love it but it seems like the finish is rougher than that of my Helix. I really enjoy the way it moves but after a while it really make me sore and I'm thinking if I could polish the surface some I could eliminate that problem. It seems to me that I read some posts on polishing the aneros when I first started reading the forum but I really don't remember who posted and when. I'm open to any suggestions as far as how to do it without damaging my Eupho.
Thanks

yeah, the mgx i got was super smooth, the helix had more of a matte finish and doesnt feel as smooth.

Maybe they are changing the finishes on them.

Anyways, how would you compare the eupho compared to the rest, i always wanted one, but it seems too expensive.

O’shea,

The thread you are refering to is this one – see http://aneros.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1652 for all about sanding and buffing your Eupho.

Hi O'shea!

I went the sanding route on a few of mine, as well!

I ordered the "Micro-Mesh Soft Touch Finishing Pads" from:
http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Finishing_supplies/Abrasives,_polishes,_buffers/Micro-Mesh_Soft_Touch_Finishing_Pads.html .

These pads give you progressively finer finishing grades from 2400, 3200, 3600, 4000, 6000, 8000 to 12000-grit. They suggest wet sanding, which won't clog the sandpaper, and it makes it last longer.

This site sells Guitar Luthier supplies . . .

It works . . . makes them slick and fast!

O'shea,

If you know of a store that sells automotive paint and finishing supplies, you may find this sandpaper there, as I did. They use it for sanding/buffing clear coat.

I do want to mention that if the issue is with a particular portion of the device that was not appropriately de-burred (something large enough that it cannot be easily sanded), then you might check with support and see if you can get an exchange. They wiil generally offer this for products purchased from this site. If the problem is more related to the overall finish of the Eupho...then the sandpaper will do the trick!
