Enema questions. Not eating before session?

Just wondering what yall are doing for prep. Do you not eat a certain number of hours before a session? Do you make sure you empty your bowels at least 1hr before? 2 hrs?

Also I've been trying to use a water enema (I use the Fleet Enema but with water) and sometimes it takes me 3 tries for the water to come out somewhat clean. But its usually not totally clean, so sometimes I'll do yet another one and it will be even messier than the last! There have also been times that no water comes out, and I'd have to do another enema to "make" the water come out. I'm just generally unsure I'm doing this the best way, any advice or insight would help a lot!

Normally do a lite enema prior to a session. If you do too heavy an enema you will end up with a mess! Just enough to empty the rectum - shouldn't take more than a couple small enemas. Doesn't have to be perfectly clear just empty the rectum of material.

yes sounds like you're getting too much water in or you're letting it pass beyond your rectum into your colon, possibly. If you lay down for your enema (which I do) don't lay there long at all, I get up the second the water is out of the bulb. I do a quick, light flush like 10 minutes or so before my sessions. Sometimes I'll wait an hour if there's something else going on.

For eating I always try to eat light. Fruit, veggies, small amounts of carbs, eggs. Yogurt too if I have it. I eat light light light! Meat and oils/fats make me feel bloated and I don't have the best sessions after any of that stuff, even a few hours later. Too much salt also makes me bloated; however, if you do TENS play (like I do) with your Aneros use, the salt can help electrolyte balance, which you need for the electricity to pass through your muscles and skin.

Good luck man!

@wontquit21 I almost never use enemas. Most of my sessions are in the wee hours of the morning. If I feel like a BM coming on, I usually wait until after that. That way, there is no "interference" and I can choose any massager I want. Works well for me!

I never bother now. I did try using a douche when I first began but it played havoc with my stomach and bowels and left me feeling as if I had the trots.

I should clarify that I'm mainly speaking of mess problems when using dildos, not Aneros.

For deeper anal play, dildo etc, I would always do a full enema. Might be worth investing in something longer with more capacity than a Fleet (which is what...100ml?). Even a long nozzle for a douche would help. Take it very slowly if and when you do.
As for eating, the timing will depend on your body. For me anything ive eaten 7 hours ago will have naturally made its way out. Anything eaten in the last 1-2 hours wont have made it far enough to be a problem. Its the times inbetween where i'd either avoid eating or eat light and trust the enema.

If you've eaten in the last 2-6 hours, a half-assed enema or douching can actually stimulate your body to empty itself. But in half an hours time or so! Much like some lubes can. The opposite of what you want.

As others have stated, for Aneros use an enema is probably overkill.
I'll have a quick feel up there with a well lubed and manicured finger, if the roads clear it's a go. (Obviously wash said finger very well after lol)

Very interesting! I think I might be putting too much water in. It doesn’t all come in the flush. But definitely, an empty rectum is essential for a pleasant experience. It’s annoying too when a lone fart decides to get out. I just relax and it escapes without pushing!

Well at least you know your pelvic floor is relaxed @Auditom, hahaa. It had been waiting days, plotting, for the perfect time to escape.

With regards to getting water stuck higher up, your position plays a part, as @techpump touched on.
If you douche while sat/squatted upright over a toilet, gravity is working with you, keeping water from going further up. Just make sure to tense your sphincter when pulling the tip out, if you want a further bulbs worth of water added. (Lying down for an enema is more comfortable though)

My prep involves having a BM and then clean up in a hot shower before sessions. I spend 20-30 minutes in the shower just relaxing the muscles and a bit of teasing myself. Inject a little lube and coat the toy and i'm good to go.

@Auditom : I agree with logik (and Kazama). Enemas are really not the way to go for a number of reasons. A good emptying before a session and the wonderful advice to relax in the shower are very good ideas. If you have a hand-held shower head, that can be not only beneficial, but...quite sensuous. Using enemas on a regular basis for any reason really ruins the rectal tissues' ability to respond to normal distension by stool and that paradoxically can result in stool retention (the Doc is talking here! really!). Also, forcing non-physiologic fluids like water or chemical substances into the very sensitive (vive la sensitivitie!) rectal mucosa (lining) can result in their being absorbed into the blood stream. I could go on, but I won't. Don't enemize! If a person is constantly constipated, using diet and occasional stool softener (fiber, etc) is the way to keep things moving and to make sure that when one empties before riding, there will be nothing to limit the exquisite movement of your device. And that's the truth! 🙂

@wontquit21 -

@Armon-neat, @logik, and @Kazama are right on target. Enemas are fussy things, although I too like things to be especially tidy before a session. In fact, if there's the chance for something unwanted coming out, I'll postpone the festivities. A few items on my pre-flight checklist:

1. Make sure some time has gone by if poss after you have a sit-down.

2. Light enema or flushing. Anything more and you'll get bloating, cramps, discharge, and general nuisance. That's because the water in the rectum goes higher if forced, and the stuff at the bottom of the colon barges into the waiting room of the rectum where fecal matter has been patiently biding its time. A little flush-- a shower, a bulb, whatever--is enough to evict the unwanted stuff. Use a finger to check, and if you encounter anything you don't like, flush again. I often do this 2-3 times, but you need to sit on the pot and give things a good push to make sure. Although I'd give yourself a few long minutes to walk around and make sure you're empty--sometimes I think I'm cleared for takeoff, then suddenly a stream of water drips out when I fart or contract a little. Good to have a washcloth handy.

3. When you feel pretty clean, lube up a finger and get your manly superhighway ready. That's my final precaution, and it'll tell you if you're ready. Moreover, being ready isn't just physical; some guys don't mind if things aren't perfectly tidy. I like to be triple sure, for my mind's pleasure as much as my body's. I also like to wank or Anerize when the house is nice and clean, and my clothes are elsewhere. Makes for fewer distractions, and a heightened feeling of 'nakedness.' Weird? Who cares. We're a weird bunch. It's part of the thrill.

Know what else works really well? I have Luxe bidets on our toilets (wonderful things, and healthier in all ways than TP), about $40 on Amazon. A neat fringe benefit from them is that if you dial up the pressure a little, and position yourself just right and relax, the water stream acts as an enema/douche sort of thing, and you can sit there and keep doing it to your heart's content. All the poop comes out, you feel clean, and you're in the best spot in the universe. Even more interesting and enticing, sometimes a few pushes to expel water makes a bit of pre-ejaculate or Cowper's drip out, which I find arousing.

I don't think a true enema is necessary or beneficial, although some people like them. I've heard that some people like putting things up their bums for fun, too, but who could imagine such a thing? As always, try a bunch of techniques, and you do you.

Best of pleasures,

Zenopause

@Zenopause Apropos your suggestions: Some years ago (!) somebody, who, by his own admission was a bit "anal O/C", commented on how after using Aneros devices (and the required lube of whatever type), he was "pleasantly surprised" by the absence of stool residue on the TP when he wiped after a normal run to the toilet. I have always noticed that...
