Edging and arousal

I seem to have a problem maintaining a state of arousal for extended periods of time without direct stimulation of my penis.

I remember some comments about edging but it seems to contradict advice that has been given by B Mayfield that one should avoid penile contact during an Aneros session.

I just wondered if this was a viable solution for attempting to "wake-up" my prostate. My goal is not an ejaculation, rather, I just want to encourage my prostate to a tingling point and then see where it goes. I usually start off my sessions feeling anywhere from not aroused to slightly aroused and yes, I guess I'm starting to feel frustrated since this seems to be one of the keys to success.

I have some porn, but most of it is on my computer, and I tend to have my Aneros sessions on my waterbed, which is 2 rooms away. It's a bit inconvenient to go back and forth to "recharge" my arousal. Fantasizing has little effect, though it could be because I'm very conscious of having an Aneros inside me and I have trouble not focusing solely on what it's doing and how it's making me feel.

So I thought maybe masturbating to the brink of orgasm might help me. I have a Helix and a Progasm but have favored the Progasm recently as it provides a much more vigorous massage and I'm hoping more stimulation is what I need. I realize that "less is more" and my frustration at not progressing much in my journey is probably inhibiting the process though during my sessions I just try to go with the flow.

Hi Justn_Otherguy,

I have used edging for quite some time. I used it more before I became Super Orgasmic. For me, I felt it helped train my body to hang onto that extended orgasmic wave without the need for ejaculation. I just experimented with it. In my opinion, it helped me. I got real good at it too!

It is your journey and only you will determine the combination that is going to work for you. I have read so many different things that work for guys. I say experiment.

I hope it gets you to where you want to go.

Buster

I'm also a newbee, since 2 weeks, and I understand your point of view perfectely Justn_Otherguy. Had exactly the same experiences which lead to a frustration after an hour of trying to get somewhere, especially without touching your penis. Until halfway my last session I decided to put my standard erotic feelings (sensations you get when watching porn ect) aside, almost forget about it, not picture a hot chick or things that arouse me in the 'standard' way. I just tried to focus on the surroundings of the aneros in a very physical-psychological way, and tried to get a grip on different muscle contractions and the effects down there. It didn't bring me to an orgasm to say so, it was only my 6th session, but gave me some new feelings I never felt before.

My arousal comes in waves. After the deep breathing and relaxation period when the aneros device feels more mobile than right after insertion, I try to start the arousal process and get anal contractions started. Sometimes it is just the anticipation of what will follow that does it. Other times it is an erotic thought or nipple stimulation.

Try this technique: Spread the fingers of both hands and place the finger tips ever so gently on the abdomen just above where your pubic hair ends. As lightly as you can, drag the fingers slowly up you abdomen to your chest and your nipples. If you are hairy, try to just barely touch the hairs. For me, this sends what feels like an electric wave right up my body following my fingertips. I don't touch my nipples. After about five of these, my nipples are fully erect and crying out for stimulation. I also try to start anal contractions at the same time. As others have already said, experiment and find out what works for you.

Before my first Super O, my major problem after getting anal contractions going was controlling the stimulation. I would get so excited that the contractions would stop when fully retracted and would kill the whole process. What I finally discovered was that this didn't matter. If you get to this point just stop the contractions through deep breathing and relaxation. Just enjoy where you are at for about 5 minutes or so. Kind of a cool down period. Then start the whole process over again. I do this by starting manual contractions at a very low level and trying to feel exactly when the aneros starts to press the rectal wall against the prostate. Then I try to get the anal contractions going again and control them with deep breathing. Sometimes I had to repeat this arousal wave riding, 5 times or more before crossing over into Super O territory. Now it usually happens on the first wave unless I am tired or haven't had much time off between sessions. Since my first Super O, this technique has NEVER failed.

As I have mentioned in some of my other posts the crossover into Super O territory for me, is usually pretty subtle. The really sure indication for me, is that I get a warm feeling in my rectum and all of the muscles in that area totally relax. I have tried on occasion, to start manual contractions just to see what would happen. I cannot get prostate stimulation even with a full contraction in this relaxed state. However, about 2 minutes later its an entirely different story and it takes very few contractions to be off on the journey to the first or many orgasms.

Porn doesn't do much for me during the actual process I only use it to set the stage before insertion. After that I focus on the feelings my body in generating and how good they are.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the responses.

I have made some progress, but I guess I'm too eager to lay down and suddenly feel that tell-tale signal that I'm about to be blown away.

My best results so far have been while I was trying to just lay there and become as relaxed as possible, without really doing any muscular contractions. I also had something interesting happen a couple of sessions before that, where I was experimenting with nipple play. My whole abdomen got kind of warm and tingly for a few moments.

Is arousal as important as I've been led to believe? There seem to be some contradictions. As near as I can tell, it does help to be aroused but not essential.

Hi Justn_Otherguy,

Perhaps I jumped the gun a little bit with my post thinking you were farther along on your journey.

Have you been able to start involuntary anal contractions? This is really a key part of the process leading to the Super O. If not, go back and read B. Mayfield's keys to the back door and just have sessions with zero expectations to work on getting them working reliably.

To answer your question on arousal. Yes arousal is essential to get to a Super O. The arousal wave that I spoke of in my previous post is exactly like you would experience on the way to a normal ejaculatory orgasm. Your heart rate is elevated your testicles contract, your breathing is rapid, it IS an orgasm only without the ejaculation. For me the fall off afterwards is just not very pronounced. These arousal waves used to start for me after I have been doing involuntary contractions for some period of time. for a time reference, this is usually about 30 minutes into a session. The first 15-20 minutes are taken up with getting relaxed and deep breathing. Usually I induce them with nipple stimulation or by just thinking about what is about to happen. As you get more rewired the process gets shorter and easier.

Insearchof - I have not progressed to the point where I have felt involuntaries, though there was one session where my legs were trembling. I wasn't sure whether that had to do with my current session or if my blood sugar was low. I'm not diabetic, as far as I know, but there have been occasions where I start to get a little shaky if I haven't eaten in a while.

I'd like to clarify what I think of as being "aroused". I associate arousal with at least a semi-erect penis and a desire for an orgasm. Am I wrong? Anyone else out there want to express their own definition of arousal?

Don't get caught up in the search for involuntaries. I hit the super O without ever having them... and with not much motion of the device at all. Later I realised that there was much more going on back there than I thought, but I was too caught up in this search for contractions and didn't even notice. The fact is that I have learned to spawn vigorous contractions at will, but they NEVER continue through the Super O. It is a much more subtle process for me.

I think edging and NOT ejaculating before you start an Aneros session is a great and smart way to start one.
