EDIT: This stuff has proven more difficult to use than anticipated!!! I'll post a guide should I be able to get quality results. Until then I can't advise anyone else buy it. The problem is getting a silky smooth finish, like existing syn models.
Just found a product from SquarePegToys called Peg Away Putty. It's mold-able 100% platinum silicone that 'dries' hard but flexible. Homemade Maximus Trident-Syn anyone? Permanently softened P-tabs? Your own design from scratch?
I've contacted Squarepeg to see if there will be any material incompatibility. But I'm hopeful, considering the existing syn models are a combo of platinum silicone and plastic.
@Kazama ,
This is a really nice idea. It seems a bit too expensive to sculpt a complete massager/dildo though.
Cheers, Unfug
@kenn_ger I'm glad you've had great success with the putty! Let us know how it goes with your Helix syn 🙂
@Unfug Yeah it's pricy, especially with international shipping. But making a small modification or thin coating shouldn't break the bank. May have overstated whats reasonable to do with this stuff in my excitement :S
A small update, Scott from Squarepeg got back to me (Hope he doesn't mind a post about it here). Asking which Aneros model to procure, in order to test out compatibility.
I'll post findings here, once a further reply comes.
True to his word Scott obtained an Aneros and tested out compatibility.
Here's the reply:
"So I was able to get my hands on an Aneros Trident series with the white plastic. The putty cures just fine on the plastic and does stick, but it does NOT adhere. I was able to remove it once I got an edge started, but just pulling on it it stuck pretty well. So depending on what you want to do with it, it might be ok, and it might not. I say that because once inside you you’re not able to apply that much force to it with soft tissues, but I would say the larger the surface area covered the safer you will be with it staying put, so maybe a wider foot print than you would for a silicone toy."
He's been incredibly friendly throughout this, can't speak highly enough.
So I figure giving a Syn like coating to any plastic model will work (I'll try this very soon). But simply adding a small bump would be much easier on a Syn or Vice model, as that will guarantee a strong bond.
Honestly, I wouldn't even want to risk doing something like this to my toys...Seems like it would be all too easy for the "addition" to become detached from your toy and suddenly you need a trip to the ER.

The thought had crossed my mind!
That's why I went straight to the manufacturer for info and have planned carefully. No one wants to be that guy in ER hahaa.
@techpump using putty to modify p-tabs always seemed a great idea. So using putty (that's designed and tested for sex toys) to create a full outer layer seemed like a sound next step.
Honestly, with a Syn like coating of silicone round the base, there is no logical way an addition would become detached. Even on a pure plastic model.
@logik Have you watched the videos on how strong this stuff is? Or on how well it adheres to silicone? The reason Scott emphasized putty not melding to the white Aneros plastic in his reply, is because when applying to silicone it WILL do that, very well.
As with most modifications, this was never meant to be for everyone. Just sharing my ongoing tinkerings should anyone be of a similar mindset.
If you're worried about the piece dislodging you could always put a condom over the toy. I know that condoms do change the feel of the toy though, unfortunately.
Not that I'm planning on modifying any of my devices... but if an added "bump" did pop off... um, I think it would come out in the next bowel movement.
*see original post edit
2wontquit21 There may very well be a significant problem if the edges of the added 'bump' are very thin and sharp. They could easily scratch (or even deeply wound) that very delicate lining (mucosa) of the rectum. I agree with logik about this. Better not to do it. Remember: Sometimes, the Enemy of "Good" is "Better".
Thank you for the concern @Armon-neat, I'll be extra careful, scouts honour.
The putty (once cured) is much softer than the stuff on "Syn" models. Also, I have made the current full covering of silicone on my MGX as smooth as possible. But you are right to advise caution regarding sharp edges.
I won't remove the added warning from my first post here

until I'm sure of the safety, ease and validity of trying this kind of modification.
Should it work out safe and easily repeatable for me, and if anyone is even interested in a guide, I will start said guide will a large 'disclaimer'. Stating your concerns about sharp edges, as well as logik's fair point about smaller 'additions' potentially coming off. The last thing I want is for someone to face disappointment, or worse injury, after investing time and money.
It should also be made clear that modifications of ANY type should not be undertaken lightly. Making progress towards MMO's is 90% in your head, rewiring and building a different kind of.... relaxed arousal. If someone just starting out thinks they have issues with their existing model, it's likely to be a matter of developing technique and awareness, rather than needing change. Even then there are many existing models to try.
As there is little precedent for such mods on the forum, I'm very much working on my own here, which is hard!
I'm not gonna give up easily though!
So if anyone has advice or ideas with regards to process (like how to get a smooth finish on silicone), it would be welcome.
@Kazama : Well said, K! Actually I should have made it a bit clear what my concerns are: When the silicon is applied/stuck to the device, I don't see any issue. If it were to come off and float around and get shoved around by stool or something, a sharp edge could make a superficial injury. Even though they are soft, the material is tough, especially if it were somehow folded on itself and its "sharp" edge were forced into the wall by a device or stool, it could cause a mucosal (lining) tear. Those would likely heal quite well. But, if it's softer than the Helix syn covering, it would not likely be a problem.
Wishing you success! BTW: when I had an mgx (I lost it!!!, don't ask), I put a 1 inch plastic ball on the end of the tab which irritated my perineum but good. I sawed a deep groove in this solid ball (it was a miniature billiard ball) and then slipped it on top of the tab. it worked fine! I had also some lens cleaning cloths that I cut up and used a rubber band to bind around to the tab before I thought of the ball. Just a thought.
