A question for users who integrate the aneros into sex with their partners--when do you do it? I'm new to the Aneros, have used mine 4 or so times (no super O yet, but definitely interesting). I'd love to use while making love to my wife but am curious as to the experience of others and whether there is any best practice here. The Aneros seems to work best after as much time to relax in advance as possible. Same principle apply when having sex? Or can/should I merely insert, let the foreplay begin and then have at it? To each, his own, is what I'm expecting to here but would be interested in the experience and recommendations of others.
I use it early on as part of foreplay. If I am going to give my wife a massage, I put in the aneros and it's a win/win
Better yet... let your wife put it in as part of getting the ball rolling

Hi scs828,
Welcome to the Aneros General Discussion Forum,
Numerous men have integrated their Aneros use into their partnered relationships. The extent to which each does so is as individual as you are. Aneros use is mostly about pleasure, so whatever way you use it to increase your level of pleasure is your choice.
You may wish to read through the Women Too chapter of the Aneros WIKI and then read through the Sticky : A Wife's Perpective thread for additional information and insight into this topic.
You may also wish to read the Blog entries of members 'artform' and 'STARR831' as they touch upon Aneros usage with their partners.
An Aneros is a nice way to establish an initial level of arousal and spike it with a "goose" when you get overly involved in offering your spouse some intricate/extended or laborious play that would otherwise detract from your own arousal. You may also find that, bringing your anal canal and prostate into play will expand your overall arousal. All good !!! (However, see caution note below)
We've also found that Aneros fits into other types of play where your wife can "pleasure" you much as you might "pleasure" her without intent of self-reward.
We started with a Helix during foreplay and intercourse about a year ago and switched to an SGX last summer. Snipped the tail on the SGX late last year. Each of these moves was an improvement.
I'm more mobile and less restrained with the SGX than the Helix since there's no position for either of us that can cause a hint of discomfort to me. The SGX offers a definite "presence" but isn't overpowering or distracting in anyway. (I don't own a Peridise so can't judge but that might be an even better choice.)
Aneros was a replacement for a remote controlled prostate vibe that didn't work out (suffered from frequent 'fallout'). Initially we tied a shoestring to the Aneros tail for her to 'toy with.' That didn't work out and we devised some physical cues she performs on me that cause me to contract. As we've progressed, they've become automatic triggers and require no conscious effort on my part.
Use your collective imaginations. (nips, sensitive tickle spots etc.) We've found that triggered contractions are far more effective than was the shoestring approach. Have her hunt for new erogenous spots on your bod and then you 'wire' them to your contractions and prostate sensations.
I usually insert coming out of the shower, go erect with the anticipation of sex then go flaccid and don't bother becoming erect again until we are ready for some penetration. The Aneros has increased my conscious control over whether I'm erect or limp. Everyone's mileage seems different on this.
Now the caution: Consciously make an effort to keep your own rectal e-coli from reaching your wife's urethra -- particularly if she is post-menopausal, not on hormone replacement therapy and you value missionary position. Although we understood the hazard, I did infect her with some contaminated KY or Astroglide that worked its way down my crotch and onto my penis. Fortunately we got it treated & cured before it became a full-blown bladder infection.
We share a very understanding Urologist (claims he's seen or heard it all). He suggested vegetable shortening as an anal lube for the Aneros during foreplay. While too 'stiff' for a regular Aneros session, this works during foreplay as my contractions are very deliberate and slower paced than if I were solo with the Aneros. If you avoid missionary though, any lube you like is OK.
