I just find them irritating. Butt plugs often have comfortable about three inch flat bases that fit comfortably between the butt cheeks. Get with it aneros!
@Charlie1
You think there's no SPECIAL reason why the P-tab and K-tab are there?
They have a special purpose. Hopefully they will NOT change the design just because you don't know what that purpose is.

Please read the above link and refrain from blaming Aneros for this.
Regardless of the purpose, which I agree with, the tabs are poorly designed. MANY people complain of this not just me.
I remember when I was a noob to the Aneros massagers.... I found that the P-tab irritated my taint, but now it's nothing but pleasure! I guess you can equate it to sensitive hands that aren't accustom to manual labor. Give it time.. after a while, it'll be a non-issue.
I've read suggestions about how to soften the P-tab for those who find it irritating. Cut the rubber top off of an eye-dropper and slide it over the tab, for example.

Curious how long you have been using Aneros devices?
Love the P-tab feature...especially with the "Classic" models...it would be a mistake to remove them. I would rather see them modify or remove the handle though...I cut mine all off.
@Charlie1 No! The P-tab is vital in the "feedback" it provides to the massager and the prostate. It was instrumental in giving me my first Super-O with the Helix classic!
I have modified some of mine to remove the k-tab, or back tab, but never the p-tab. For me, it's necessary. YMMV
I don't want to remove it, but I find the tab on the Helix Syn just to be flopping around and not doing anything. Totally different from the rock-hard plastic variety, which seems to have a nasty edge to it. I feel that I'd like to have the plastic for firmness, with the rounded edge of the Syn model for better comfort.
Just posted about the rigidity of the Ptab on the Original (non silicone coated) Aneros being the key to excellent sessions with the do nothing method.
If it a little to biting, possibly dipping it in the liquid rubber stuff at the hardware store meant to recoat pliers handles would do the trick. Or squirt some window/door silicone into a disposable cup and dab into it, experimenting until you get the right amount and distribution
