Different Aneros materials

Hi,

I'm looking into buying the Eupho. Now I own the Heliks and the Progasm. The thing is both seem to be made out of different material with a different feel.

Heliks: Velvetty satin feeling
Progasm: Glossy and smooth feeling

The Heliks somehow irritates my sphincter. The material is "too sticky" if you will. It seems to hold lubricants better, but it starts this burning sensation that is really distracting. With the Progasm which is made out of a very smooth material I don't have that problem at all, but it's a bit oversize to be comfortable now. When you apply lubricant to the Progasm, it tends to "slide of" because it is so smooth, like it has a high gloss layer of lacquer over it.

Now my question, what type is the Eupho made out of ? I really hope it is the same as the progasm.

Thanks.

Helix and Eupho seem to be made from the same plastic.

Hello helikz, 🙂

The Progasm and Progasm Ice so far are the only prostate massagers that are made from a different plastic than the other models. So there likely will be some differences between the two types of plastics in how they feel. I also suspect that there is some quality control variance in Aneros manufacturing. My Helix is actually quite rough compared to my MGX and Peridise advance set that is very smooth. And these are all made from the same type of plastic.

If you feel motived and have the skills, you can manually sand and polish your Aneros till you get it to the desired smoothness. Reference the following forum thread:
http://www.aneros.com/forum/f5/progasm-mod-10902/

Also, with any anal irritation I would question what type of lube you are using. Water based lubes that have glycerin in them have been known to cause this problem. It was something I experienced myself, in addition to the "urge to purge" effect. If this applies to you, then try using a glycerin free lube and see what kind of results you get.

Thanks for you replies! hmm too bad. The eupho is quite expensive. It should come with perfect QC no ?

Love_is: The stickiness... that's it exactly. Strange that that user had the problem with his progams. Mine is glossy as could be. Well... I polished my Heliks last year, and it is smoother, but not the same als the progasm. I guess I should use a finer grit.

About lube: I've tested quite some things, started with water based as it was recommend, but it's terrible, dries out way too fast, and thus irritates skin for sure. The best I've come across and am still using now is virgin coconut oil. 100% natural, completely non poisonous as you can eat it ... just a little bit more slippery factor would be nice, but I don't think there are other options. Only real downside is the odor. Coconut smells nice, np there... but too much coconut...

Eupho seems to be molded of Acetal or Delrin (the Dupont trademark) like SGX, MGX, Helix and Maximus. The surface on different Acetal models does vary. The two best I've bought were my original Helix and more recently a Maximus (sort of a matte surface finish rather than the slight graininess of other models.)

IMO, Aneros/HIH does a far better job than the average sex toy manufacturer. In an anal toy, seams can feel like a sharp knife in one's ass. Just routine handling can inflict small nicks that I can feel, not just in the sphincter but on up in my anal.rectal canal. So, I do regular maintenance when needed.

As Love_is notes, many of us do such maintenance. Auto polishing compound, 1200-3000 grit sandpaper and jeweler's rouge all work well. More recently a couple of us have adopted Scotchbrite pads. They are color coded -- green, pretty course and white -- quite fine. Several colors like blue and black are atwixt those. hth ... rook

Have you tried Slippery Stuff? They make a Gel, and regular lube that's tested anal safe, and is quite slippery and long-lasting. Could inject it and rub a little coconut oil onto the Aneros to save money and make it really slippery.

I also tried virgin coconut oil in the early part of my Aneros journey, and found the consistency to be too light at body temperature, and the smell unbearable. You might look into using unrefined 100% shea butter that is pale yellow to white in color. I've been using the Now Foods brand for well over a year now and have been very happy with it's performance and very light smell. Here's a link to the main shea butter thread:

Also, a lot of users here like Rumel's natural jelly recipe. You can find it in post number 13 at the following link:

Remember too that, even with the most polished of tools and the most ideal lubes, having a scrap of popcorn in the canal can get very irritating during a long session. While I consume a generous fibre supplement daily, it's isn't always effective in scavenging all the roughage my varied diet leaves as intestinal clutter. So, for anything other than a brief edging wank, I endorse cleansing.

Thanks again for the replies:
Badger: I'd prefer to use all natural products. Still have some Pjur and Pur Backdoor in the house (non-water based), odoless, quite slippery, handy dispencer and all, but I ended up with nasty sphincter clefts, which have bothered me for months. horrible. Not sure if it was due to the lubricant. I really take my time, don't force anything etc.

Love_is: Thanks for the links, I'll check out shea butter. As for Rumel's recipe, phew... that's really nuts and too complex 😉

Rook: Indeed. In cases I notice my canal is too 'dirty' to say so, I do some cleansing, just usina seringe and injecting some tepid water. A dirty canal can start to irritate indeed. Been there and resolved. I really had to conclude the surface of different types of aneroses is a problem. Even when I had a good time with the progasm or another brand of massager I used with the same texture, np at all. When during the same session I insert the heliks... after 10 mins bam... slight burning and really distracting, just eating away the whole sensations to say so.
