Did I get a super-o? Looking to ask questions from more experienced users.

...I thought I'd try taking some weed and using my helix syn. First time I did it the other day I definitely felt some stuff I'd never felt before. ...Today though, within ten minutes I felt all kinds of things.

"... it felt like electricity was charging though my body. Tingling, warmth, energy...wave after wave. Then I felt like I was leaving my body...all the while my body kept energizing, and having these waves of warmth and electricity. This lasted for a couple hours." This certainly fits the definition of a Super-O "...an orgasm that steps out of the normal frame of reference." It seems to me you may be limiting yourself by a restricted understanding of What's an Orgasm?. Please see Super-O Myths & Illusions regarding 'the Edge' plus a couple of other myths and also please read 'Neros' thread The Myth of Super Orgasm. All the sensations you described are common to the orgasmic experience, you might benefit from reading 'Buster's thread What exactly is a Super-O? to get a wider perspective of what a Super-O is.

If I closed my eyes I could feel all kinds of things but as soon as I opened them again, it would subside much more. It was still there, but weaker and harder to control.

"Butt buzz" is a common result of a prostate having been awakened. Closing one's eyes removes a major source of sensory overload and allows the other senses of touch, taste, smell and hearing to gain importance in supplying information to the brain for processing, opening the eyes dilutes the significance of those other senses, thus initiating the feeling they were '...weaker...", this is pretty normal in our sensory system.

So first question...how many of these feelings were the weed and how many were the helix?

Understand this, YOU are the creator of all the feelings associated with the sensory effects being perceived. Neither weed nor your Helix are the source of those feelings, they are merely tools enabling you to perceive bodily sensations from a different point of view.

Second question...was that a super-o? I feel like it can't have been...makes me suspicious that it wasn't a super-o.

From the Aneros WIKI Super-O definition "Super-O's come in all shapes and sizes. Some are small, some are large, some are single, some are multiple, some are centered in one area while others are in another. Some are particularly intense, while others are more subdued. The Super-O is very personal and different for each individual." If you're holding on to a strict idea of what constitutes a Super-O you may miss or dismiss all the Super-O's you may ever have. In my own Super-O experiences, I always get intense P-waves, sometimes my Super-O is not as pleasure intense as an ejaculatory orgasm, I don't leak any fluids, I don't get muscle spasms (other than orgasmic pelvic floor muscles). I don't have any particular emotional feelings during a Super-O but after an Anerosession I usually feel fulfilled and grateful to have had such an experience, it always leaves me with the desire to experience it again. I think you did have a Super-O but your preconceived concept may have been too restrictive to acknowledge it, so congratulations on getting there after your years of practice.
If the weed helped you get there then OK, now you have opened the doorway to your Super-O's and future progress is probable without relying on weed to get you there. The Aneros journey is an evolutionary learning experience, each session alters the perceived body of knowledge, sometimes in major ways but mostly in small increments, sometimes imperceptible to our ego consciousness. Yes, I have read the aneros wiki at length. So I know how the super-o is defined, and I know they are different for everyone so that makes it difficult to pinpoint, but I didn't know if maybe they were just intense p-waves.

There a lot of things I've read which don't really seem to match what people have told me would help. If I'd known some of these things, I may have gotten there faster. For instance, people always said:

"You need to be turned on" - This was decidedly untrue for me. My super-o, if indeed that is what is was, was not sexual in the slightest.
"You should try watching porn" - Having my eyes open makes the feelings subside a great deal. Closing my eyes worked best for me.

If I were trying to help someone get there, I think I might not call it an orgasm. I think that is confusing. I know the wiki talks about how it isn't the same, but the fact that the aneros is sold as a "sex toy" on many sites and the fact that it is still called an "orgasm" It makes me focus on the genital area (even though everyone always said not to touch your penis) when in reality for me it didn't have anything to do with the genitals. I was fully clothed and sitting on the couch when I had mine.

Yes, I am excited that I managed to get there even though I had to use some marijuana. In the future, as you say, hopefully I'll be able to take less and less of that until I can just use the helix on its own without any help.
