So I cut off the Handle of the Helix syn and have had one session which was pretty amazing. It was moving in and out like never before, like I actually felt like the Helix was "doing" me. It was great. Only thing is I need to put something over the cut end so it doesnt dig into me. Really looking forward to next session today. What have you been putting over the cut end for those of you who have modified yours?

I have a Progasm so no need to cut anything off. However, consider those liquid plastic/rubber compounds one can use to coat the handles of tools. I think that might work and by repeating the process you should be able to build up a bit of a "bulb" to cushion the cut end. Let me know if you do and it works.

@Kandink69, how much tail did you leave. I cut mind to about 1.5 inches the with a heat gun softened the tail and bent the end into a curl so now I have a .75 inch tail. I can move freely with it.
I guess you cut yours a lot shorter

just get some sandpaper that can sand down something really fine, like a super duper micro grain kind. That's what I did, its actually smoother than the rest of the aneros! I've cut the handle off every toy I have, I can't have an orgasm if they are still attached 🙂

@isvara I've cut mine right down to the end of the handle tab, and used sandpaper to smooth it all out really nice, it doesn't even look like it ever had a handle at all! I even cut that strange "other" tab off the progasm, it was digging into the top of my ass crack way too much, and the second I cut that off, it was so much better!! I like how much deeper the progasm goes now...damn all this talk makes me want a session tonight and I wasn't planning on it!!!

I left about a half inch of tail and held that edge a far distance up over an open flame but close enough to get it to soften, then used the back of a spoon in a circular motion softened the edges to a dull rounded end. It moves very unhindered.
After the price paid for my helix syn I've been apprehensive about cutting off the tail. I don't know why, it seemed to help the classic sessions.

So tech, your just telling me gotta work up the courage and do it? 🙂
I'm thinking about it. You're right about the k tab too. Thing digs in and hurts.

yes! it doesn't prevent it from going completely inside you, the aneros cannot turn sideways enough to slip completely inside of you with the p-tab too. It just really isn't physically possible. You can do it! but only if you think it'll be better 😉

I used a dremel on mine. Cutting wheel to cut it off. Sanding wheel to grind it smooth, and then some fine grit (400 I think) sand paper to smooth it out.

It may be overkill for some but I've used the standard wet/dry sandpaper (400 to 800 grit) then finished with clear coat sandpaper (2000 grit available at automotive paint stores or on line). This produces a very smooth finish that's consistent with the surrounding material.

I went all the way out to 3000 grit wet sandpaper to smooth mine out and then polished them with a lens polishing kit. I've done it to most all of them, to either smooth off the handle or remove the mold seam. They're now extra smooth and slippery.

So I gave this a shot too. My "modification" didn't turn out very well and I was concerned that I had ruined my Helix Syn. I immediately went and popped it in.

I regret nothing.

I love that with the helix tail-less it doesn't push back when laying flat on the back with legs flat. I had cut the tail down but just shaved it down to almost the main stem now. With open flame held about 4 inches away I softened the plastic edge and with a thumb and forefinger smoothed it. It's not as refined as the sandpaper but it is effective in a pinch I will go back and use the 3000 grit and a polishing cloth later. Badge did you polish the whole thing? If so would you say it's astill smooth as the ice versions?
