Today, I found I had used up the last of my lube, Maximus. I have had this for about 7years. Had a bottle of Astroglude in my cupboard and decided to try it. Wow! The difference was amazing. The Aneros suddenly cake alive and within seconds I was groaning in blissful pleasure.
It's strange how one discovers hints by accident. Has anyone else found that a different lube can improve ones experience. My orgasms went on for ages and I just had to call a halt as I had other things to do!

Does the Astroglide have any of the "urge to purge" side effects? I might try it too. Currently using unrefined shea butter.

You could also try to mix sheabutter and coconut oil. Read about it here on the forum. A bit of vaseline in the outside and the rest on the inside ;-). Except for the vaseline, unrefined and there is no smell!!
Melting the butter and the oil, mix together and poor that in a small ice cube thing. Cooling down in the freezer and ready to go

Works fine for me

Since Astroglide originated in our county, the local Uro-docs and Ob-Gyn docs frequently offer free trial sized samples. My wife brings home something 'new' on a regular basis. The Strawberry flavoured lube smells good, tastes better than most of the flavoured vaginal lubes and is a top notch vaginal product with or without a condom. Astroglide-X is one of the better silicone lubes and a small dab compares with K-Y Intrigue.

There are many other varieties and you can check them out and perhaps opt for a sample at .

All that said, I usually return to my fave, SheaButter + Coconut Oil

I've had the best luck with Slippery Stuff Gel, because it's really slippery, really thick and lasts a very long time. I've had overnighters that still pushed out lube afterwards. I also coat the Aneros with Vaseline, but have to wipe the excess off or deal with stained everything, starting with underwear/sheets. Slippery Stuff does not seem to cause any distress because it doesn't have any glycerin in the ingredients.

i sing songs of praise for Astroglide gel, the sensitive stuff. It is the best and I've tried maybe 10 other anal or otherwise lubes and I ALWAYS go back to astroglide.

@roygbiv it never has made me feel like I need to "purge" at all. It seems to be very inert, creates no additional feeling or sensation at all. Other than it being super slick there's no other side effect to my anus, rectum or anything else it touches.

I must agree with Badger slippery stuff gel with a round ball of coconut oil and you are ready to ride.

Slippery Stuff Gel is my one and only lube...tried many...this one really works for me! I may try it with coconut oil as Mack offered for longer sessions.

I started out using ID Glide but found that it started to dry out toward the end of a long session. I have switched to Boy Butter squeeze and find that this works much better. No drying at all. Only downside I notice is a slight purge effect in about an hour or two, but that is manageable.

Read the ingredient list on Astroglide. It contains harmful ingredients. I love the stuff but decided to move away from it. I tried coconut oil today, meh, it was just ok.
