Beginner questions... erections, spasms

I bought a Helix Syn about 2 months ago. So far I've used it about 6 or 7 times. I'm making progress, I think... I've been reading up on the message boards and wikis and at the beginning I think I was trying too hard to DO SOMETHING!! I have been working on more just being relaxed and doing deep breathing and when I do try to do contractions, make them very light. I've been enjoying it a lot, though I'm not quite there as far as having orgasms. I have a couple questions:

First, should I expect to be hard? I was kind of expecting I would be. While having the Helix in has definitely been pleasurable, for the most part, except for a couple brief periods, I haven't been. I was wondering if this was normal, and what part of the process might encourage or prevent erections.

Second, I have recently been able to reach a stage where I will kind of relax a bit and then I will have about a half dozen fairly quick involuntary spasms that seem to pull the Helix more into my body, and leads to a feeling that I'm "clamping" it in. I will then relax a bit and then have another short wave of spasms, repeating the whole process maybe 4 or 5 times, and then seems to wind down and not getting as much of a reponse. Should I be trying to hold back from the clamping part? Or should I go with it more? It definitely feels good, but it doesn't feel like it's getting me closer to any kind of orgasm.

Thanks for any advice you have.

It's quite normal not to be hard during an Aneros session, although there may be episodes when you become so. I think that the occurrence of erections varies a lot with the individual.

As for the clamping spasms, in my case when these occur they are usually followed by a pretty intense orgasm; so don't hold back. go with the flow.

Erections will happen but not necessary. Breathe into your belly and let it fill while arching the pelvis and breathe out let the pelvis relax back to neutral with a light pc muscle flexion. Relax and repeat. If it feels like it is clenching hard try to lighten it in your mind and just ride the sensations. Nobody wants to hear this, I know I didnt, but patience is absolutely necessary. 27 months later I never would have believed how this could feel. My main go to is helix classic but syn is alright too. Enjoy what to u get in each session. It will continue to grow with time.

During my aneros sessions I go from hard to soft and back many times...sometimes a majority of session I'll be rock hard and other times I'm soft for a lot of it. The advice that yankeecowboy gave is right on. One other thing to remember is that what "works " is different for everyone.

Don't worry about your cock, it'll do it own thing while you're riding. When using helix I'm usually semi-hard with dick flopping around with a few erections here and there.

When the auto-contractions happen, just enjoy! RELAX and enjoy how your body is responding on it's own to the pleasure. This goes for whole session, just enjoy yourself. No pressure, no questioning how your body is acting. Just reveling in new found pleasure.

Happy riding!

@PassingThru Don't try for any preset pattern during your sessions. Just let your body take-over and it will tell you what it wants and needs. You may be surprised at the variety of responses your body has in store and sometimes at unusual times (Aless). Just make sure the Aneros basics are met: lube, positioning, kegels (or not for do-nothing) and just ride-out the pleasure! PS Ignore the 'flagpole' for now! It's usually just going-along for the ride anyway! Good luck! It sounds like you are making great progress already!

Thanks everyone, for your comments. After using it the Helix on Saturday I thought if I avoided following up with any masturbation some extra arousal buildup the following day might be helpful. So I gave it another try on Sunday and I ended up having several episodes of really fast, short involuntary hip thrusting lasting several minutes each. However I did not feel like I actually reached a point of orgasm/release. Definitely very good progress though! I expect to have some time to try again tonight after a break of several days.

@PassingThru,
All of the above members have given you good advice and it seems you have incorporated that advice into your practice, good for you!

Yes, congratulations, you have definitely made very good progress, you've already achieved MMO status but you aren't giving yourself credit for the achievement. IMHO, far too many new users denigrate their own accomplishments/advancements in achieving orgasms because they are clinging to restrictive ideas concerning the qualities for evaluating the orgasmic experience. You may find the thread What's an Orgasm? helpful here.

The typical traditional penile stimulated ejaculatory orgasm lasts a mere 7-15 seconds with approximately the same number of ejaculatory spasms. This is normally followed by a hormonal release leading to a refractory period. Prostate based orgasms are qualitatively different as you have already discovered. Prostate based orgasms are most frequently "dry" orgasms (no ejaculation), hence, you probably will not experience a refractory period nor will you have any sense of "...orgasm/release." This characteristic is what makes the Male Multiple Orgasms possible, your description of "...several episodes of... short involuntary hip thrusting..." certainly fits the MMO definition.

Due to your description of "...several episodes...lasting several minutes each.", I would even speculate you experienced a Super-O (see definition which states

A Super-O is an overwhelmingly strong non-ejaculatory orgasm that may involve: durations of minutes at a time...

). Please see Super-O Myths & Illusions and @neros thread The Myth of Super Orgasm for clarifications. You're doing great, just continue to allow yourself to explore this new sensual playground. Good Vibes to You !
