Hi
So I read all the stuff about prostate massagers and thought I'd give one a try, but get the idea I maybe bought the wrong one for me. I'm not with a partner at the moment so my usual source of amusement is 'Doc Johnson UR3 Super Sucker' male masturbator that I've had some amazing sessions with, I can keep bringing myself to the brink, then back off a little & repeat, I could keep going with this baby for literally hours if I wanted to but 2 is usually enough for me to decide I then want to have my orgasm. With this toy my orgasms are very intense and my ejaculations a lot more powerful with a large amount of semen. I sometimes use a 'Doc Johnson Crystal Jellies Anal Starter' dildo which is a slim dildo about 6 inches long and I like to put that in my bum and grind my hips on it while I use the masturbator. Sometimes I use one of those 'Tenga' single-use masturbators as well which are quite fun but they seem to start to fall apart after an hour or so. I'm slightly bisexual as well and have given & received anal sex with 3 men but not in the last 10 years or so. that said I'm no a beginner when it comes to anal play and it has always given me a good deal of pleasure, so after reading about them, I figured a prostate massager could open up a new dimension of fun & pleasure, but unfortunately that hasn't been the case so far. After looking through the range of available items and reading reviews on the 'Rocks Off' brand and Aneros, I decided on a Progasm Junior, which arrived on Friday and was waiting for me in the letterbox when I got home from work. I'd done a little reading up on how to use it during the week on this forum so after a couple of hours relaxing in front of the TV on Friday evening I decided to give it a try. I lubed myself and the massager with my favourite lube, 'Maximus' anal lube, I use this in the masturbator because it lasts for ages without drying up, unlike a lot of water-based lubes. I popped it in the old back door as per the instructions using the 'scooping' action and stayed lay on my side. It felt OK in there, not at all uncomfortable or painful and so I started some meditiation breathing and some gentle contractions and...nothing. I literally felt nothing at all. I thought never mind I've seen the forum which advises patience so I'll be patient, so I carried on laying there, breathing deep & slow and contracting my anal muscles on & off for a while longer and.. nothing. After an hour or so the 'P' and 'K' tabs started to poke into my sacrum and perineum pretty uncomfortably so again using advice I'd read on the forum I folded up some tissue and placed it between my skin and the tabs which helped. After 90 minutes or so Ibegan to feel vaguely ridiculous lying there with this thing up my bum doing nothing for me so I gently pulled it out of myself , washed it off with warm soapy water & put it back in it's box, feeling disappointed and like I'd just wasted £40. At no point during the session did I have any pleasurable sensations whatsoever or get an erection or feel even slightly turned on by my experience. Again because I'd read the forum some, I figured it can't work every time, but I've now tried using the thing for 3 nights in a row, and felt nothing at all any of the time apart from a bit stupid, lying there contracting my arse muscles and feeling zilcho. Each time I've used plenty of lube, it's a lube intended for anal use, but I don't understand what I'm getting wrong. I don't think the massager is touching my prostate, if it wasn't for my making anal sphincter contractions I couldn't even feel it up there, oh apart from those damned tabs pressing against me uncomfortably, to the point of almost making me sore. I've had 2 90minute sessions and tonight I'm writing this after having lain there with it in for 2 hours. Any advice would be hugely appreciated, I don't feel I've been impatient, oh I will mention one thing I found odd was that the morning after my first session I felt vaguely unwell, and hot & sweaty like I had the onset of flu, this seemed to pass by early evening and again the day after the first session I noticed some strange involuntary contractions in my rectum that I've never had before. I'm going to leave it now for a few days now before I try it out again, but at the moment it looks like I'll be returning to more familiar methods to give myself pleasure. I'm just confused that after having read all the positive reviews and all the various positive statements from people saying about how good prostate massagers are that I've felt absolutely nothing at all at any point in time when I've had the massager inside myself.

It's quite clear you don't understand what the aneros exactly is and how it differs from other toys on the market. The aneros is mainly a non ejaculatory toy. It's meant for men who have the desire to become orgasmic. With orgasm I'm not refering to ejaculation. Orgasms and ejaculations are two different things. Ejaculation has a refractory period, orgasms don't. It is because of that, that for example woman are able to orgasm multiple times. Becoming able to orgasm multiple times and being able to have different orgasms (Anal, Prostate, Dry and the big Super O) takes time, patience and training. The aneros is not a toy you pop in and being able to orgasm immediately. For some people it took months to finally be able to have Anal, Prostate, Dry and Super Orgasm over and over again.

If one goes upon a journey to learn how to use the aneros to its true potential one can become orgasmic and even in such a way that the person will be even able to orgasm without the toy, called Aless (anerosless). This takes time, patience and dedication. You for example need to to change your mindset from penis to prostate, you need to learn how to truly relax, how to surrender, how to be aroused both physically and mentally etc. You haven't wasted money, you are simply not aware of what the toy is meant for. I would suggest to read some blogs and posts on the forum. You can also pop into the chatroom and ask around.

I completely concur with @qaws. It would've been more surprising if you were able to orgasm the first time. Read the wiki. There's great info there for the beginner. Anal play alone does not mean that your prostrate has been awakened.

Sometimes it feels good while its in. Other times it can feel distracting if you're focusing on other things. All I know is that when it goes into AUTO mode then hold on.
Your initial expectations are pretty high. I believe a lot of people have this idea that you put it in and WHAM instant MMO/SO. It doesn't work that way though. Part of the experience is the journey and I am willing to bet that if you tried giving it an honest workout then you may pleasantly find out that it can work.
Everyone is different so maybe the Pro Jr isn't hitting your spot. Can you find it with your finger or with the Jr inside? Do you know the feeling when it is stimulated? Are you doing your exercises and breathing? When your body wants to take it then it will just go into auto mode. Your muscles will clench, release at obscene speeds. Those moments you're just hanging on and they are worth the effort.
Give it sometime. Being able to orgasm without penile stimulation feels great. It feels even better when they just keep flowing one right after the other.

That is how it starts. Things will progress in time with practice and patience. If you continue practicing you may soon reach a level where sneezing will cause a rumbling feeling near your pelvic floor muscles. (caused by the sudden abs clench from the sneeze moving stuff around down there.
