Another Lubricant Question

I keep reading about members using Shea Butter as their preferred lube. There seems to be over a gazillion different brands and version of the slippery stuff.

What version and brand do you use for internal lube and where do you buy it?

Meanwhile, I still use my reliable virgin olive oil and sometimes water-based lube.

Thanks in advance for the info.
G

I’ve just used water-based lube from Target and it works well for me.

@GGringo Never used shea butter. I still use Boy Butter (oil-based) and Slippery Stuff Gel (water-based). I like them both.

naissance 306 unrefined shea butter. Bought from their site or amazon.
It's substantially thicker than olive oil even once melted. So maybe try buying a smaller amount? Could always mix with coconut oil if it's not to your liking, thin it down some.

Ive been using coconut oil but not too impressed..it stays lubed, but it's like too thin. The plain old Shibari water based lube on Amazon is nice but 9/10 times I get the instant urge2purge. Heard good stuff about Sliquid Sassy on here so I got a bottle in yesterday. I'll report back after my next ride if anyone's interested

1. Olive Oil: it's great, but i think that it does stain stuff. And i'd rather there not be that kind of "evidence" that i've ridden, if you catch my drift.
2 Water based lubes: While i don't use them and I know that those who do like them, i would only suggest that you make sure that the stuff doesn't have certain additives: For example: The lubes for intercourse may have spermicide and or bacteriocide to minimize spoilage and those are not good chemicals to have absorbed through the rectal mucosa (lining). the same for parabens and those things. And since the water based lube has to be sold with a shelf life, there are other preservatives that are added. I think that I would avoid them, though if it's only once in a while that you use those, it probably couldn't hurt in any way.
3. I've always used a non-water based lube. I have used shea butter: it's available on Amazon and in some health food places. I drill out plugs with plastic syringe tubes and put them in the freezer. then insert. But you can just as easily lube the device and a dab on the "hole". I also do the same with CO (make those plugs). I agree that it is a bit thinner. And I know that there are some guys who actually cook up a non-water based lube with several ingredients. I happen to like the smell of CO ( 🙂 ). I also use the A&D diaper ointment: it is petroleum jelly and lanolin. Some do not like the idea of putting petroleum products in there and perhaps they have point. Also, it has a distinctive odor.
That's my take on it.
Once again, I go back to my favorite mantra: WWFY: whatever works for you! Cheers.

I've tried different water based lubes, silicone based lubes, vaseline, the homemade jelly lube recipe that goes around here and random other things too. Ive tried coating my helix in a more viscous lube while injecting a more liquid lube. I've been testing all this stuff because aparently I have a very sensitive anus and nearly almost everything irritates me down there or make me feel like Im going poop everywhere. But I solved my issues when i tried what @goldenboy suggested- Boy Butter. It's great, I promise! I no longer inject any lube and I now only have Boy Butter and threw the rest out. A coating on your device and the edge of your anus is plenty and will last for hours so I would highly recommend it! And it doesn't irritate my anus/bowels in anyway! Its also very easy to clean and comes in a nice tub for easy access. Thanks @goldenboy for always suggesting it!

I forgot to mention its very thick but at the same time as smooth as any lubricant and doesn't get squeegeed off during insertion.

Which version of boy butter? Is it the H2O or the normal?

@GGringo (did I do that right?)

Check out my last post about luscious lubes. I've tried about a googleplex of lubes for pretty much everything for about 30 years, but I really think I made a breakthrough with that Tatt Butter Co stuff (it feels marvelous and gives much greater physical feedback) and I have new stuff coming soon in anonymous brown packages. I'm on a quest, damn it!

I found shea butter to be a total nightmare to use.
When cold enough to handle using hands, it feels gritty and not smooth.
When instering into my sacred hole, it quickly spreads out before I can insert it fully meaning i have a messy bottom but nothing inside me.
When warmed up (eg. inside me) it wasnts to just run out / leak out / any farts propel it like spray paint everywhere. Dont get any on your toilet bowl as you will have to scrape it off once it quickly solidifies due to the cold.

Too gritty / non-smooth to use initially if you want to jack off. When warm it's a bit like oil.

...farts propel it like spray paint...

That sir, is the most illustrative analogy I've encountered this year! Kudos!

I just gave Shea butter a try last night, without the issues that @HereByAccident so vividly described... here's what I did;

Shea butter has similar melting characteristics as coconut oil, so I can see how things could get messy. My solution: I loaded my lube launcher by pulling the plunger, and pressing the Shea in with a knife. I filled it up to about halfway, the re-inserted the plunger... then re-inserted the launcher (if you catch my drift).

I'm now a Shea butter advocate, it feels just wonderful, lasts for hours, & and makes my tush oh-so-soft! Very smooth & comfortable... nothing but pleasant feelings, I'm still-a-tinglin'-big-time, the day after.

The local WallyWorld sells a raw Shea butter, organic & no addatives, that's where I got mine.
