Hi guys,
So, I was one of the 'lucky' ones that were in the chatroom while the announcement took place.
The Vice, one of the new V-series products, which sports a vibrator. This got me wondering. Isnt it true that all the experts here advice AGAINST using a vibrator, for it can cause numbness, possible damage and generally can hold you back on your journey to sexual enlightenment?
I saw someone question this in the chat session, but it got ignored or overlooked by the ones that might've been able to answer it.
Now aneros has released a vibrator, it suddenly is all good? This feels weird to me, to be honest. Like the vibrations are suddenly being brought on as something positive rather than negative, because now 'the company' has one too.
Please share your thoughts on this.
Rdr
Rdr,
I had intended on being in the Chat as I knew that this question would come up.....(I was one of the unlucky ones that didn't make it in!). I'm posting a review in several days that will clarify this. Rest assured that the concept of including a vibrator on this device was not some convenient conversion on anyone's part. All things were carefully considered.
Just for the record, the VICE doesn't feel weird at all, it feels very, very good!

It is sending a conflicting message on how to get to the super-o.
As in a previous post, it looks like a progasm with ability to add a vibration unit. Which would be nice if there was a smaller version.
But my only other concern is, that would be nice to have a variable vibration in stead of one that would just be constant.
And also, either a wired or better yet, wireless remote for it would be good, this way if you start out slow and do contractions then want the Vice to take over, you wouldnt have to really move to get it going.
Other than those idea's, way to go Aneros
A wise man once said: (I paraphrase) -- "using a vibrator for prostate stim is like cutting butter with a chainsaw" ... I will be open minded about the new Vice but at $139.00 it's a hard sell for this old school MGX guy who can play it like a fiddle...
I'm guessing that folks who attended the announcement got a freebie. Well, I for one am depressed beyond belief. My luck has been for crud lately. I had every intention of being there, even RSVP'd figuring something cool like that would have happened, and suffiice it to say, my Internet company hosed me with an outage -- localized, of course, so there went my evening.
Couple that will taking a spill on slippery steps going into the Pool at the gym with all the lifeguards busy eslewhere, leaving me to lay in pain on my back until I could flag someone down. *sigh*
Nothing seems to be going my way. 🙁
Well, life has been fun ... I sure could have used something new in my life to help me on my journey to better times. Of course, having no work and mounting bills is yet another joy.
Any who, congrats to those who had better internet than me. Seeing as I missed out on the Peridise samples a year or so back, and now this, perhaps there might be another opportunity while I'm still around.
I was hoping for a E-stim Progasm. But i guess il have to wait longer.
Hello guys, I'm still around!
Not logged in for a while, but the email telling me about the Vice got my attention. Very tempting, but I can't find the dimensions specified anywhere on the website. Is it comparable to the Prograsm? And will the battery last an hour or two? And is it audible when inserted?
Also, what ever happened to the stainless steel Peridise. Should I give up all hope? I had so much been looking forward to it.
Anyway, still having out of this world continuous multiple AWEgasms. I would call them Hyper-O's. Peridise is still my favourite!
Best regards to all,
GrandTiger
I have just taken the plunge and ordered the VICE, as it were sight unseen, and am still eagerly awaiting Brian Mayfield's assessment of it. I have no doubt that it will be positive but it occurs to me that if you are worried about the vibrator, you can always use the Vice without the vibrator.
What has me intrigued is the fact that there are subtle but probably important differences in the profile of the Vice compared with the Progasm. It clearly isn't just another Progasm and I for one, am keen to see if it fits me better than the Progasm. I can't wait to try it out!
Pommie
Very astute Pommie, you are correct on both counts regarding how the VICE may be used and the subtle differences. Looking at the images of it on the site it appears to be identical to a Progasm, it is not. There are subtle difference in size and conformation. My post will have all of the specifications on it.

Wow, you had a rough day! If it makes you feel any better, I was able to get into the chat and came out with nothing but updated information on the product line. Don't feel bad about not being there, you are getting all the information that we got.
If you ask me the vice looks like something nexus would produce it looks like one of those
crappy cheap prostate massagers you can buy with the vibrate function personally i would
never pay $139 for it what a rip off anyways who needs a prostate massager that will vibrate
i thought that was counter productive to aneros prostate massager use anyways i certainly
wont be buying it, goodluck to those who do and i hope aneros comes out with some better
more fairly priced stuff in the future that is actually descent.
How dissapointing it is
The simple fact of the matter is that people have put in a demand for a vibrating Aneros and Aneros has delivered to meet that demand. I know from reading posts through out the years that people have been asking for a vibrating Aneros. Whether it helps one to achieve a super O or is a hindrance isn't the Aneros teams problem. They're just supplying what people have been asking for which I don't blame them one bit for. Even if it may lead one astray on the super O journey. Though I think it to be a fun addition to the Aneros line.
There doesn't seem to be much demand for a vibrating analtoy, the reason partly being that they themselves have debunked the need for one.
The community's demand appears to be focussed on a)stainless steel in combi with e-stim b) Aneros that you use without discomfort while sitting c) (my favorite) an Aneros that doesn't require any lube whatsoever. For this I'd definitely be willing to be €100 on top of the normal price. d) this is perhaps to difficult but I'll suggest it anyhow. Put your own Aneros together using modules. Like for example the ribbed stem of the MGX with the size of the Maximus, with or without tail etc.
Hey, Helixer, you just might be on to something there! The logistics of it may prove to be quite a challenge: how do you make it modular, yet durable enough to not come apart during 'energetic' use?

I'm perhaps over-estimating the hightech-ness of the production process, what I had in mind were different configurations. And allowing users to combine the (already existing) configurations they value into one product.
-p-tab you have basically 3 types; ballshaped like with the progasm, the Mgx&(slightly bigger)Maximus type, the Helix and Eupho type.
- with or without ribbed stem
-with or without tail
so of every Aneros you would have 12 variants, so I'm not talking about the end user screwing different parts together, but the variety built into the production process like say a different color.
Personally I'd love to have a ribbed tailles progasm with a Maximus p-tab. But everyone values different characteristics, I don't know if this is attainable but it would definitely add customer value!
I'm actually pretty excited for this release.
OK, just read Brian's great :cool:review. Luv the silicone. I can vouch for this type of vibe. My wife has a very similar program in one of her vibes -- The pulse mode is my favorite -- great for a nice tease.
Once I nail down the stem diameter I'll make the final decision.
Damn, Brian's a smooth writer !!! ; ) :cool::
Rook,
On the "stem" as you call it, I think this may be what I've referred to as the base. As with the Prograsm this area is not perfectly symmetrical. The dimensions that I got for it were .985" X .67" . Hope that helps. Those who currently have Progasms should have no problem accommodating this. Those who do not and enjoy larger fare should have an easy time of it. Again, because the material is softer, it makes for an easier insertion. Hope this helps!
Cheers,
BF Mayfield
p.s Glad that you enjoyed the review!
I concur with rook, great review, certainly got me asshorny to try the Vice.
A great many questions have been answered, but I still have a few:
-Durability of the sillicone? I have misgivings about the effect of cleaning and lube. And as for the cleaning, does it absorb?
I ask coz the way I picture soft material that you can sit without any inconvenience is that it's soft and spongy?
Helixer,
Just to be clear the VICE is made out of a medical grade silicone. This is an inert material that has been used with implantable devices and can withstand extreme temperatures allowing it to be sterilized (as I described with boiling in water for 2 minutes in my review). Medical grade silicone is soft and pliable making it ideal in contact with human skin.
With respect to spongy, no, the VICE has some give to it, but to be useful as a massager of this type it requires some rigidity as well. Let's put it this way, when you squeeze the VICE you can feel some give to it yet it holds it's shape quite easily. Put another way, (not that you'd want to), but you can actually bend the VICE at the base. The main body is fairly firm however.
BF Mayfield
p.s. Thank you for your questions this reminds me that I forgot to make reference to this material in the review. I will be revising it today!
I agree totally with helixer, I'd love to spend lots of extra cash on a model that doesn't require lube, that has a material that is extremely low friction and works in harmony with the body.
WTF. Any model that doesn't require lube is either going to have to be self-lubricating, or for gaped-arse men only!

I believe the type of material can make all the difference. Some say you can use stainless steel without lube, and your ass isn't exactly dry...at least mine isn't 😉

Ahum, check the first thread on the general discussion page
Yeah, just found it by myself. I could have sworn it wasn't there the first time 😀
