Vibrators suck. Over the years I have been suckered by great reviews of the Hitachi Wand, Wahl, and another little piece of shit I got. I tried and tried to find erotic value in these, and all I got was numb tedium.
Yet, somehow, somehow, I let myself fall into the sway of this report by @shockedwaves:
https://community.aneros.com/forum/discussion/17276/my-new-favourite-toy-and-it-vibrates
$159 on Amazon! AND WORTH EVERY DIME (if you have lots and lots of dimes to throw at glorified masturbation.)
The Lelo Hugo does use vibration, but, it has the same relationship to vibrators as the Aneros has to a cucumber.
Why the Lelo Hugo is so excellent:
[LIST=1]
The Lelo Hugo is shaped roughly like an aneros: it has an inserted bulb and a perineum tab, both of which vibrate.
Given that the Hugo is inserted like the Aneros, you might wonder about the subject of this posting, how can they be used together??
For me, the inserted shape of the Hugo didn't work. It was too thick to insert comfortably, it put more pressure on the prostate than I wanted, and it didn't stay in well. (Shockedwave did not have any of these problems, and loves the shape of it inserted, so this is individual.)
If you look at the Hugo, you'll see it is roughly shaped like a Y (where one arm of the Y goes in your bum, the other in the perineum. The leg of the Y holds the battery and motor, i think)
Instead I did this:
Even though the Hugo is not inserted, it still very effectively transmits its vibrations to every place that could benefit from them.
The Hugo has three control modes, two of which are stupid: you're supposed to control the strength by gesturing with the remote control. Forget those. Just use the control mode that uses the buttons.
I set the Hugo on the lowest level, and a pulsing pattern.
This, in combination with the Eupho, gave me a succession of the deepest most profound orgasms I have ever had.
Just like the Aneros, it took me a while to get there. In the case of the Hugo, last night was my 5th or 6th use of it, and it wasn't until then that my body had figured out how to pick up its signal as an arousal amplifier. But, boy did it ever last night.
I rode this combo, using different vibe patterns for about a half hour. By subtly changing my position and concentration, I could direct the Hugo's stimulation to my hole, p-spot, balls, prostate, or even legs and belly. Each of these was awesome, putting those body parts into orgasm.
After that, I turned off the Hugo, and continued with just the Eupho. I was so enlivened by the Hugo, that the following session kept up the momentum, and just blew me away.
One thing I realized about the Hugo's patterns is that they roughly map to different fucking rhythms. I found myself just dying for the next cycle to come around, like a next thrust.
Now... will this work for you? At a price of $159, please be aware that it might, or it might not. This stuff varies across individuals. Also, if you are not already multi-orgasmic, I don't know if this will kick you over, maybe it will, maybe it won't. In sum, there is a risk here. It might transport you, or might be a very expensive vibrating paper weight. As more people experiment with it, we'll know more.

@darwinMan, that sounds really amazing! I've often thought about using a vibrator externally to transmit the vibes through the aneros, except I don't own a vibrator. I was actually thinking about getting a hitachi magic wand, especially after seeing all the different male attachments for it. I had thought those were just for women. I was even going to post a discussion on them when I read this and saw that you don't like them. Did you use any attachments for it? They have all sorts of attachments, like sleeves, g-spot, p-spot, etc. I'm interested to know if you had any experience with these before I spend a tonne of money on a lousy toy.
I just put my Hitachi Magic Wand in the pile to give away to Salvation Army (charity). The attachments ,in my view, are a joke. If the vibration sucks, it doesn't matter how you convey it. I have never noticed any difference in using a vibrator by varying the attachments.
That said, people differ on this. If the magic wand vibrations are the right frequency and amplitude for you, it will work. If not, it won't. The attachments are a distraction.
The thing that distinguishes the Hugo is that you can really vary the amplitude, the frequency is much slower, and the patterns really work. (The magic wand has no patterns, and only a lo/hi button)

Alright, thanks. That's good to know. I'm not going to completely rule it out quite yet but I'll have to think more about it.
External vibrations only work with a prostate toy for me but hoo-boy do they work. Moving the vibrator head around I can shift sensations. Tip of glans, on, over glans, top or under shaft, base of penis, stomach and pubic bone, P spot, on the toy, etc. Internal vibrations don't really do it for me but it is fun forcing them out. Very different feeling. I've never bought the attachments but they look like they'd never work or require awkward positions.
I bought a wireless Hitachi Wand for use and it's fun watching my wife put it to use.
@Engorged"they look like they'd never work or require awkward positions"
Ya, after reading some of the reviews for the P-spot attachment it seems unanimous that it is too awkward to be used solo. People do seem to enjoy it with a partner, though. I really am tempted to try it.
You know I never would have thought that it would do anything external but with a prostate toy it does make my body hum all around. It is a really strange feeling; like wanting to continue without the fear of going over. Sometimes the feelings aren't enough to cross thresholds but ugh they sure do feel devilishly good. Like someone tickling everything.
I have plenty of sleeves and dammit some of those sleeves transmit the vibes everywhere. I can't feel the highest setting (too harsh) but the one before just makes me drop. One of the rare times when I'm just floored with sensations. My wife teases the shit out of me now that she knows what it does.
I don't have any internal vibrating toys but have been eyeing a Lelo Billy. I love their toys; very well thought out, good build and materials are top notch. Maybe the next purchase will be one of these?
Darwin is this Lelo Hugo very noisy or whisper quiet? I need a vibe to be really quiet for privacy reasons.
Ah, and you're giving me more ideas on how to make my wallet even thinner! 🙂
Hey Flesh,
Not whisper quiet, that is asking too much. But quiet, particularly on the low settings. I did an experiment. Put it on low. placed it on the bed. I could not hear it from a distance of about six feet. On high it would be heard for sure.
Darwin
Super awesome!! Thanks Darwin. Imma get this Lelo Hugo as a gift to myself next month 🙂
I hope your results are getting better and better! Maybe a video would help spread the word, eh?
Flesh,
unless you take evasive maneuvers, it will start on high, and be loud.

@darwin, so you spoke of using the hitachi. Did you try that in the same manner, using it in conjunction with an aneros device? I'm curious because I have tried that and it did very little for me. I have also tried a few of the magic wand attachments and they did nothing also, FWIW. Also as an FYI, when I used my hitachi with my progasm it actually melted into each other. It left a hole in the wand and ruined the P tab of the progasm, so keep that in mind if someone is interested in trying that.
Thanks Darwin, for the clear instructions 🙂
@ineverknew, it would not matter how i used the hitachi, the result would be the same: numb nothing.

So placing the Hugo in the position you described, where is the P-spot arm, and where is the insertable arm?
So placing the Hugo in the position you described, where is the P-spot arm, and where is the insertable arm?
the lelo is lying on the bed, i am lying on top of it, with it entirely external to me. the arms are pointing towards my feet. my butt is lying on it, with the arm of the Y in my crack.
i had session #7 with Lelo Hugo last night, using technique described in original post.
the Hugo has moved me to a new level. I had an uncountable number or orgasms last night, each wrenchingly powerful, beyond my past experiences. i was holding on to my penis for dear life as it and my prostate had ongoing intense mega-force dry ejaculations (pre-cum only)
it may be that others are already this level so maybe this won't be a big deal for you.
i can now say that it would not surprise me if this tool proves to be helpful for struggling newbies, thought the standard "everybody is different" caveat applies.

Glad it is working out for you. I actually do like the way lelo Hugo fits inside, but it is a lot more pressure on the prostate. Sometimes I'm in the mood for that, sometimes I'm not. If I want somethings little bit more relaxing, I use the L'amarose Rosa Rouge. It is basically the same as lelo Hugo, the same strong rumbly low frequency vibrations, except fits in more like a progasm ice. It's actually a bit bigger than progasm ice I think, but easy to get in and maybe even more comfortable. It also flexes a bit at the base, so I think that makes it feel more comfy.
Anyways, I use the vibes of either toy externally too like on my dick, nipples, etc. That's fun. Have never used it the way you describe here, actually have a hard time visualizing exactly what u are doing, but want to give it a try. I know the vibes are so strong that even pressing the toy between my balls and perenium I can easily feel the vibrations tingling pretty deep around my prostate.

a quick update on the Lelo Hugo.
My success with this device continues to grow, using the approach originally described (laying on top of it, rather than inserting). Last night i rode it for a blissful half-hour before switching to eupho syn.
I did make another go of inserting it, and, for me, that continues to be a no go. It doesn't add any value, and, for me, puts very aggressive (too much) pressure on my insides.
anybody else gonna throw down the bucks for this, and give a report?
Darwin.
I actually tried this method yesterday. It felt good, but still like putting it inside more I think. I like the pressure on the prostate (at times). Although, laying on it and having the progasm ice in was something I enjoyed for a bit too 🙂
I do have the Hugo and tried this position, but I tend to want to move and shift a lot in my sessions. This got me thinking, wouldn't it be great if Aneros models were all designed to have some sort of insertable or mountable vibe? One that was interchangeable from model to model, so one would only need to purchase the vibe once and the models would simply need to be designed to accommodate that option.
I got myself a lelo, very very happy with the purchase. I use it internally, not like Darwin, and it really makes me get all tingly and happy 🙂
One important thing -- I use only the very lowest power setting, and so far I've only used the first vibration pattern, a steady low rumble. Very pleasurable, makes my muscles really work hard.
Higher power settings do desensitize me,, but this low rumble is creating waves of tingling pleasure and pressure in my entire abdomen.
