Aneros and Testosterone

I have always been curious if there is a correlation between a person's testosterone level and their aneros success. Some facts (at least as far as I know):

-Testosterone level impacts libido in both men and women. If testosterone is too low, sexual desire diminishes.
-As men age, their testosterone level decreases

Based on discussions on the forum and in the chat, I get the impression that the younger guys often have more trouble getting the aneros to work. I have always assumed this is because older men are more patient and more willing to let go of control. Life has taught us (at least me) that good things sometimes take time and many things in life are outside of our control. However, I've been wondering if success might be tied to the lower testosterone levels of older men. Perhaps the lower hormone level reduces the libido just enough to allow more patience in getting to sexual gratification. Or, maybe there's a more direct influence from the hormone. I can't help but wonder if a woman's multi-orgasmic ability and her lower testosterone level (relative to men) are somehow related.

Of course, the most scientific way to test this theory would be to plot a whole bunch of testosterone levels vs. the corresponding aneros success ratings. This is clearly not practical. As a quick and dirty substitute, I was thinking that if there were men here who were using aneros before and after Hormone Replacement Therapy, it might give some insight as to whether or not there is any hormone/aneros correlation.

So, if you're one of these guys and are willing to share, please do.

dtmsmith,

I'm one of those men. I have been on Testosterone replacement for about three years. It is part of a regimen that includes thyroid, progesterone, and testosterone. I was dealing with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and sick constantly. About two months after beginning the therapy I was getting healthier and sleeping better. And then WHAM, sex returned after an absence of many years. (I have an amazingly patient wife.)

It was as if we were newlyweds, discovering sex all over again. We both were reaching levels of comfort with our bodies and new explorations when I discovered the Aneros site. I ordered my Helix and have been having a lot of fun with it since. So, higher testosterone levels plus the Aneros have increased pleasure many fold.

Yes, I do believe that, for me, my patience level is much higher now than when I was younger. I think it has paid off with my Aneros journey. I don't know if it is because of age or my experience with hormone replacement therapy that has made my journey so great, but I do know that I am so very grateful for discovering it.

Hello dtmsmith
Here is my experience. I have been using the aneros already for about 2 1/2 years. About 6 month ago I had my regular physical with my primary doctor and everything came back fine except my testosterone level was too low. That is why I was always sleepy, tired among many other things. I have always been a very sexual person but somehow I felt that I was getting nowhere with my aneros sessions.

When my doctor suggested that I needed to start taking testosterone he suggested instead of taking a weekly or bi-weekly injection he also mentioned that there was a better way of having testosterone put in to my body and this was by implanting testosterone pellets by a small incision in my bum. The testosterone pellets are inserted by your primary doctor 4 times a year. This depends on every individual. It only takes less than 5 minutes and it is pain free. He numbs the area and before you know he tells you "you can go now".

This was the best thing that ever happened to me. I feel like I'm 18 again in so many ways but my aneros sessions are much better. I have made incredible improvements since my first implant. So yes for me it's been a great improvement. I now have daily aneros sessions with not having to wait a day or two just to have better results.

Hope this helps.

Joey

I can't help but wonder if a woman's multi-orgasmic ability and her lower testosterone level (relative to men) are somehow related.

I thought men and women as they grow old move in contrary direction in regards to testosteron. Whereas men's testosteron and sexdrive decreases, women's INCREASES as they grow old.
So as women are starting to grow a nice little moustache their sexdrive increases.

So I don't think there's a link between testosteron and being multi-orgasmic as I doubt women would lose that ability as their testosteron increases.

On a side note, I do recall there being a relationship between weightlifting and testosteron and I can't say this has affected my Aneros-session adversely

I am glad for you with the pellet business. My G P is suggesting pellets for me too. How old are you and what did the pellets do for your erectile health if that is not too personal a question to ask? For others on this website, what form of T supplementation are you on? Shots? If so how often do you inject?

Compounded cream? How do you men keep the Testosterone from aromatising to Estrogen? Is that a problem.

Thanks for all your input.

I have been on Androgel and in the last year moved to shots. I started out on testosterone cypionate once every 3 weeks and did not like the "Highs and Lows"
that go with that method. I also found that with that medicine it causes my body to retain water. For the last 6 months have moved to testosterone ethanate and taking a shot once a week with greater sucess and not retaing as much water. I have found my mood swings to be more normal and greater sex drive. I feel like I did when I was in early twentys versus being 45. I hope this helps.

Women's testosterone does not increase as they age, it decreases. However their estrogen decreases more so the balance changes and you get lip hair, etc.

dtmsmith,
Clearly it is known that at proper levels testosterone affects vasomotor symptoms, lubrication and vaginal atrophy and orgasm. After menopause women's testosterone drops significantly, as 50% of a woman's testosterone comes from her ovaries. Therefore, after menopause or a hysterectomy a woman will have a decreased libido and less estrogen is produced.
A big factor for women and the ability to orgasm is their pelvic floor muscles. When a woman is in her youth, "everything" is where it should be at that time. After childbirth the pelvic floor weakens, and with increasing age the pelvic floor moves closer to the labia and after menopause the vagina moves closer as well. This doesn't allow for lack of a better term, "traction" that could help a woman have an orgasm.
A positive thing for women is they can do kegel exercises to increase and maintain their musculature in their pelvic floor.
There are testosterone treatments for women as well.

Nurselady, don't know if you're aware but Zane goes into considerable depth about the role of the pelvic floor muscles in her book "The Orgasmic Diet.." (here) very interesting reading! Thanks to the both of you for the female perspective on testosterone. It's a popular misconception among men that it is strictly a male hormone. Oh, and let's hear it for traction !

There is another option for us older guys and their women for that matter concerning testosterone. This is a product I have used for some time and enthusiastically endorse as very effective in the treatment of low testosterone. As you will learn from the faq's at this link Unbind Natural Testosterone For Adrenal Support: Men's Formula with Muira Puama & Catuaba and further here Naturally Balancing Hormones & Anti-Aging Program -- Natural Health Newsletter , our bodies still make the testosterone, its just that it becomes bound up chemically so our bodies can't use it. This product releases the bound up testosterone naturally without a need for synthetic testosterone therapy. It come from my favorite web based doctor / health provider who makes a multitude of very high quality health supplement products. When purchased in volume or with other products in quantity the cost is about $25 for a months supply. At basically $1 a day I highly recommend it.

I would just like to say that I have been using a product called Youth Tissue Extract, and that I believe it has really helped keep my T levels up.
