I'm new to this and am concerned about the cosmetic/physical effects on the anus. In taking a look at some of the available videos of guys using the Aneros, it seems that, to put it bluntly, their anal openings look red and swollen, and sticking out rather than being inside the sphincter. Basically, it looks like red and swollen labia around the Aneros, which is, as I understand it, not how a butt would look ordinarily. Sorry about the lack of proper medical terminology, but I think my point is rather clear. Can anyone comment on this? I wouldn't want any of those effects as it would probably ruin my marriage (that's not intended to judge anyone or to let anyone judge my wife -- it's just the facts).
Thanks,
Ben
Fear not. I've been using various toys like this for about a year and a half, and there are no visible changes.
I think what you've seen in those videos is the end result of a different type of activity. Frequent anal intercourse or frequent playing with "thrusting" types of anal toys could lead to those bodily changes, but so far I've seen no changes whatsoever, and I not only use the Maximus but the even larger Nexus Nero.
Based on the size of the Nero with no adverse changes, I'd say that you're pretty darn safe with any of the Aneros products not leading to unwanted changes in the appearance of your body.

esquire78,
Not sure which video that you're referring to, but suffice it to say that none of the Aneros are large enough to cause damage to the anus, particularly when used as directed. Again, not knowing which video is in question here, and if it really tearing that is in evidence, I am fairly certain that this did not come from use of the Aneros. Bear in mind that these devices were designed by a doctor, not some guy who makes dildos and butt plugs.

P.S. With respect to the imitator products that are available, I would say that that they fall into the latter catagory above. I have evaluated them myself and would not recommend them to others at this time....but each to his own.
esquire78,
If you went to www.anerosvideos.com, then I could understand your reaction. Although, it's usually a matter of personal taste, I had the same reaction at that site. Some of the participants appear to have abused themselves and pursued aggressive prostate "milking" tangents. To me, the Aneros is very hands off with the body controlling the activity. This mostly subtle approach seems very inconsistent with those focused on the active hands on activity of the prostate milking community. Hopefully that doesn't further confuse you.
It would be interesting to know the video site you had visited or the video you had watched.

Thanks for the replies, all. You are right that my concerns were prompted by anerosvideos.com, and, for example, the video at http://www.anerosvideos.com/Media/Videos/stripload.wmv .
I'd appreciate some insight as to whether this kind of thing could happen. Thanks again.

Esquire,
All I can say is that I had exactly the same reaction to the same video on the same web site. The Anerosvideos.com site is misnamed as far as I am concerned. Limited stuff and much of it non Aneros orientated. In fact, on this forum, most threads would say you actually can not see much of anything on a video associated with the Aneros....since it is mostly a set of internal feelings.
When I first saw that specific video, I wrote it off immediately as abusive. A non Aneros process. Non Aneros model. Non hands off. Prostate milking. I think they even have a forum or site on the Adult Group section of Yahoo to support that interest area. Some folks live for that...and everyone should pursue their own preferences...but if you read the Aneros forum, instructions, and recommendations, this reflects a different thing than the video on that site.
But, that is my personal opinion. Sometimes the Aneros support group will answer questions concerning health on this forum so they might comment as well.
Hope you give it a try and report back in a few weeks.

Only go to that website if you want to be thoroughly grossed out!!! One guy looks like he's been castrated, and another has hardly any penis at all, and most of the others have some really ugly looking equipment! The quality of some of the images is attrocious. I must admit though, after seeing some of those specimens, I see myself as being quite handsome, not to mention well endowed!
