All prostates are NOT created equal

Trans-urethral needle ablation (TUNA) for BPH. I had this procedure done yesterday. They use a special device with needles to burn or ablate the prostate tissue surrounding the urethra so that urination flow can be improved. You get some Valium, a pain killer and they try to numb the prostate so it's not supposed to hurt much. I was told on a scale of 1-10 that it would be about a 3. Nope, hurt nothing I've felt before, more like a 7 that lasted for the better part of 40 minutes. Question: is it possible that there is a vast range of prostate sensitivity?

It might explain why I am able to stimulate my prostate into orgasm, even A-less, with little effort while others struggle to reach any kind of orgasmic feelings. That might also explain why some nubs achieve success quickly while others struggle for years. Are all prostates not created equal?

@MO_Bosco Rather than comment on your question, I just want to say that after reading about the TUNA method, I admire you for your courage and bravery! This must have been a difficult thing for you to endure and I am sure that the whole Aneros "team" wishes for your successful recovery!

Thanks @goldenboy
I have fully recovered but, I would not advise this procedure without general anesthesia.

I'm curious, how bad was your prostate that they opted to do this procedure? I'm having some issue with BPH, but don't know if it's bad enough that they will want to do this to me.

@Haas My bladder flow rate was about half the normal. There's a simple in office test they do for that. You basically pee into a bucket that has a weight scale. He was concerned about prolonged constriction that would negatively affect my bladder function over time. The flow restriction causes bladder apathy/distention that can lead to bladder incontinence. He also did a scope of the urethra all the way to the bladder to rule out obstructions. That was not painful. There is also a staple system but that is not covered by my BCBS insurance.
