A quick question about the P-tab

Hi all, I've been waffling on whether or not to get an Aneros for a little while now, and there is one big thing that is holding me back from taking the plunge, so to speak.

I am a post-op male-to-female transsexual, and before my surgery, I had enjoyed anal play on occasion. My prostate wasn't touched by the surgery, though it has shrunk a little due to lack of testosterone in my system. But it still has sensation, so I thought that the Aneros might be something that would be interesting and fun to try. However, I'm worried about the P-tab placement, as I'm not sure if there is enough space between my anus and the neo-vagina for the P-tab to reliably rest and act as a pivot point/placement guide. If the P-tab were to say, slip in to my vagina, would that fundamentally change the ability of the Helix (the model I'm considering) to function or reach the prostate?

I know that the Peridise is an option, but with it being a gender-neutral toy I'm not sure how well it will function in terms of prostate stimulation as compared the Helix.

I tried a few searches through the Aneros forums to see if this subject had been broached in the past, but was unable to find any references at all.

If anyone has any expert advice or opinions on the matter, I'd love to hear them.

Thanks!

First off, let me congratulate you on the courage you had to face the challenges associated with a gender change.

Regarding your question, the p tab, presses against the perennium when drawn inside your body. The aneros then pivots pressing against the prostate. I suspect that if the p tab slipped into your vagina, the aneros would not press against the prostate as much, sort of defeating the purpose. Although maybe it would allow the aneros to be drawn in even deeper.

I would suggest the peridise. I can get great sensations and orgasms from it although I am still surprised that it works so effectively. I love my helix, but I am anatomically different than you are now.

If you do go with the helix, I sure would be interested in how it works for you.

The peridise is very under-rated in my humble opinion. It can stir up some good feelings in even though it is really small. Would it be possible to have something inserted into your neo-vagina to act as a pivot point if the p-tab were to land there? Just an idea.

I'd be a bit surprised if the p-tab slipped into your vag, because it doesn't reach far. But yes, peridise is a safe choice.

I don't mean to sound disrespectful, but have you tried plugging your vagina ?

Also, you're in the unique position to use both a dildo and Aneros at the same time. Tell us how it goes !

fr0mthe4shes,

Welcome to the Aneros Forum, I believe we have only had one other member here identify themselves as transgendered, so there are scant few posts to which we could effectively point you.

While the Peridise & TEMPO models are good options for anal stimulation, neither of those two models will give you substantial prostate massage/stimulation.

I think you will be able to make use of some of the Aneros massagers (MGX-Classic, Helix-Classic, Eupho-Classic, Maximus-Classic, Progasm-Classic or Progasm Jr.) regardless of your reconstructed anatomy. The exact manner will be dependent upon where your plastic surgeon constructed your new vagina, that is, how much space was left in the perineal area. There may already be sufficient space to accommodate the P-tab with no problem. However, if the space has been diminished, you may still be able to use an Aneros by modifying the P-tab arm in the manner as described in the Aneros WIKI (see P-tab arm).

Even if the P-tab were to slip into your vagina, I think your pelvic floor muscles could still be effectively utilized to maneuver your Aneros for prostate massage. A third interesting prospect/option is to consider the new EVI model designed for women but which may also work for transgendered men if their constructed vaginas can accommodate the size.
Good Vibes to You !

OK, here's a suggestion that might be odd, but maybe modify some really sturdy underwear to wear while using an aneros - just cut a hole for the anus & keep the p-tab on the outside of the undies. Good luck.

Thank you for the kind words, Gilman. It's been quite a journey, though I have to say I had a very smooth transition. I had some initial difficulty with family (my father had a very hard time coming to terms with me), but things eventually worked out. I can say that I'm much happier these days than in my youth.

I have considered going the DP route and simply 'occupying' my front end at the same time as some of you have suggested, but that does run the difficulty of making the whole experience considerably less 'hands-free' - and in the 1 - 2 hour long sessions some of you have described, I think that would make my arm a little tired 🙂

I wasn't aware that the P-tab could be so easily modified with a heat gun though! That sounds really promising. Do you know if it would still work with the Syn models? It looks like there's a coating of silicon on the front tab as well.

From what I remember from reading, the prostate ends up "above" the new vagina, in a similar position to a woman's g-spot. Have you considered the Evi as an option?

Hi @fr0mthe4shes welcome to the forum.I hope you will enjoy your experience with this forum and its members. On the whole we seem like a very open and respectful lot. If you do decide to go down the aneros path I would urge you to keep a blog of your journey as this might help any other transgender persons in the future. Your transgender status is very interesting. I am sure I am not the only one here that has questions if you felt like answering them.
Im not sure how many men would admit to it but There has been more than a few times that I have wondered what it would be like to be the opposite sex for a day or a week or whatever.

If you ever decide to share your experience then I am sure you would have a large audience on this forum.
Of course you do not have to at all, I am just putting it out there that people might be interested if you felt so inclined.
It takes all kinds of people to make up this world of ours and if we stopped and just listened to what people had to say and not just make judgements on them, then our would be a better place.

I think it's pretty normal to wonder what it would be like to be the other sex. I've definitely wondered about it.

I'm pretty open to questions if anybody has them. In terms of sharing my experience (I'm assuming you're referring to my transition) it's a rather long story with lots of introspection and self examination, coming to terms with one's self, general philosophy on life, etc. It'd take forever to put down on paper (or at least, I like to think so), and I'm sure that not everyone is interested in *all* the aspects of my life. Plus I'd not entirely sure if I'd come across as too preachy about my own personal beliefs.

But I'm more than happy to answer specific questions if people have them. If privacy is a concern, feel free to send me a PM or however that works on these forums. Who knows, if it works out and there's enough interest, I may find myself writing some kind of blog anyways.

Hi @Chrysalis I did a little reading before asking these questions but did not really find a definitive answer.I looked at the process of your procedure to get a idea but it is a little confusing to say the least.
All I can say is you are one gutsy chick to go through that and I really hope the end result is all you hoped for.

My questions sort of are related to each other.
Feeling....
Do you get feeling in your new vagina?
If you do are you able to orgasm? As I understand it the penis is sort of turned into a clit.
Not sure how off base I am here.

Is it like loosing a limb? Do you feel your old penis/balls there but look down and their gone?

I wont even pretend to understand what you felt being stuck in a boys body and all the time knowing you should be a girl. That really must have done your head in.

Now that you have had your gender actually changed I assume you use the women's toilets and change rooms.
How have the women reacted? Are they blissfully unaware or have they noticed somehow and given you a hard time.

I hope these questions are ok, I mean no offence by any of them I am just curious as it is not every day you meet a girl that has been a boy in another life after all.

I happen to know a post-op transgender lady. She described a feeling of great joy to look down and see that it was gone. The disconnect between her mental body image and her actual body had been resolved.

I always feel a little odd when people tell me I'm courageous or gutsy. In my mind it was kind of like 'This is something I have to do, so let's do it'. There was never really any doubt in my mind once I got started, and I never looked back.

Getting the nerve to go ahead and start my transition took some planning, and I probably ended up changing a few of my career goals (med school would take too long and cost too much). I needed to be financially independent so that if my support system dropped out from underneath me it would not hinder me. Kind of cold hearted, but I had to get to the point where I would be able to walk away from friends and family if I had to (fortunately I didn't).

As to my vagina, I actually get a TON of feeling in it. I am quite orgasmic, I am very happy to say. The sensations I get from it are different, but somewhat reminiscent to what I used to have. The doctor I had was very good at salvaging what sensitive material he could, which I am grateful for. They actually just use the glans for the clitoris, sort of dissect away the shaft (corpus spongiosum and corpus cavernosa) and shorten the urethra. There's a few other bits they use I think, and the skin is saved to form the vagina and the labia.

Anatomically, I have to admit I am also at a bit of a loss as to where everything is located in relation to each other either. One previous poster asked if my prostate was located 'above' my vagina. I have to sort of assume this is correct, as the prostate is located directly inferior to the bladder, and there's not really any way for the vagina to go between them.

I can't say that I've had any phantom limb sensations from down there, and I don't miss it at all. I can hardly even remember what it felt like to have dangly bits down there. Though I will admit that I have had one or two odd dreams where it was back.

These days I do use all the associated correct bathrooms and change rooms. Most women are blissfully unaware, or if they do notice, they've never said anything to me.

Your take charge attitude is quite apparent and I and others obviously are envious, perhaps not for the same reasons, of your strength to face life challenges and be true to yourself. I never knew a transgendered person, but recall vividly the struggle my closest cousin went through dealing with being gay and the familiy's reaction. This was many years ago when many folks with alternative life styles were forced to live in the closet.

I have a few questions that I always wondered about but could never ask, so I appreciate the opportunity.

First, what are your orgasms like? Are they still traditionally "male?" An orgasm followed by a long refractory period, or are they more "female-like" with multiple orgasms?

Also, since your reconstruction didn't alter your prostate, do you still ejaculate?

I am still in awe of the surgical ability to rearrange tissue in a way that maintains functionality male to female. It is reminiscent of the alterations occurring during the embryonic developmental stages as we humans develop into a male or female.

I certainly wish you well on your life journey.

@Chrysalis thanks, very well answered indeed. When I said you were gutsy to go through all that I ment mostly the operation its self. I understand that you never doubted it had to be done. I have been through foot reconstruction surgery myself so get what you mean it has to happen so you just do it and take your chances. Thats gutsy some people cant make the decision or cower before it.My foot was smashed into 20 pieces.Surgery had to happen i was going to walk again no matter what they tried to tell me. You just do it.
I am really glad you have so much feeling and have not been given a bad time. Life would have been bad enough before hand knowing you were built wrong and it is great to see the results are all positive post op.
There is nothing wrong with being self sufficient. it is not cold at all. Good call.
It will be real interesting to see what simulation you get from the aneros if you go down the road.
We will find out if the penis has anything to do with the aneros practice at all, once and for all 🙂

I certainly wish you well on your life journey.I am sorry to hear about your cousin's difficulties. Social stigma is very hard to live and deal with, and I'm glad to see that we as a society are slowly moving away from some of the more judgemental views we used to have.

As for what my orgasms are like and how closely they relate to that of cis-gendered women, that can be a difficult thing to explain. A lot of literature states that male and female orgasms are essentially similar but perhaps our perception and interpretation of the experience can vary based on our perspective. But since I've only ever experienced 'male' orgasms before my transition, it can be hard to compare. It's like trying to describe the taste of apples to someone who has only ever eaten oranges, and vice versa.

Are my orgasms different now? I think so, yes (it's been 7 years since my surgery, so details can be fuzzy). Are they better? I think it's more personal preference, so in a way, yes.

For me it's like a building pressure, almost like an urgency, slowly (or sometimes quickly!) ramping up until it finally triggers, like a wave crashing through me. My body clenches, and I experience some rhythmic contractions from down there (I'm thinking pubococcygeal muscles, since I'm pretty sure my vaginal walls don't have muscle). Sometimes there is a second wave, somewhat lesser, that quickly follows the intial release. It is then usually followed by several... aftershocks... I guess would be the best word to describe it, causing more contractions over the next several seconds. My concept of time during this is understandably spotty 😛

My orgasms can vary in intensity, depending on how aroused and excited I am. If it's particularly intense I'm usually done for a while, I get a little hyper sensitive down there and lose some interest. Sometimes if it's rather minor I may try to build up to another one, though it usually takes longer.

My prostate is still intact, and that includes the seminal vesicles, so that theoretically means that I have the necessary organs to produce seminal fluid, but as far as I can tell, I don't ejaculate. Not entirely sure why, but it doesn't really bother me. I don't lubricate naturally either, so I need lube before I engage in anything.

The surgery is one of the major positive sides of being male to female. It's a bit of a trade off.... FTMs (female to male) get amazingly effective hormone therapy, but the bottom surgery doesn't yield as functional results as ours does, however our hormone therapy isn't quite as effective at changing our bodies.

Orthopaedic surgery is one of the things that worries me the most. It's hard to imagine losing the functionality of extremities that you rely on every day to function at a normal level. I work in medical imaging, so I've seen first hand many of the results of surgeries like yours. The rehabilitation involved is daunting, to say the least. I commend you for your strength and willpower.

As for the Helix, it will be very interesting to see if I can get it to work and 'awaken' my prostate and to see if it is at all similar to what I experience as orgasm right now, given it's new positioning. But after looking at some more information, the evi looks like something that would be interesting to experiment with as well. We shall have to see.

It is often asked if the use of an Aneros has changed your life.

Being introduced to this topic by a wonderfully open and articulate person, in an accepting forum such as this, is the change. You have opened new doors of understanding for all of us.

Thank you so much for your willingness to answer our questions. I hope you continue to post and share.

So I received a helix in the mail today. It was a bit smaller than I actually expected it to be. However, upon insertion, I found that the P tab sits right at the opening to my vagina. In fact, if I push it in further, in comes into contact with my urethral opening.

Not sure if repositioning the p tab with a heat gun will work either; I would have to fold the p tab almost all the way to the base of the helix and I'm not sure if it would apply proper pressure that way.

On a different note... I was doing some reading and I've seen an 'urge to pee' sensation mentioned many times throughout several posts, which made me recall that one time when I was using my fingers to get some satisfaction, I had that same sensation a few times.

Thus it would appear that twlltin was correct that my prostate is probably above my vagina. Its starting to sound like the evi and the peridise might be the way to go. Still, if the relative position of the prostate is unchanged, I wonder if the helix can stimulate the prostate through the walls of both my rectum and my vagina?

A question for the rest of you though.... how much pressure does the p tab usually exert upon your perinium?

Once you have mastered it use it really does not have much but when you are learning and contrating lots the bloody thing can start to hurt. so a fare bit. So it sounds like your perineum is gone. peridise sounds like the go! or maybe one of the double penetration vibrating dildo things.

The pressure can be great and bothers some beginners causing them to pad it with tissue paper.

I was wondering if using it via the vagina would reach the prostate better. I guess you can have some fun experimenting. Good luck.

Normally, if a person is sensitive to the ptab on the classics, I'd recommend a Syn model. They are more flexible and therefore easier on the perineum. @gilman is right, the classic models, especially the MGX can exert a LOT of pressure.

I think you are on the right track, try a Peridise or a Evi. Heck, why not both at the same time? I'm jealous. Don't be fooled by the little Peridise, it can do amazing things. And don't worry about buying two of the darned things, lots of us have tried them all out! They are all fun and all different.

@Chrysalis Dont know if you bought from Aneros here but if it is not going to be any good for you then contact support and change it over for the peridise.Just a thought! 90 day warranty

Bending the ptab will not help you as the ptab is a important part of the device and if you dont have a perineum then you can not get the feed back loop happening between the perineum and pc muscles. It just wont work!

I'm with @braveneworld. Did it work for you? What mods did you have to make? Have you tried using a pair of panties so the P-tab still works as a fulcrum? Have you tried the larger Aneros models? I would think that since your prostate has shrunk, something like the Maximus or Progasm might work better for you.

Hello! It's been a while. As to your question, I ended up getting a Peridise set and was working with those to begin with.

I was working my way down in sizes with them with the occasional session with the helix thrown in. Interestingly enough, I found that I was getting more responses as I went down in a smaller size with the Peridise, and yet, was still having similar yet different sensations with the Helix.

The main problem is that, like we mentioned before, that the lack of a spot for the p-tab to press against makes it difficult to apply pressure in the right area. I've been toying with making a pad of some sort to make a platform or something for it to rest against, but I'm not sure what materials to use as of yet.

Sometimes I hook a finger around the bend of the p-tab to hold it in position but that kind of defeats the purpose of being hands free.

I'm not sure if the sensations are harder for me to experiences or are muted because of the extra layer of tissue my anatomy presents (my prostate being located superior to my neo-vagina) but it seems to be working.

However, more recently life has gotten in the way and I have actually fallen out of use with the aneros, but when things clear up and I have more free time I'm hoping to pick up where I left off... or at least, relatively close to there.

Good To hear from you @Chrysalis. Easy suggestion maybe put a sanitary napkin under the ptab. like a maxipad maybe I would assume they have cut away "the million dollar spot" so the pressure is not important just the anchorage of the ptab itsself.

Yes the smallest ptab will move the most out of the set but not nesasarally give you the best orgasm.
There are two camps. The largest gives amazing orgasms or the small one does it just depends on the user.
It will defiantly take practice to get to the amazing orgasms either way.

If you want to help things along i might suggest using the smallest one and have a jar of Vaseline near the bed. Coat the peridise with Vaseline and pop it in when you go to bed. enjoy the sensations while you are awake and fall off to sleep. If you wake just slightly at night if it is not working already then suck it in a bit to get the motion going and enjoy it till you sleep. and so on and so on. The vasoline will last all night and in the morning just take it out and wipe it with a tissue. you can wash it with warm water and soap each time or if there is no nastys on it just use it again a few times with a clean every few days The beauty of the smallest one is you can sleep with it in without any problems at all, it really does not stop you getting good sleep. If you have wind it will pass the paridise easily because it is so small.
It does however make me get erections through the night especially when laying on my front, but that wont be a concern for you at all.
Do you get sexualy arroused when stimulated or is the new equipment mostly for show? (if you know what i mean) I know it has way way more meaning to you as it makes you who you are and feel like you should ie Female.
Its been a long time i dont remember i think you said you had some feeling as something was done with nerve endings.

Your peridise use does not have to be a big deal it can be just a thing you do when you go to sleep like brushing your teeth as long as you have been number two and or feel empty ish. a good diet helps:)
Hope things in life are going ok, hope you are well and there is not too much drama .

I'm not too sure about using a sanitary napkin... I think unless I was using a really thick one (I don't have periods so never bought them) I'd have to fold it up or something. Also, they have a sticky side to go stay in place in your underwear. But I was thinking of something along those lines to create a 'cover plate' for the p-tab to anchor on. (Also I think maybe the p-tab would just push the pad inside me - eww)

I have been a bit leery of using the peridise over night.... haven't built up the gumption to give it a try. As for lube, I've been using shea butter; does that conflict with vaseline any? I have both, I just kind of liked the idea of using a more 'natural 'lube.

I absolutely get aroused when stimulated. The doctors did a very good job and I'm quite sensitive down there. Dr. Suporn has this personal technique where he relocates some of the more innervated tissues into certain areas prone to stimulation, so overall it's pretty enjoyable down there.

Life is calming down, now I just need less distractions and more time 🙂

Merry Christmas!

@Chrysalis,

I often sleep with either of the two smaller Peridise models inside and have never had a problem. (I guess you are worried it might get pulled completely in). Have never heard of that happening. If it has happened to anyone on this forum, would love to hear about it!

As to shea butter v Vaseline, I have used both without any problems. Prefer shea butter as it is easier to clean up and seems less greasy. I do use Vaseline when travelling as the drawback with shea butter is that it needs to be chilled in order to be solid enough to insert as a plug. (My preferred method of pre-lubing)!
