I had a similar experience about forty years ago when I was your age, and it was quite sore. After a few days some clear liquid pressed out of my nipple and then it all went away by itself. I never knew what it was and it has never returned. It may have been a cyst of some kind.

It definitely has nothing whatever to do with stimulating your nipples; I hadn't discovered mine back then!

So if I were you I'd watch it for a week and see if it gets better or worse. If it gets worse then see the doctor, but beware of knife-happy surgeons!

i will add that 20 year olds do get cancer. have you been performing testicular cancer checks on yourself? very important.

I’m not a doctor, but I know that age is not necessarily a cancer factor. Your lump may be many things other than cancer, but nonetheless it would be wise to have it checked out by a doctor if only to reassure yourself everything is OK. It is best to know what is happening in your body than allow the situation to continue unmonitored.

Other possibilities: mastitis, a sebaceous cyst or a lipoma (fat deposit underneath the skin). All of these are benign conditions, some can produce complications however. While breast cancer is not unknown in men under the age of 60 it is relatively rare indeed.

I would concur with the others that this should be checked into. If you're disinclined to tell your doctor about your self-stimulation, tell him that your girl friend has been into doing it for you. Whatever you tell your doctor, I would doubt that this will be the first time that he's heard it.

I would also agree with Darwin, that it's a good idea that you confide in a doctor about these matters.

Same thing happened to me last month. It was a scary experience. I enjoy having my nipples stimulated. My wife likes to lick, suck, pinch and diddle them when she wants me to cum. One night, we were having sex and halfway through she kind of lost interest. After I was done she told me that she felt a lump under my right nipple. (I told her she did the right thing and let me finish first before mentioning it!)

It was kind of hard to find for me. I had to lift my right hand over my head and feel around until I found it. It is roughly the size of my pinky finger from the tip to the first joint (about 3/4 of an inch long and thick as a sharpie marker). I couldn't sleep that night and the next day made a same-day appointment to see my doctor.

Before I saw my doctor so many things went through my mind- Could this be caused by nipple stim? Is it cancer? Am I gonna die? How long has it been there? Is this because of the aneros? Why me?

Actually I was rather surprised to find it. I'm a big guy- 6'3", 230 lbs. I work out 5 days a week and can bench 320 pounds. I am fairly vain and spend some time flexing in the mirror before or after a shower. (Don't we all?) When I flex I enjoy feeling the density of my muscles. I would say that I have felt around that particular area DAILY for over 20 years (since I was 18 and started working out). I never noticed any lump. It so happens that it is located UNDER the muscle.

So I get to the doctor, shaking in my pants. He feels the lump and schedules an emergency mammogram. That's right, I said mammogram. He informs me that it is rather unusual and due to the size of it he wanted more information immediately. I boldly asked if this could be caused from my wife stimulating my nipples and he laughed it off. (My wife was in the room with us at the time- I didn't want to say that I enjoyed sticking a piece of plastic up my ass and coating my nipples with vaseline while I rubbed them. So I "blamed" her.) He said that I could continue with my nipple play and not worry about it.

I arrive for my Mammogram 3 days later (thats as quick as they could do it.) I try to make light of the situation my proudly announcing to the counter girl that I was here for my "Man-o-gram". She had a nice laugh and told me to have a seat. There were about 10 women waiting- mostly grandma's. I get called in and the lady calling my name appears confused. She does a double take when she sees me coming and shakes her head, saying that this is a mammogram appointment. (Great now the whole waiting room knows.) I nod and inform her that I am in fact the patient. She apologizes and takes me in.

I get into the mammogram room and the technician tells me to take off my shirt. I am then instructed to stand with my chest facing a vise-like apparatus. She presses my back to force my chest into the vise as hard as she can and squeezes as much of my pec in there as she can. She then closes the vise and tells me not to breathe. (That shit was tight! I thought mammograms were a titty x-ray, but I was wrong!) She takes the images and tells me to go back and wait.

Thirty minutes later (let me tell you that was fucking LONG 30 minutes!) a doctor comes out and calls me in. This is not relevant but she was a hot Indian doctor with some HUGE titties! She tells me that the imaging does not tell her enough about the mass. She tells me that she wants me now to have a Ultrasound. She takes me to the ultrasound room and tells me to take off my shirt. She tells the ultrasound lady where to begin. They look around for a few minutes and she finally tells me that it's not Cancer. It's a benign cyst and nothing to worry about. She does not recommend having it removed. I ask about the number of male patients that have mammograms and she says that in one year there are under 10 that go through it. (Kaiser Permanente Sunset - one of the largest medical centers in California).

Ultimately everything turned out ok for me. I am debating whether or not to have it removed. I am leaning towards removal, but if I decide to keep him I think I'll name him Phillip.

Bottom line is- see your doctor. You never know what it could be. The chances of you dying from breast cancer is ASTRONOMICAL. Worst case scenario- it's cancer and they have to go in and remove it. It's not smart to sit there and hope it goes away. You want to experience super-o's for decades to come right?!?

Nice post Pnoman, for Devo and anyone else who might have issues in that area. It's scary and you took some the mystery away from it. I only recently heard about breast cancer in men. While not very common, it happens.

If you're feeling a hard material behind your nipple, it's possible it could simply be your hormones causing a bit of gynecomastia and could go away on it's own. However I would get this checked out regardless. Gynecomastia is male breast growth and fortunately will not harm you, but is very embarrasing to say the least. But yeah, go get it checked out by a professional.

Anyway, I went to see my doctor ~2 weeks ago and she said the lump was just a gland beneath my nipple which had become irritated. If it stays as it is I'm going to see her again, but I'll just wait for now. It doens't hurt anymore, but as far as I recall the size hasn't gone smaller. My doctor also mentioned something about hormones, but since I'm 20 I kinda got the picture it isn't likely that they would be causing this.

I also have an ultrasound in 3 weeks, just in case.

Wikipedia seems to think gynecomastia could be the result from low testosterone levels. What I was thinking was that could the high hormone levels and the stimulation aimed on the nipples somehow "awaken" the mammary glands in men, but also as the production of testosterone doesn't magically turn in to production of estrogen this does sound even more unlikely.

A poster guy for this is Bill Griffith of Channel 10 News, San Diego. Bill is a breast cancer survivor Aside from a few days away from the screen, we watched as he grew bald from chemo then went on to recovery.

During military service I had two friends diagnosed with breast cancer. Interestingly or co-incidentally, both of those gents were senior electricians who worked daily around high-powered equipment and switchboards.

So I've just had lumps appear in my left nipple and breast. I'm 24. At first I thought it was an insect bite as it started stinging suddenly but it's a few days later and it still hurts and more are popping up. Light pressure makes hurt more and even wearing a shirt irritates it. I started stimulating my nipples a few months ago when I got the aneros. I don't think this is a coincidence with especially my left nipple being more sensitive. I'll update after I've seen the doctor.

when you guys are talking about "behind the nipple" do you mean underneath the nipple (poking directly on the nipple) or around the nipple (flesh surrounding the nipple area).

i think i may have a mild, similar problem, but everyone says things like gyno are "underneath" but I have no idea where exactly underneath means.

you should see your doctor.......I had a pimple on my nipple and it was a syst the surgeon removed as a one day patient. It was benign...Dont wait, have it checked out.
