Hi all, this is my first post, and I am waiting to be able to share the same experiences many of you are.
I am straight, 20, and have been interested in anal play for a while, but never really did anything with it. I have had the Helix and the progasm since January(combo deal through DAB nutrition on amazon), but have been extremely stressed and not been using it (helix, haven't tried the progasm) until this month. Whenever I use it, time seems to slip away, but with little to no pleasurable sensations. I can feel a slight pulsing on my sphincter, and rarely I have gotten an 'itching' sensation somewhere in the middle down there, i can't really describe where. I cannot reproduce that sensation, it just comes seemingly randomly. Here are some of my pressing questions.

1.) Is the sphincter independent from the pubococcygeus muscle? I can flex my PC muscle and feel it only near my penis, however, if i hold it, a few seconds later the sphincter contracts. On the other hand, I can flex the sphincter directly, which is a much stronger contraction, however, this feels completely different, but i can still feel it in my groin. Which one should I be contracting?

2.) Should I be completely still except for the contractions and breathing?
3.) I am using un-petroleum jelly, it is rather thick, should I start off with something a little more slick?

I've been doing my sessions before I go to bed -- I'm a student living with family, so I don't really have any other time to be in my room for an hour. Could this be problematic?

Thank you in advance for your input.

Hi qwerty,

Welcome to the Forum,

1.) You can read about your pelvic floor muscles in the WIKI. During orgasm the three main muscle groups all go into involuntary contractions. You can learn to control the different muscles independently and in your learning explorations you should try flexing them in various combinations, sequences and intensities to find a combination that yields pleasurable results. It is not so much a matter of choosing one group over another as it is a matter of optimizing your combinations.
2.) It is not necessary to remain still during Aneros use, in fact many users actively gyrate, thrust and otherwise move during their sessions, the important aspect to consider is comfort and generating thoughts of arousal. Deep valley breathing can be a good aid to relaxing the mind and body, while it simultaneously energizes and oxygenates the circulatory system. The rhythmic movement of the diaphragm provides additional stimulation via subtle movement to the prostate and genitals.
3.) Lubrication is a frequently discussed topic on the Forum. I recommend you read the Lubrication section of the WIKI and then perhaps this thread for some lube answers. I think as long as the lube is adequate to maintain mobility and doesn’t irritate, it is doing its function. Lube choice is purely a matter of personal preference, the only “should” is ‘You should use lube’.
4.) Time constraints and distracting living situations can be problematic in your learning process. You need to assure yourself enough undisturbed time to relax and focus on your body for indeterminate periods. The process of rewiring and allowing the production of pleasure waves can not be forced into discreet time blocks or in the midst of social interaction. You will need quality alone time to optimize your learning curve.

Just felt something!
OK, I was just doing rhythmic contractions of my pc muscle, and a somewhat tingling sensation started to build up. It most definitely wasn't a bad feeling. But I can't tell if it was involuntary or not. all of a sudden, my penis became erect becasue i was fully clothed, and the feeling dissapated.
The funny thing is, it happened when I wasn't even concentrating on the feeling. I think that was important-i wasn't really expecting to feel anything and it happened.

I'm going to try this again...

A couple of tips...
1) This is a training experience for most and is not instantaneous. Think of it as a journey NOT a destination and focus on enjoying the journey.
2) Each person seems to develop a process that works for them. Here's mine:
-Warm the Helix and the lube in some body temp water for about 10 minutes before use.
-Make sure the rectum is free from waste. You can do this by either engaging in a session an hour+ after you've had your daily bowel movement (assuming you're as regular as most guys) or use a rectal syringe (available at Walgreens/CVS/etc.) and flushing out your rectum with some warm (again, body temp water)
-Insert a small amount of lube in your rectum (using a medicine dropper or medicine syringe, which they have by the hundreds and will give you for free when you ask at Walgreens/CVS). I have found either Maximus or Probe Thick and Rich give me the best results.
-I also use a small amount of a lubricant called Alboline (also available at Walgreens/CVS) on the outer rim and just right inside my anal sphincter. It is made from a combination of wax, petroleum jelly and mineral oil so it's very slick and greasy but it will last a long, long time around your sphincter...this keeps things slippery and moving.
-Once I get this prep done, I lay on my back, knees bent with feet close to my butt and insert the Aneros.
-I rest, relax and take deep breaths for a few minutes
-I then coat my nipples with Alboline and begin to rub them in a circular motion.
It all takes off from there. Prior to Aneros, I enjoyed nipple stimulation but it wasn't great. Now, it's the magic key to turn the process of prostate stimulation on. I immediately begin to feel the tickling, pleasant itchy feeling between my belly button and penis somewhere inside (it's hard to pint point were it is exactly).
-Once this feeling starts, it builds and builds over about 10-15 minutes, my anus is quivering and rythmically contracting and then it begins to start feeling like I'm ejaculating and my anus and rectum are alternately, automatically pushing out the unit and pulling it in and sometimes it feels like it's doing both at the same time. Wonderful waves of pleasure build, crest, subside then start all over. I'll get the feelings of electrical tingle in my legs, arms and even face that you get with a traditional orgasm.
-With the MDX, I'll get a stiff erection almost always but with the Helix, most of the time I don't. The Progasm is an either/or erection producer. With all of these I produce a pool of precum after about 20 minutes and this continues off and on throughout my sessions, which can last from one to two hours. It will get to the point where I become so sensitive I can feel a drop of precum moving it's way up my urethra and coming out the top of my glans. It's an incredible sensation. I'm not a very vocal person during normal sex but I've found that moaning with pleasure almost amplifies what you're feeling with this prostate massage and I just abandon myself to the pleasure and let myself go. It's the relaxation and this feeling on uninhibited enjoyment that frees you to truly experience all this has to offer. The more uptight or afraid or nervous you are, the more you'll be choking off the build up of the pleasurable sensations.
-I find that if I have an hour or two hour session and take a hour or two break, I can come back and pick it up from where I left off almost immediately.

Hope this was helpful. Relax, take your time and don't rush and linger over every little new sensation. You're on the road to experiencing a wealth of new bodily pleasures you never thought possible. Once you experience this, you'll never want it to stop. Good luck.

Hi newguy8762-

So for you holding a contraction is not necessary to get the involuntaries going?

No, I don't need to hold contractions anymore to get involuntary contractions going. The nipple stimulation sets it off for me. In fact, I have to consciously resist contracting and force myself to relax (if that makes sense) because if I clamp down too hard it kind of sets things back a step or two. This is a progressive building thing. Once I'm highly aroused, I can clamp harder and longer. At the start, I find I have to be more gentle. I've reached to point where I can get involuntaries going without any Aneros inserted...just nipple stimulation...convenient when I wake up with a raging stiffy in the middle of the night. Just rubbing the nipples now brings on awesome feelings. Like I said, this is a training experience. At first, I did have to focus on contracting. Now, it's focusing on relaxing and the sensations as they start to tickle. It took me about seven months to get to this point and I've been at this for almost two years now.

Hi newguy8762-

Thanks for the clarification. I’ve only had my Aneros for three months; hopefully in the future I will experience something similar.

Thanks newguy8762.
I've been a bit busy this week, but I think I will be able to try some stuff tonight or tomorrow.

Is it going to be problematic that I am not very regular with my Aneros sessions?

I don't think it's a problem if you don't practice a lot. It helps to put a couple days between sessions. Once you get rewired, you can go a couple weeks and pick back up. In the beginning, I'd try to do it a little more regularly as I think muscle and nerve conditioning from regular use help you get there initially.
