could aneros have a negitive affect on your sex life.... what do you think??
newby,
I am a bit skeptical about this article. First, the original stated premise is "...Premature Ejaculation caused by weak PC Muscle", if that is true (and I have never heard of this as a cause before) then doesn't it make sense to exercise those muscles to strengthen them and thus reduce the incidence of PE? Second, while the claim is made that "...abusing your PC muscles will cut short your ability to last long." why then do most urologists encourage both their male and female patients to practice Kegel exercises for the purpose of strengthening the PC muscles?
I think this may be a case of pseudo-science speak to convince you of a non-existent problem in order to sell you their herbal remedy.
The so called "Natural Ejaculation Control Technique" is also a bit dubious when "... it requires that you hold your breath for as long as possible...", this runs counter to most techniques which encourage a man to relax, breathe fully and regularly. Also the advice to "Contract your anus by clenching." is suspect; while to a certain extent you can separate anal and PC muscle contractions, when it comes to 'clenching' both muscle groups will contract, so doesn't this negate the whole exercise?
I'm not a doctor but this just seems a bit too far fetched for me to believe. I know through Aneros use my PC muscles have gotten much stronger and are in better shape than they were 20 years ago. I don't think Aneros users should be concerned about any kind of PC muscle "abuse" as long as they are taking reasonable time periods between Anerosessions to allow their muscles time to recover, rebuild and re-energize themselves. Obviously, one needs to practice moderation in any endeavor to avoid potential problems from occurring.
Aside from the breathing and mental recommendations the recommendations in the article run counter to the training and handouts my Uro provides his patients. (He's Chief of Service at a large teaching hospital).
Kegel training is one of the therapies recommended to deal with P.E. and erectile problems in the Yahoo A-S-I group. Before I'd buy into discontinuing those recommendations I'd like to see some peer-reviewed data to support the statements. I'll keep my eyes open and post here should I find something to support the Hervallove suggestions. ... rook
