10 minutes of relaxation--yes or no?

I've seen a lot of people talk about the ten minutes of relaxation at the beginning of their Aneros sessions. However, I often find that my body wants to start semi-voluntary contractions almost immediately after insertion. Do you do the ten minutes (or some set time) of relaxation always, sometimes, or never, and why?

EDIT: poll, check. http://www.aneros.com/forum/f6/how-much-time-do-you-spend-relaxing-15717/

MindTravels;

In my first month of Aneros use, it sometimes took 30 minutes to relax enough for involuntary contractions to start. Now seven months in, the contractions start themselves within a minute of insertion whether I'm relaxed or not.

Maybe you should start a community poll and find out what the average is.

Cheers,

Dave

The only reason for the suggestion of ten minutes relaxation at the beginning of a session is to ensure that your body is comfortable with the presence of the device.

I wouldn't advise any specific length of time for this introductory period. Just accept whatever your body feels is required. For some, it may be ten minutes, for others only a few seconds might be necessary.

For me, it depends on how I feel on the day and even on which model I'm using. The bigger the device, the longer might be the time for initial relaxation.

Let you body tell you when it is ready to start work and just enjoy the ride!

So in the poll, the question came up of whether during this relaxation period, there were any involuntary contractions. I sometimes wondered if I should be perfectly still with no contractions during this period (suppress the involuntaries) but I guess this is likely to be totally counterproductive.

I've felt involuntary contractions within a minute of insertion but whenever "I've gone with them" and proceeded to an orgasm as quickly as those contractions "wanted to come" it seemed to be less intense than when I relaxed for at least somewhere between 5 and 10 minutes. Seems the slower I let the overall process build up to the O (I use a Eupho) the more incredible and overwhelming it feels when it gets there. Any guys with similar impressions?

I find the best thing to do is just take a shower before hand and you'll be nice and relaxed and clean for your session. Not just a quicky either, one of those stare-at-the-wall showers where you soak up the heat and steam while clearing your mind.

In almost all cases, I have taken a shower before I begin use. I am beginning to become practiced enough to establish a routine. I use a lube injector and insert plenty of it, this alone feels very good. I also lube the anus and area around it. Then, slowly I insert the progasm (it is becoming less and less uncomfortable). I relax, not thinking about an orgasm but I begin to shudder with involuntary spasms, growing in frequency. I do my deep breathing and use my PC and other muscles to move the progasm into the right spot on the prostate. Usually, it is there already but using the muscles just helps the orgasm tremendously. I intend to use the progasm again this morning. If it does not turn out the same, I will continue to go on. The readings have helped me very much.

Nice progress Notsogood !

Excellent sense of your Prostate neurology, particularly with a large tool like the Progasm ! Grand definition in your muscle and breathing moves !!

I'm usually overwhelmed by the internal tensions from the Progasm and need a smaller/finer area of contact to generate the sensations that you achieve and describe.

Agree with both you and balo that steamy showering reduces the mind and body 'noise level.' I've copied from my wife's Loofah brush routine by adding a pair of Loofah Gloves to my basket of bathing accessories. Great for sensitizing my peripheral stim targets and a nice compliment to my old bath brush.

Relaxation, early-on in my session seems to enable smaller involuntary actions. That helps conserve my energy reserves. Permitting, an extended build with longer chains of dry-Os and more penetration into the upper levels of whole body and limbic orgasm.

OTOH, a more direct approach into my session (voluntary contractions, earlier nipple stim, increased amplification of p-waves) tends to result in more physical whole body orgasms that, while great, do not yield the higher limbic pleasures.

While those 'up close and personal' encounters yield a lot of orgasmic pleasure, they more quickly exhaust my physical and mental reserves with far more cardio response and sweating.

I like to pick and choose between the slow & relaxed approach and the direct approach.

As Tig Woods says, "it's all good !"

I think I'm the same way. The more patient I am and unexpecting of pleasure, the more surprised I get later.

i rarely used to wait the ten minutes once i was used to using my aneros but after getting hypnoersession i now wait as long as the track says or if im not using it as long as i can bear to i guess if you tease for longer to start then the pay off is worth the wait

Thank all of you for your experience and yesterday I had another med-O. Overall I begin to tremble after only 3-5 minutes and if I don't I leave the progasm in place and just relax. Instead of giving up, I stay with it and eventually my entire body is shaking and I become so physcially stimulated that it is hard to describe. I know I have not had a super-O but if I keep the routine of medi-Os I will reach that incredible pleasure eventually. The trip is all the fun right now, but the destination will be worth waiting for. Notsogood (I really do need to change that name, but I won't because I want to remember how I felt when I started.)
