And not because I couldn't hack it. Didn't get that far, the "pony" end was too big for the missus believe it or not. Not that it wouldn't go in, just caused some discomfort whilst it was inserted. I wasn't about to say "suck it up Princess" all things considered!
So, what is a good tool for slimming down the pony? Gotta get it a bit thinner and shave that nasty edge off it. I got a die grinder with a cutting tool for aluminium and mild steel, just can't imagine hacking into 100 bucks worth of silicone at this point! The thought of chasing a double ended dildo around the garage getting it filthy and damaged doesn't turn me on either. I mean how am I gonna hold it down? Shove it in the vice?

Glad to hear you gave Share XL a go. I was very curious about it.

As you can read in this thread about 4 or 5 months back, my wife had the exact same reaction the the standard Fun Factory Share: the vaginal "bean" was uncomfortable, though she did use it on me a few times before I modified it. The mods and the tools I used are described in my posts. Long story short; power tools and sanders won't work on silicone. You can get good results with razor-edge type cutters, chisels, blades and saws; the kind used in wood model making. The silicone can be resurfaced with high-grade silicone sealant, like Dow-Corning or Dupont.

After the mods, the Share was better but still not comfy for my wife, so I cut the bean off completely and installed a bullet vibe on the surface abutting her clitoris. Used with a SpareParts Joques harness, that was good, not ideal. Eventually, we quit using Share and moved on to the Vixen Creations Nexus Senior. The only mod I made to that was to carve a hole for the bullet vibe.

Keep working at it and you and your wife will find something that you both enjoy.

@wreckind - Vixskin dildos are one of the 2 "skin-like" dildos that I would recommend, not from personal experience but from the perspective of passing the tests of non-toxic as well as sterilizable and easy to care for. They are pricey. As far as being too realistic - that's an individual preference.

There has been some discussion on this site among straight guys who like pegging or would like to be pegged regarding how realistic the dildo should or should not be. The consensus seems to be that a non-realistic dildo is preferable. For me, I don't think it matters. As you can see from the pix I've posted, the ones we use are stylized penis-like objects. That's not because we purposely shied away from realism, but because we wanted silicone at a reasonable price.

@wreckind - I will chime in here and say that as a woman I have purposefully chosen dildos that were not realistic. I guess I look at it as an instrument to give my partner pleasure rather than actually having a cock. As such, why not have it be my favorite color? 🙂

I do indeed always choose silicone. Silicone rocks... and although it is more pricey that the cheap dildos, you don't have to worry about toxicity and sterilizability. When you really understand more about the toxic cheap jelly dildos - you will never use them again!

There are only 2 mixed material dildos I would recommend - they are the skin-like ones mentioned before - Vixskin and the Tantus O2.

Some people can't afford the high quality silicone toys. For those folks, I suggest putting a condom on their ten-dollar jelly dildo. Not a bad idea in general, since it assists clean-up. Money saved on the dildo can be applied to a higher quality harness, which is really important. Do you have pages on your site for the harness issue? I must have missed it.

For the budget-minded - The cheapest place I have seen to buy decent harnesses is SheVibe. they have a good selection.
Just make sure you don't get the thong back kind - the stability with those is lacking. You want two straps in the back. Also - no cheap elastic straps. You want something that will hold it to the body firmly - no wobbling.
I recently tried out the Spare Parts Joque harness - incredibly comfortable and excellently designed. But those are pricey, too.
What I really want to try now is the RodeoH - the reviews are excellent and they look so comfortable! Better priced, too.

This is perhaps the cheapest beginner's kit I have seen with a silicone dildo.

You also have to consider the accumulative cost of the condoms for each use; they'll add up to quite a princely sum after a while. If you can afford to wait a little longer, and keep a close eye on sales for the dildo of your dreams, you can get one that way. It will just take a little longer.

After chatting with Dave earlier, he has asked me to post here.

Hello to all! I Only recently found out about Pegging on this site, needless to say I have been anxious to give it a try. Just last night I joined the ranks of the pegged! I got a Tantus Bend Over Beginner set for Mrs. J4 and I last year. We played with it a couple of times but it wasn’t until last night that we had all the components in place to try a real honest of goodness pegging session.
