I thought the Aneros products were a bit pricey, so I've been using something generic we use for regular sex. What's the favorite lube here?

I go with Astroglide gel all the way. Used to use their sensitive skin formula, which was pretty free of potentially harmful chemicals, but they changed the formula and it burns inside like crazy now! I tried the YES! But brand from England, it is very pure but just doesn't provide the slippery quality. I can't use silicone based stuff because I have silicone toys 😉 So, I decided to switch back to the old school original formula Astroglide gel. Shea butter and coconut oils don't work for me at all, they get bound up and last time I had rip the Aneros I was using out of me so hard I thought I was going to die...never tried oils again.

I use Boy Butter Original almost exclusively now. It is even safe on silicone toys. It doesn't make a mess like straight coconut oil and it cleans up with water!

Use water based lube - various brands along with cocoa butter or other longer lasting lubes

Thanks! I think I'll give the Astroglide gel a try 'cus I can grab it locally. I tried the liquid for regular sex, kind of liked it, but also kind of sloppy.

Boy Butter? Yeah...the name alone is a tough sell for me. It would have to be fantastic (and re-labeled, thanks), but good to hear it works for you.

I tried the common KY because we had it, it works fine on the way in, not great on the way out. Geez they have like 16 different varieties now! We've tried the Yours/Mine for sex...nice, interesting, but it won't stay in the bottles! Literally climbs out and makes a huge mess. The zip lock back I keep the stuff in is a gooey mess inside. Not sure the sensory plus was worth all of that. And no point for the toy.

Keep the ideas coming though. 😉

I cover my device and outer anuswith classic vaseline and then inject a full syringe of either Penchent Premium silicone lube for my silicone free toys and then Shibari Personal Lubricant - Water Based for my syn models. The vaseline on the toy and anus prevents drying on the outside keeping me as cpmfortable as possible and the device is always coated and is slicker togethor than either of the lubes alone .

I also coat my Aneros' with Vaseline, and inject Slippery Stuff Gel; it seems to work very well.

The only downside, is the Vaseline can squeegee off on the outside, and can mess up the sheets or whatever else you're on, unless you make a concerted effort to wipe the excess off your butt.

What can help, is putting the device in the freezer, and then coating it with Vaseline; it freezes on and more goes inside without getting wiped off.

Another reason i use vaseline is because it stays on throught the squeegee effect better than any other lube. But yea it can get a little messy if you use too much

Personally, I like a mix of Coconut oil and anhydrous Lanolin. That mixture makes the perfect creamy, luxurious feeling lube. Super slick while being thick enough to act like a cushion. And it lasts forever. ...Yes, Lanolin is safe for rectal use. I've been my own guinea pig for several years now, with no ill effects.

Natural Jelly formula
1/4 tsp. shea butter (this is optional too, but it adds a certain creaminess to the mixture)
1 tsp. beeswax
3 tblsp. almond oil, olive oil or coconut oil (your choice)

Step 1.) Place all ingredients in the top of a double boiler setup, heat and stir until all ingredients are dissolved.
Step 2.) Remove the mix from heat and stir the ingredients constantly as your petroleum jelly alternative cools and thickens. While still slightly warm, scoop the jelly mixture into a dark glass jar and leave unsealed to cool completely.
Step 3.) Keep your Natural Jelly in a cool, dark place, or in your refrigerator. Use it as you would use commercial petroleum jelly.

You can adjust the viscosity of the mix by increasing/decreasing the oil proportions. The advantage of this mixture over natural oils alone is the increased viscosity due to the presence of the beeswax. The beeswax is the key to insuring good lubricity between you and your Aneros as it creates a micro thin film which holds well to the plastic. I’ve used this mix for my last couple of sessions and have found it to be a very satisfactory natural lubricant.

I like a water based (non glycerin) lube when on the road and a natural oil based lube when I'm at home. My road warrior lube is Slippery Stuff Gel (smaller amount of parabens).

Stainless Steel Tools: Just plain Petrolatum as I'm not looking for ease of motion and a fast transition into auto-f u c k with Dame Eupho or Helix.

Classic (Acetal-plastic) versions of Eupho or Helix are a different matter. Before the session I coat the tool(s) with a very very very thin layer of vaseline and apply a small dab of Prep-H to the tip and around the base (aka neck) of the tool. Then, I insert two or three lube suppositories (see next paragraph) into my anal canal with my finger, making sure that at least one is inside my inner sphincter and smeared around the bulge of my prostate.

Lube suppositories: Melt a mixture of Unrefined Coconut Oil and Unrefined Shea Butter and chill the mixture into suppositories about 1-3/4" long and 9/16" in diameter. Check in your supermarket for a plastic mold used to make colored/flavored ice 'bullets' to flavor or color bottled water for kids. I make up several dozen suppositories and keep the jar in the freezer.

I vary the ratio of Coconut Oil and Shea butter seasonally (from about 1/3 : 2/3 to 50:50) so that the suppository is easy to handle regardless of room temperature. Anything in that mixture range will melt rapidly as soon as it's inserted in your anal canal. If you are dealing with tropical temperatures you have a couple of choices. 1) put a couple of ice cubes in a juice glass and use that to 'refrigerate' the suppositories while your are doing the rest of your session prep; or, 2) store your lube in a cleaned Vaseline tub and use a lube shooter to inject it.

Well, this HAS been an education! I'm actually a bit daunted by the complexity of what some do. I just switched from the conventional KY product to Astroglide Gel, I notice only a slight difference. Going in, no issue, happens really easy and fast, sometimes surprisingly. The problem I'm trying to solve is difficulty and discomfort during withdrawal. Sessions have been under an hour so far, extraction is difficult to get started. I'll probably try the vaseline pre-coat. I'm thinking of using some sort of towel to protect sheets, etc.

When you say you "inject" a particular lube, are you using some sort of syringe or does the lube come with an application injection tool?

The custom blends are interesting, but I simply don't have time. I have to get something pre-mixed, ready to use, so that's the suggestions I find most helpful to me.

Hey @rook ,

I started making my own Coconut Oil suppositories a few weeks ago and use them in combination with a classic water-based lube. This is a very neat trick you came up with (or was it @darwin ?). It really makes a difference in longer sessions, so thx for sharing! 🙂

Cheers, Unfug

If you are having issues on withdrawal it may help if you go slow and let your sphincter re-relax. You need your sphincter to relax going in as well as coming out. I like to use a thin coat of Vasoline with a little water based lube on the massager and inject around 4-5cc with a lube shooter. I have been injecting 3-4 cc generic KY gel/ 1-2 cc Smooth and Slick (cross between a gel and liquid consistency) combo. Sometimes I will use a little silicone Wet if it's not a silicone device. There are MANY different combos of lubes you can try and you will just have to experiment. The Vasoline will remain on the massager for HOURS and should ease your mind when it comes to your massager getting stuck inside you.

I would like to try some of the more natural lubes everyone is using sometime down the road.

Hello, new here and wanted to ask a couple questions about lubes. I am considering making my own custom suppositories for pre-lubrication and was wondering what mixes/mixtures of components have seemed to work best? I have shea butter, coconut oil, beeswax, and olive oil on hand for ingredients. Also, what "size" of suppository would be ideal? For example, would a physical size of 1/2" diameter x 1.0" length be a proper size? Or any suggestions on size by volume or comparison would also be helpful..? Also, depending on the size, how many are inserted for adequate lubrication.? I have read numerous posts on this subject and have found some bits of information here and there, and I was hoping to gather some of this information from other users so it may be easier to find in the future. !
Thanks for reading and I would welcome any and all suggestions..! 🙂

Believe it or not, the best lube I've ever used is Albolene makeup remover. My husband and I have used it for sex for years. It lasts forever, you don't have to use a lot, and it's fragrance-free. Also, the cleanup is really easy. I put a little in my hole with a finger, then slab some on my helix syn, and I'm good to go for as long as I want! Most CVS stores carry it.
