Vice in the dishwasher?

Silicone can withstand very high temperatures (>than 650 degrees Fahrenheit) without breaking down, in fact they make baking sheets out of it these days! Given that the temperature of boiling water is 212 degrees, there really is no problem at all in disinfecting silicone toys in this way, particularly with a high grade silicone such as is used in the VICE. To clean, REMOVE THE VIBRATOR and place it in boiling water for 5 minutes. Yes, the dishwasher is an easy way to clean it as well. TOP RACK ONLY! I would strongly recommend placing it inside of a nipple cage (used for baby bottles). Some dishwashers have trays for smaller items to be used on the top rack (you want to avoid the VICE being agitated by a jet of water and falling down to the lower rack or into the base of the machine near the heating element).

Yep, I can attest that oil based lubes on silicone toy do accumulate even though hand washed with soap. And much like Brian mentioned, most companies that make 100% silicone toys say that dishwashing it on the upper rack is safe. I boil mine in a pot of water for 15 minutes. And I can see the oil lube residues at the water line on the pot afterwards. Afterwards, it is nice and shiny new looking. 🙂

Into the dishwasher it has gone! The vibe cavity slipped right over one of the spikes on the upper rack -- perfect fit!
