I have been reading many contributions by 'zaneblue' and the discussion regarding the omega-3 components EPA and DHA contained in fish oil

I am a 95% vegetarian - occasionally eating fish BUT every morning my breakfast includes 30 to 40 grams of organic grown flax seed finely ground by myself, as the omega-3 of the flax seed is best stored in its original shell. Grinding is necessary as the hard outer seed shell will not be digested so not releasing the oils inside. The ground flax seeds are then either added to muesli or I make a paste by adding either honey or maple syrup and spreading on wholesome rye bread (like jam). This for the last three years daily.

Now, flax seed do not have EPA nor DHA but instead consists of the third form of omega-3 fat namely ALA. The fine thing is that our bodies convert the ALA to both EPA and DHA to the right amounts we need and to other rarer forms of omega-3 that we need for our well being, these are not found in fish oil and EPA nor DHA can not be converted by yourself to these other rarer forms of omega-3, so you need the ALA anyway - important though not to have any mineral deficiencies as this can hamper the conversion. I supplement daily with magnesium, potassium, calcium, zinc and trace elements - necessary as I consume about 3 to 4 liters of water daily.

Further Flax seed is full of other nutrients, amino acids, minerals and important, dietary fibre; whereas fish oil is just oil without any further nutritional or culinary benefit - sorry cod liver oil has vitamins A and D and then we hide it in a capsule so that we do not taste it. A further plus for the vegi version is that the ground flax seed keeps your stool nice and soft.

Check the nutritional make up yourself, 10 grams of flax seed (three teaspoons) has the same amount of fats as 4 grams of fish oil (one teaspoon)

Main sources of ALA (% oil to weight of whole seeds/nuts)
Flax seed 18.1%
Butternuts 8.7%
Hemp Seeds 8.7%
Walnuts 6.3%
Pecan nuts 0.6%

Im all up for starting to get better sources of fatty acids than digusting fish oil.

Hemp seeds, flax seeds have good amounts of omega 3. There is oil derived from algae that contaings DHA too.

I myself am not completely vegetarian, Im all for eating quality food, which limits the amount of fish and meat I ingest enormously. So having animal sources for anything I eat is super important.

A few years me and a few friends have hopped on the bandwagon of superfoods and nutrients made popular by david wolfe. They are some of the better sources for nutrition out there. I dont mind popping pills if necesary so they are a very convinient source of nutrition, specially on the go.

I and a few friends purchase massive amounts of stuff in wholesale and recieve excellent nutrition.

My super foods are: Maca, Spirulina, Bareley Grass, Wheat Grass, Goji Berries, Acai Berries, Organic Honey...

I have my own little capsule machine so I get to eat a ton of green capsules throught the day containing spirulina and chlorella to complement my nutritional intake. Flax seed is on the list, although Im trying to find a good source of hemp seeds and a good way to include high amounts of it in my diet.

A lot of the fish being sold now a days is full of contaminants and majority I find in my city are born in farms.

The quality of an animals flesh can only be as good as the life it lives and the food it eats, so Im not against eating meat. ÇBut I am against supporting the torture of animals in industrial farms, where they hardly move and they get to eat grain and all sorts of shit. I feel sorry for them, and its an ecologic disaster. Dont get me wrong, Im not against meating dead meat. If I had the chance to kill and eat a raw cow, it would be an honour, an experience I would treasure.

We have to find alternative source fo all that we eat to be able to stop consuming animal products for our nutrition. For some people eating meat is something they dont want to do, I myself eat meat relifioulsy twice a week.

Just saying

arff... finished venting (not quite)

Thanks alv and esfenoides! 😀

All these dietary data and your recommendations are very helpful. I'm currently taking both some flaxseed and similar O3 vegetarian sources along with relatively moderate doses of fish oil. Always looking for more data and refining based on experience. How do either of you relate your diet to your orgasmic and bioenergetic response levels, re-energizing, expansion?

Thanks for the info, alv.
Flax seeds sound like a great alternative to fish oil, and as you said, maybe even better since they're more of a whole food rather than just the oil.

I'm keen to hear anything else anyone has to share on this matter.

I can't say that I've recognized how fresh ground flax seed effects my well being. But then again I don't consume it on a regular basis either. I have found that a great way to ingest it, is to add it to a fruit smoothy that you make in a blender. The taste is hidden, and it also has a side effect of thickening the smoothy. I usually use 1 tablespoon of flax seeds(pre-grinding measurement).

HI Guys,

Here's a short article I came across recently that resonated with its simple rationality for me.
Titled The Healthiest Foods On Earth, its basic premise is that processed foods are the real problem in todays modern diets. An interesting read that is in harmony with 'alv' and 'esfenoide's posts.

All very interesting however I have to ask: healthy eating choices aside, does it have similar sexual benefits as normal fish oil?

How do either of you relate your diet to your orgasmic and bioenergetic response levels, re-energizing, expansion?

In the pre-Anero era I experienced only a Super-T once, after regular orgasm went into a relaxing position with my partner on her back, myself on the side at about right angles to her making an X, but still coupled. After a while I started flexing my PC to maintain/build-up erection, and then found myself doing slow but regular involuntary hip thrust. This then built up to my one and only full body orgasm, stated at the toes, moved to the head my whole body shaking. As a after effect that day was energies flowing up and down for the rest of the day.
In the post-Anero era I experienced the first Super-O the second time round, and each session becoming more intense - I do not know where this is going to end - I hope not in an instantaneous combustion but if feels that way how hot and sweaty I get. During regular sex 4 days into the new A-era I experienced continues multiples - caught my partner by surprise.

All very interesting however I have to ask: healthy eating choices aside, does it have similar sexual benefits as normal fish oil?

RTGoose I cannot complain, if the immediate Aneros start-up has anything to do with flax seeds I cannot judge. Please remember that the fish-oil claims have certainly proven background but amplified by the the food-supplement producers,

Back to artform - Regarding my bioenergetic response - 2years ago I experienced an energetic turn, stopped drinking coffee and tee overnight (could not start my day with at least three cups of strong coffee), changed my eating habits and started to explore life-energies. (I am surprised that this gets discussed in this forum - I will start contributing soon). I am very receptive to energies, I can feel plants, crystal, other humans in my close proximity.

Re-energising - I find the Aneros is a wonderful aid to re-energising, I am exploring this more and will report later when I can confirm repeated results so that I do not report on one-day-flies.

How flax seeds on their own contribute to my general well being and healthy state I do not know but my healthy diet certainly does. I am nearly 58, pretty healthy, pain free and do not know the last time I was ill. My blood values were all normal at last check up.

Thanks for this information alv. I am a strict vegetarian and have not thought of an alternative for fish oil. Good to know. 😀

Hi Rumel, 🙂

You hit the nail on the head with that article! Refinement and processing of what were previously whole and natural foods is what makes for a lot of our health problems in the "modern" parts of the world. As a vegan I've followed the path of eating mostly whole, organic, unrefined, and unprocessed foods as much as possible. It works for me. Eat healthy, feel healthy. 😀
