support: please fix styling of hyperlinks

thanks! but.... oh no, the links on the front page of the forum are now back to the hard-to-read red.

Yikes, I opened the Forum page and thought I was going blind with the change of text color.

'darwin' - I am totally with you on this "hard-to-read red." issue.

I'm an unfortunate member of the 10% of the male population who suffers from some form of color blindness (the most common red/green deficiency/recognition problem).

Could we please, Please, PLEASE change the "red" to "blue" for us visually challenged folks? or if "blue" is not acceptable could the "red" be changed to "darkred" or "maroon", in accord with this article ?

Good call guys! When I've linked something I have been color changing it myself prior to linking (it won't work if you link first). It should be automatic and I totally agree that blue is a better color to use. It stands out in a forum where the prominent color is red. Blue is the standard at Wikipedia so many users will be familiar with what this color change is about.

I also agree that the red text for the General Discussion section is indeed more difficult to read, and I'm not colorblind.

support, here is what i think: you need two different styles, one for links in the list of posts,eg, General Discussion, and another for embedded in the posts.

the links in the General Discussion used to be black, and they were great, couldn't be better. (what you have now, underlined dark red, is a step to the worse).

in the posts, i think you should use the standard dark blue, with an underline optional.

Those colours would certainly make it easier to read!

I too agree with Darwin on this. The signature "Aneros Red" is terrific for graphics and backround images, but something darker is required for the Posts and Threads links in the General Discussion section. It's a matter of contrast, where colors coordinate with one another. When the text is red as well everything becomes muddied and lost with one field fading into the other.

As great as the red is.....in this instance it's too much of a good thing!

Being over the "age of consent" I'm most comfortable with underscored blue links (a la Netscape 2.0). 😉 However, blue is about as nice as the underscored red. Either seems intuitive, even for an old guy. While someone else might have a further improvement this was a great move! Tks.

To "frost the cake:"

Long thread titles are over-writing the Forum navigation 'buttons'. It's difficult to see "/General Discussion'" when the thread title is long. (ex: "http://www.aneros.com/forum/f5/thinking-making-jump-helix-progasm-any-words-wisdom-14416/").

Recommend repositioning the thread title or truncating it. (Truncation should work since the user has already clicked on that information).

This is an issue with FF2x, FF3.5x, Chrome v2, Netscape 9.0..0.6 in Win32. Didn't check other platforms today but problem was present last week using Firefox v2 on Gnome.

Better still, how about placing a limit on the length of thread titles. I don't think it is necessary to write a complete sentence as a thread title.

Maybe there should be a limit of, say 50 characters (including spaces and punctuation), that should be heaps!
