I've been enjoying the Aneros trip for a couple of years with increasing success. Currently I can induce a super-O almost at will with or without an Aneros device. The sessions with an Aneros and boosted by some weed are truly epic but I can attain almost the same effect straight and "empty". I think of it as my secret super-power (wife knows that I have a collection of toys but no idea that I can attain total rapture with them).
Now for the question. According to my wife, I sometimes snore to the point where the windows rattle. I talked to my PCP about it and he wants me to have a polysomnogram sleep study. I Googled that up and apparently it involves checking into a facility where they put you in a private room hooked up to a variety of sensors and record the results. The sensors would record the normal stuff (heart rate, BP, rhythm) but also eye movement (electro-oculogram), brainwave activity (electroencephalogram), muscle activity (electromyogram), a nasal airflow sensor and a snore microphone. So now I'm sorely tempted to blow up their machines with a massive whole body energy orgasm but I'm a little reluctant to blow my cover. It would be fascinating to have data about the brainwave activity due to near hallucinatory visions, uncontrollable muscle spasms and waves of pure ecstasy but I'm not convinced that the results would be kept confidential.
Thoughts?
Let them figure out how you can stop snoring and also demo your O's for your wife. She'll be glad on both fronts.
If it were me (I have sleep Apnea, and a machine to counter it), I'd definitely let them check you (with out messing up their readings)... sleep Apnea is no joke and left unchecked it can lead to major problems.
My life is soooo much better after being treated - your mileage may very however!
Thoughts?
I'm in agreement with @MO_Bosco & @HereByAccident , I found out that I have an enlarged heart probably due to undiagnosed (for 40 years) sleep apnea. This is not something to 'goof' with, IMHO, it is best to get yourself checked out and not try to "... blow up their machines with a massive whole body energy orgasm...".
I think it would be really nice if some scientific studies were done to document body effects due to the Super-O phenomenon but demonstrating this phenomenon during a sleep study is probably not going to help you or anyone else.
Good Vibes to You !
I'm actually not too worried about sleep apnea- the wife is aware and would alert. I'm also not overly concerned that she would be offended by my "Super Powers" and in fact would be strongly supportive. My concern is that I really wouldn't want to be the feature item on the 10 O'clock news. I'm an engineer and measure/quantify is a major interest. I feel that I can actually feel and control (to an extent) the energy aura that emanates from a spectacular session- just would like to document and record the magnitude of the amazing ecstasy.
I would suggest getting evaluated for sleep apnea. When I was married, my wife would have to kick me several times a night when I awoke her with massive snoring. She never suggested I get checked or mention snoring to the PCP. Several years ago I switched to a new PCP and he ordered a night time O2 test, the monitor you wear like a watch with a sensor on a finger. He discovered that my O2 count drops over and over again which resulted in an O2 concentrator at night to keep the O2 in normal limits. One can't tell the O2 drop by listening, it requires a monitor. I would suggest you revisit the PCP and get tested, suggest the wrist monitor as a first step before going into the hospital for the sleep study. Having O2 at night has made a big difference, and I had no clue that I had issues with oxygen. Perhaps a graduate student in medicine could work on a study to track the changes of having an Aneros experience?
