Although I am very experienced with anal pleasures I am a newbie (two weeks) to Aneros. I have a Helix, and I'm trying to be patient but I'm becoming frustrated. The posts in other threads help, but I haven't found this one anywhere: the abutment tab is irritating to my perineum! It's quite uncomfortable to the point that I feel the need to pad the tab. My perineal area has never been especially sensitive--to pain, pleasure or anything else. It's just there. (Unlucky me, I guess.) Added to the fact that I'm getting absolutely nothing yet internally from this thing, the perineum discomfort is particularly discouraging. I look forward to hearing from others, either by email or in the forum. Thanks.
Must confess that after 2 long sessions spaced by only a few hours I had also soùe discomfort during the day; not really pain but a feeling that maybe I had played too long. Went off by itself after +/- 24h.
Suggest you put a very small piece of tissue around the tab scured with a very small elastic, just enough tissue to cover, it will also help the slpppage that sometimes happens with the lube getting on the perenium.
Experiment and you will find it really does help..good luck.
I simply wrap a couple small swatches of thick cotton around the tab, and secure it with a hair tie. It softens the tab and at the same time keeps it from sliding around.

Pan, doesn't that make the tab too thick ??? I find that even two wraps of fine tissue can detract a bit from the tabs feelings.???
Hi Guys,
In my case, I find that keeping that area shaved (I actually use Nair For Men) eliminates the discomfort. I think, in my case, the hair was getting pulled as the Aneros starts imbedding itself.

Not for me. I use two layers of cotton material cut from a sports sock, and I find it both comfortable and effective. But then perineal sensitivity varies greatly around here. Some guys want a strong "penetrating" feeling, others, like me, prefer a broader feeling of pressure.
I think it's simply a matter of experimentation...

Doesn't the Nair for Men burn in that area? Do you use it on the entire genital area, or just where the tab goes? It makes sense that shaving would eliminate the discomfort.

I have also experienced some pain with the perineum tab pressing too hard into my perineum. It has at times been so painful that I felt it could do damage to the tissue beneath it, so I would remove the Aneros or pull it out slightly to relieve the pressure against this spot. I had never imagined the perineum tab would be so thin or narrow. It would seem better if it were more like a rounded nub or pad instead of the thin piece of plastic that it is. Just my thoughts on the matter.
It sounds as though you haven't got the tab placed in the correct spot so it is not moving into what some describe as the million dollar point With the the tab situated correctly it moves into the gap when you create contractions so placing pressure from underneath on the prostate. As I maintain a 'smooth' perineum I have no problems with trapped hair. I would recommend a professional waxing or the use of an epilator. The latter can be painful if you have never experienced it before but you get used to it.

Bingo buddy! A rounded nub, or ball or pad would be much better and far more comfortable. Meanwhile, I've padded mine, and it's fine. Perineal stimulation does nothing for me, never has, maybe never will. I understand that the abutment tab is necessary for balance, and padded to eliminate perineum discomfort is all that was needed. Now if I just could feel the danged thing inside me.... (Still trying, still being patient....)

Hi,
No, I use it on everything down there .... I have found the only area that might get irratated is the inner most skin along my thigh. As soon as I feel it tingling there, I remove it.
I think the product was developed to do exactly what I am doing with it, removing all the hair in those regions.
It is too expensive to use on bigger areas like the chest etc.
Russ, the perinium is one of the MAJOR keys to the aneros working !!!

Yes, it indeed is. I once experienced dry orgasm by just stimulating the
perineum with my own finger. I wish I had filmed it.
Anyway it's not a bad idea to put some pad, if it hurts.
But basically I don't recommend you to squeeze your sphincter very tightly
until the tab starts annoying you.
In other words, if you relax yourself well enough so that your muscle
doesn't jam the free movement of Aneros, the tab won't torture you, but
gently caress you.

Then I'm in trouble with this thing. My perineum is as dead as the proverbial doornail. It is a zero pleasure zone for me. Perhaps as an assist in contracting the prostate, OK. But I get nothing, nada, out of perineal stimulation in and of itself. Now the prostate is another story altogether.... Still working on it.

russ -
The whole thing about the Aneros is that you are trying to stimulate your prostate and although the perineum is an extremely sensitive part of one's bod it carries close/beneath it, the prostate, Cowper's gland, urethra, (anal sphincter close by too) - a whole series of nerves, arterial and venal blood vessels (that deliver and drain blood to/from your penis/erection) and - and of course about a third of the length (buried) of one's penis (and it's 'bulb') which swells the perineum when it is erect.
What the abuttment tab is trying to do is act as a kind of fulcrum when you contract your PC and anal sphincter muscles. The result is that the prostate is squeezed between the head of the Aneros device and the abuttment along with the Cowper's gland that is responsible for the production of what is described as pre-cum (as a lubricant for vaginal sex) and the 'bulb' of the penis (penis base or 'root' - not to be confused with the 'glans'!).
For the Aneros to work effectively the perineum abuttment or "tab" should sit on/press on the perineum acupressure point. See my recent thread (I tried something different ...), regarding using the perineum as a zone of direct stimulation. This might help you to awaken the possibilities of pleasure in your perineum that according to your post are currently dormant. The key to it all as you recognise, is the prostate - do keep trying and don't lose faith! Have a go at massaging the area as described in my post of 2005-10-21. It is essential that you should get yourself 'hot' first - so build up a good amount of sexual tension/focus first and then think yourself into the cycle of pleasure that you can generate with the massage technique. The rewards are there! Good luck! All the above with your Aneros in position - I would recommend the Helix as it moves (for me) around more freely than say the MGX.
