I have just spent an hour and a half reading this forum. WOW! I now have no idea which product I should buy. I just heard about the Aneros at the beginning of the year but just came to the website. Everyone has their own opinion of the products and they all seem great.
The friend that told me about Aneros used the MGX with wonderful results. He has moved onto the Maximus and now swears by it.
I am gay and enjoy big toys, yet another size queen. I really enjoy inflatables. An ass balloon pumped to the size of a large grapefruit provides pleasures I never thought that I could have. It stimulates that prostate also when I apply a vibrator it. I have had sessions like this that have lasted up to 4 hours.
Will someone please just recommend one unit that I can get as a starter? I’m sure that I will get sever different opinions here too. Thanks.
Check out my sticky thread above entitled ....the Next Generation Reviewed for starters. Yes, there will be many opinions on this. One thing bears repeating here though....size is NOT the overriding concern. It never fails that most anal vets go right to the largest model assuming that it will give the largest payoff. This is not the case with the Aneros. The device's effectiveness depends to a large extent on it's mobility and agility . If you're looking for a hammer....use a plug. The Aneros is a different experience....one that is generated from more subtle energy.....keep this in mind. By the way, I'm straight, and I've experimented with a wide variety of toys (dils, veggies. vibrators) and ...yes, I use to have an inflatable plug myself too....nice.., but if you're curious about the Aneros with respect to this non-ejaculatory phenomenon that we call the Super O, you'll do better by finding a unit that is most responsive to your contractions. Honestly, from the standpoint of size, if you've been into larger toys NONE of the models will satisfy you from the perspective of being "filled up" anyway . Has your friend tried the Helix?
With respect to the Maximus, if you read my review, I had stated in the past that I felt that it was a bit "out of balance" and somewhat lumbering as compared to the other models. While I still feel this to be the case, it can be approached with aggressive lubrication and yield some very interesting results.

Thanks for the follow up, B. I did read your thread and it was a great help. I am leaning more towards the Helix for my first purchase. I get that size for this product isn't that 'big' of a deal. It is what the item does that matters. I was just a little concerned that because I do like to play with big toys my rectal area would be desensitized to something 'normally' sized. Now I really don't feel that that will be a problem.
I spoke to my friend and he has not tried the Helix either. Maybe once I have mine, we will trade off for comparisons.
Again, thanks B!

You might want to give it go in the dishwasher (on top rack), first...but yeah why not. Something to be aware of. The girth of the Helix and Maximus are identical (at their widest area on the body of the unit). The chief difference is that the Maximus maintains that width over a greater portion of the length of the unit. The Helix is more tapered.
Again, none of these units will fill your rectum. (You have your inflatable b.p. for that..) The concept is that the device move freely inside the rectum in response to your anal contractions.
Enjoy!!

I've ordered my Holiday Special pack and am eager.
But I'm a little confused by much of the talk here about which model is best.
Aren't we all different in size and contour?
I'm a larger guy (6'2"). Won't the distance from my anus to my prostate be very different from that of a guy who is 6'6" or 5'4"?
How can we expect the same results from devices that depend on dimensions?

DirkVA,
Theoretically, this distance should be fairly similar for men in the height range that you've listed. I am 6 '4" and have found that all of the Aneros models (with the exception of the SGX) engage my prostate satisfactorily. The SGX was originally designed for the asian market, where average height is well under 6 feet.

Hi B. I check in from time to time, and just saw your post. I'm a gay man too. I had experienced plenty of ass play before getting the aneros too. I have a coupled of dildos -- nothing outlandishly big. But still, size was a concern for me at first too. Honestly, when I first bought the aneros I was shocked by how small it was -- the pictures online don't give you a scale to judge its size by.
I bought the maximus (the store I went to did not have the Helix), worried that it would be too small. I was very very VERY wrong. I have had a great time with it. After reading Mayfield's review of the different models, I decided to try the Helix. It is only slightly smaller than the Maximus, but what a different. You can immediately feel the helix move around and stimulate the prostate more. Oh god what a feeling. I have gotten so that I enjoy nice long sessions with the Helix. In fact, my first and only Super O happened last night -- with the Helix. I still love the Maximus though -- but it is a completely different feeling. I usually switch to it near the very end of my session, when I am ready ejaculate and finish the session. That is an incredible experience too.
It sounds like you may have already placed your order. But just my $0.02 worth: start with the Helix. Try it for a while. If you like it, try the Maximus just for something different.
Hope that's interesting and helpful to you in some what. Have fun, and let me know how it goes. -Sam
