Nervous about first experience...

Ok, so I am ordering my Aneros MGX on Friday... Part of me cannot wait, and another part of me is scared shitless (no pun intended!).

I am predominantly using this device to aid the healing proccess from prostatitis. I am a University student in my final year, currently living in halls of residence (or dorms as Americans call them). I guess more than anything, I'm nervous about the uncontrollable sounds I may make and flatmates, etc. will hear, lol. Is this something that will be a problem or are there ways of controlling the vocal sides to the experience? Not that I want to control them, but it's kinda embarrassing when you're surrounded by so many others living in adjacent rooms to you. Any thoughts would be much appreciated, I am nervously looking forward to the first encounter with this thing 🙂

Matt

I don't think you will have a problem Matt. If you want to be quiet, I am sure that you can. It may hamper your sessions by not allowing yourself to let go. I am sure you will find a way that works for you.

It is unlikely that you are going to have an intense experience the first time. For most nothing special happens.

I wouldn't worry about the noise either. I would think you would want privacy, so you could be completely relaxed, however.

Personal experience: when I've had a good session I frequently moan or shout in my sleep several hours later.

Feel free to let yourself go. Just apologize to your neighbors that you sometimes vocalize in your dreams or while napping (if it's the daytime.) 🙂 hth...rook

Matty087,

I have been doing this for about a year now and have never found myself making involuntary vocalisations, even though I am normally practising in the same bed as my sleeping partner. I therefore doubt that you will either. That seems to concur with other users above.

IMHO, if you need to vocalise, you are really letting yourself go, and if that is your aim, maybe the need for silence will give you added incentive to graduate and move into digs of your own!

Have fun and good luck!

Pommie
