marijuana and the sex drive

Well exactly one month ago I quit smoking pot. I quit because my job is going to be doing an annual drug test and so I need to pass it to renew my permit to keep the job. Now I love smoking weed and usually smoke at least once a day and for awhile there I was doing a least two aneroless sessions a day. One I would do sober in the morning and one I would do high at night before bed. Both were good but the high one always seemed to be better.

At first quiting smoking threw me all out of wack and and sleeping become very hard but after some days and weeks my body has taken to it very nicely.... Especially in one important area...
My sex drive has gone nuts! Before I might have an erection here and there through out the day but now it's all the time. Sex has become amazing and it's so much easier to teeter on the edge of multiples during sex instead of quickly shifting into body needing to ejaculate mode. My girlfriend is loving my newfound sex drive and sex pretty much everyday which wasn't the case before quiting smoking.

These effects didn't happen instantly but has been a gradual increase over the last weeks since quitting. It's really starting to hit harder this last week though, which I believe has to do with the THC being mostly out of my system.
Now I've got to take the drug test in a couple weeks which before I couldn't wait to happen so I could smoke again but now I'm sort of dreading it. As much as I love to smoke pot I don't think it's worth it vs having my sex drive back this strong. I've always been a pro legalize pot type of person and still am but never really realized just how much it effected my sex drive. Now I'm sure it's different for everybody so maybe other people aren't effected like this.

I could always kid myself and act like I can smoke just every once in awhile because it takes the body only a few days to rid itself of THC when smokin very casually but I've been there before. Eventually I'd be back to smoking everyday again.

Anyways sorry for the rant but I didn't realize just how much smoking pot effected my sex drive until now. I hope it's not like this for everybody who smokes on a regular basis.
I wonder what the effects on women are? My girl smokes plenty and is the horniest on a everyday basis than I've ever been with. So I wonder if it has any of the same sex drive effects on women vs men.

Any women on the forum with knowledge in this area please speak up.

when i used to smoke, it actually INCREASED my sex drive, about 10 to 15 fold. I really think it depends on the person, and what kind of stuff you are smoking. I have quit though, and personally am much happier without the stuff.

Good on you man. Try and quit for a long peroid of time before you start to think about smoking again.

I know how easy it is to just go back to smoking everyday haha. It just happens. To only smoke once in a while requires a different life style change (And usually a long period of abstinence first).

I am trying to do the same thing you are but are having trouble. Any tips? (Perhaps through PM).

But yeah, WHEN I'm actually high my sex drive is absolutely through the roof. Feels 15x more than sober for some reason. But in general, in peroids of heavy smoking my sex drive goes down a lot. It's strange, but one of the main factors I want to quit.

And the only times I've had major success with the aneros was when high. Just seems to calm me down and allow me to reach super O easier.
😈

Back when I smoked it, I noticed an increase in sex drive. Any pleasurable sensations I happened to feel, such as nipple stimulation, were also more intense.

Much as I love the stuff, I know I'm better off without it, especially since I couldn't stay out of it when I did have it. I'd also like to reach those levels of pleasure naturally instead of needing an artificial boost.

Do you mean an increase in sex drive while you were actually high or all the time even when you were not high?

Yes I feel you on this one. I often would smoke just to put me in the mood and increase the pleasure. Seems like sex while high is often better. But I feel since I've stopped smoking that sex is even better now than sex was when high. Like from the chemicals or THC or whatnot leaving my body, my natural levels of feeling have come back. It's like I didn't realize that I had lost the ability to feel these things until I quit smoking weed again.

Well for me I've always been the type of person to just cold turkey stuff. Hard to explain how I do it. Having to take this drug test to keep my job helped me cold turkey with the quiting smoking this time around. I guess while other people would just smoke and try to pass the test using drug passing drinks, I'd rather be sure that I'm going to pass, plus take it as an opportunity to quit smoking if not just for awhile to change things up. It feel good to not feel like I have to smoke everyday just to feel good or normal or to fall to sleep or to have enjoyable sex and so on.
Funny thing is, is that I could take the drug test today (and pass easily since it's been about 40 days since last smoking) but have been putting it off cause I know once it's out of the way the temptation to smoke will be back again.

I'll PM you if I can think of anything else that I can remember that could help you.

Only while I was high. Sometimes not even then. It just goes to show that everyone is different.
