I finally decided to give this a try this past weekend. Must say, that the first try was a little disappointing to say the least. I tried again tonight and I grew quickly tired, but I was not ready to give up. I decided to "help" the motion by gently pushing it with my fingers as I did the contractions. All I can say is WOW! Over the next hour I had 8 earth shattering dry full-body orgasms lasting about 30 seconds each. Towards the end I must admit I was doing a little more than just "helping" with my fingers, but it felt sooo good.

My question is why do the instructions say not to manually manipulate it? As long as you are being careful and not being rough what it the harm?

My question is why do the instructions say not to manually manipulate it? As long as you are being careful and not being rough what it the harm?

There are several reasons why the manufacturer does not recommend manual manipulation.
#1 - Manual manipulation does have the distinct possibility to cause pain and/or damage to the prostate despite how careful the user thinks he is being, this is especially true if a partner is involved with the manipulation. It is far too easy to become overly excited and start thinking more pressure or faster thrusting will bring on more pleasure and thus accidentally injure yourself in the process. Aneros does not want to assume any liability for injuries caused by ill advised excessive pressure.
#2 - Manual manipulation is not needed to achieve the therapeutic effects these massagers were originally designed to provide. Gentle pressure and small movements are all that is necessary. The same pressure and movement is also all the stimulation you need to bring on orgasmic sensations. As you become more experienced through regular use you will build muscle tone, stamina and strength which will be more than adequate to provide the necessary pressure to create pleasurable sensations.
#3 - Using your device hands off frees them to stimulate other parts of your body (or a partners body) for additional stimulation.
#4
Using your device hands off frees your mind of focusing on manipulating your hands to just allow you to relax more and concentrate more on the sensations being created by the massager itself.

Personally I would CAUTION you about the possibility of doing yourself DAMAGE or INJURY utilizing the method you described. A number of years ago when I was first learning about anal play, prior to my knowledge about the Aneros device, I inadvertently injured my prostate employing what can best be described as a vigorous self massage using a G-spot wand massager. I had a very strong orgasm as a result of that session, but I also got BLOOD in my ejaculate. I was sore for more than a week until I healed. I have since learned to be more respectful of my body and its limitations. I would like to spare you from experiencing a similar pain.

The Aneros is designed to be manipulated utilizing the body's musculature ONLY! Applying or employing other forces to increase pressure/stimulation is DANGEROUS! Please heed this warning to prevent injury to yourself. Good Vibes to You !
