Did you use an electric trimmer, or a bladed razor?

What odd impulse made you do this?

Razor. No idea. I've done it before but not quite as close. Why is it an odd impulse? I often shave my genitalia without issue for many years, just never my ass.

"Odd" as in atypical, not like abnormal or bizarre. Just trying to understand the reason. Maybe there's a benefit to having a hairless ass thatI'm not clued in on.

I have recently started shaving around my nipples. The fur was getting in the way of enjoyable stimulation.

I too have shaved my junk since I was a teen. I got fed up with condom removal plucking dozens of hairs out, but now I just like being smooth.

No razors for me, though. Just a simple bikini trimmer.

@PSLabs, I don't know about Sorena_, but I have a really hairy ass. ...Some fur probably goes inside with the Aneros (I've never looked). So I've been thinking about shaving or even getting a personal electrolysis device to permanently get rid of any that could go inside. ...Other than that, I won't shave anything.

Witch Hazel, Tea Tree Oil, et. al., will help. If you have someone who can touch your buttocks, have them carefully lift any hairs with a sterile pin that start to burrow into the skin. Then carefully pluck them out, so when they grow back, they won't be so coarse and blunt.

I've switched to my wife's VEET. I'll start at the pubic bone and carefully work all the way back. I tend to make my own He-Man underoos covering my buttons and thighs. I'll also lay down about 3 layers to make sure I get everything. Just lay one layer all the way around so the chemical can do it's smelly magic. Make SURE to be dry first and MAKE sure to keep it away from your orifices. You do NOT want to apply, remove, wash and re-apply; you will feel a stinging sensation if you do.
You may still get ingrown hairs but definitely easier to remove hair in your crack.
As for why? It's simple for me, hygiene. Less wiping, easier Aneros insertion. I am not a sweaty or hairy person but even a little hair changes how much stuff gets stuck there. Plus my wife likes it.

Been there done that. Shaving was all the rage here in 2009-2011.

I've settled on a 'close crop' --- all body hair at about 3/8 to 1/2 inch. 3+ razor comb on my Conex or a pair of thick combs on the Body Groom). Feels good in the shower with my Men's Dove body wash.

Stands up nicely when my wife brushes it during foreplay. Easy to penetrate with a 'spritz' of Cruex. Just the right length when I brush my Triceps or Testicles.

@Engorged, same here. I like the Veet best; seems to remove hair better than the others for me, with the least burning. I'm not sure why, but about the only place I have groin hair any more is near the front of the hip sockets, and on my penis (adult circumcision - long story). I have nearly none on my sac and around/above my penis. The hairs near my nipples are so fine and few, that I can pluck them with tweezers. When I can find them.

That's the thing exactly... it's all about the acclimatization of your skin. I shave my testes & junk for like 10 years now and barely have any issues. Totally different story when I began that habit or when I began shaving my face in my teenage years. Or when I try to change my shaving products. Your skin needs time to get used to it. So the occasional shave is usually far more problematic than the regular shave.

Side Note: your testes have a very specific skin that can take much more of a "beating" than for example your armpits. Same goes for the local area of your anus, but the skin type changes the more you come to the cheeks. You know, the type of skin that has a naturally darker color and is often targeted by anal bleaching - that skin is rather insensitive and more durable.

I don't know where your ingrown hair exactly is, but if it's in a rather remote place, you may shave only the close area around you anus next time.

In my personal experience while attempting to attain a smooth hairless butt and anal area I found that shaving only about an inch or two radius from my anus was ok but if I went beyond that my skin tended to get very itchy and red after a few days when the regrowth would happen.

The solution I found to the issue was to opt for a Brazilian wax. To be precise it wasn't actually "wax", but rather a process called sugaring. Instead of hot wax the aesthetician uses extremely thick caramelized sugar to adhere to the hairs before removing them. The process is much more efficient than waxing. Sugaring is also better for your skin because the sugar only adheres to dead skin, unlike wax - your skin is extremely exfoliated but not damaged by the process.

I know it might seem like an odd process to undergo but to tell you the truth it wasn't that big of a deal having someone remove the hair from my nether region. And the feeling of smoothness made it all worth the while, no doubt about it. The hair doesn't start to grow back for about 3-4 weeks. The pain was minimal and each time I go back for another treatment it hurts even less because the hair becomes softer and more fine with each removal.
