I've had hemorrhoids since about 3 weeks ago, but pretty much all the discomfort's gone and I think it'll be cleared up soon. I've been eating more healthy food and more fiber, keeping my bathroom visits to just a couple of minutes, and am using ointment and suppositories. Is it ok to have sessions though? Or how would you know if you shouldn't? Should I use the Peridise models instead? Maybe should I just try it out and stop if it irritates things?

FWIW, I found that the narrow neck Aneros tools cleared mine up. Well, they appear to have diminished. The SGX was especially helpful and nice at the same time. Initially the large necked tools made matters worse. A lot depends on the type of 'rhoid, the model Aneros you were using and where the 'rhoids were. I only post because you said they were mild.
My occasion 'roids, prior to Aneros, have all but disappeared! My Eupho seems to be just the ticket in my opinion!

Helix, eupho, or peridise with Vaseline or roid cream. Keep the sessions to a minimum.
I haven't been having sessions at all since the initial flare up. Maybe I'll try a session tonight with the helix syn.
@Jspad,If you have the appropriate tools, I'd suggest you follow the advice from @isvara, @Theme_Gasm and @braveneworld.
Personally, I have found that the Peridise models do exactly as HIH suggest they do and, like the others here, the classic Eupho is a great alternative.
Not sure about the Helix, inserting and removing it might stretch the tissue and open up the wounds?!
Helic Classic cured in a week the ones i was having for months.

I had a session last night with the helix syn. I used the equate brand (same active ingredients as Prep H) hemorrhoidal ointment as lube. Honestly, I think it helped! It's quite a bit smaller than it was yesterday (it's an external one). Perhaps stretching the tissue of the anus helped to increase circulation to move the old blood out of the hemorrhoid? If I felt anything painful I would have stopped right away, but it didn't seem to irritate as far as I could tell. Nothing exciting happened in the anal region, but today sensations down are not as rare as before the session. I'm glad to get back to having sessions! Maybe I'll try didymus's frozen Peridise method in the future if I have internal discomfort.
My short experience has shown me that sessions with my Helix help my hemorrhoids to clear up.
I don't have the free time I would like for regular sessions but that is what I've experienced so far.

@Jspad, some further thoughts: if you have a SGX - MGX shaped tool it might be more helpful as the neck narrows then widens a bit as to connects to the PTab. I always return to these for maintenance. This widening may gently press against the rhoid and reduce it. Helix type tools are different. Some rhoids appear on the outside but originate between the sphincters. I think for these provided they go in when inserting the Helix shape is okay. Later if you use the wider necked tools having taken them out tighten up the muscles to close the sphincters sphincters properly.
The smaller diameter Aneros products with the gently curving necks like the Eupho (classic or Syn) and the Helix Syn do the best on helping mild 'rhoid flare-ups and preventing new ones in my case. The larger diameter products, which I might use but rarely, seem to make them want to prolapse a bit from my sphincter and flare up.
So if you have a mild flare-up, or I'd even say a more serious one, use of the smaller diameter Aneros tools promotes earlier healing. Some Preparation-H or similar hemorrhoidal ointment on the surface of the Aneros is really comforting and helpful too.
