I have thoroughly perused the Aneros site and forum, and have been considering the purchase of a unit for some time now. I will most likely buy a Helix model within a few weeks, and I am eager to begin the journey...
However, I do have some concerns. I have not been able to achieve very much prostate stimulation in the past (either through my own finger, a vibrating massager, a vibrator handled by another, or a rude boy). While I have enjoyed myself through most of these efforts, my prostate just doesn't seem to be very sensitive. A vibrator in conjunction with penile masturbation has produced some nice orgasms, but as soon as penile stimulation stops, my prostate sensitivity rapidly declines (and the whole effort tends to dampen my arousal).
With these experiences in mind, I don't know how much I could expect from an Aneros. While vastly appealing, the notion of a hands-free prostate orgasm doesn't seem like a real possibility for me. I do think that the Aneros offers some major benefits that my previous experiences lacked: namely, that it stays in place on its own, so I would be more free to concentrate on my arousal and more able to focus on subtle sensations. Can anyone help to assuage my concerns?

Aneros prostate massage is the opposite of this approach - instead of attempting to apply coarse mechanical stimulation to the penile / rectal nerves, the goal of the Aneros products is to increase the existing neural feedback from these nerves. In other words, the goal is to increase sensitivity to stimulation, instead of just applying it.
From personal experience I'd say it works very well - once you've learned to focus on the improved sensitivity, you can produce considerable pleasure by merely gently working the PC muscles, even without an Aneros inserted.
If the money back guarantee is available to you, go for the MGX model, so you don't have to stress yourself with whether you've made a solid investment.
Hello La Petite Mort and welcome -- may
The first p-spot tool that we added to our toybox was a vibe and the results were as you describe. During a search for something that would stay in place, a local toy shop suggested a Helix. That brought an "END" to the search. 🙂
Rod says it quite well. Always look for the subtle and allow (rather than try to encourage) those to grow. This game is played, "in the space between your ears."
Happy St. Valentine's Day !!

LPM,
You can use the Aneros in conjunction with penile stimulation to amp up a traditional orgasm (ejaculation). This approach is consistent with some of the toys that you've played with in the past. The more powerful use of the device involves putting penile stimulation aside (avoiding it completely during these sessions) and focusing on an arousal pathway that is dormant in most men. As Rod and Rook have mentioned, producing an orgasm in this way involves far subtler methods than with an ejaculation. Know that this will likely take some patience on your part as you learn more about your body and begin to tune into these new sensations. But if you are one who can delay gratification for a time in service of a greater return, you will be handsomely rewarded.
Enjoy,
BF Mayfield
