How does the prostate feel?

I stuck a finger up my bum trying to find it but I'm not sure. Do you actually feel it through the mucous membrane or only when you press on it? There was a place which felt different when I pressed on it but I didn't really feel much. Should you feel a bulge under the membrane or what? And I also noticed that there were some small brownies in there which wasn't that good... :confused:
I wonder why is there fecal matter without me having to go to the toilet?

Unless your fingers are long or your prostate is located close to your anus and you have good flexibility to contort yourself, you may find self examination difficult as it is awkward to perform this type of procedure on yourself.

Small bits of fecal matter in the rectum between regular bowel movements is perfectly normal and nothing to be concerned about.
