How do I contract ONLY the PC muscle? I can't seem to isolate it from my anal contractions.

Basically exactly how it sounds. I am having trouble flexing and contracting my PC muscle, but when I get it, my anus contracts too. Even when practicing with urine flow, the anal muscles contract with it.

How do I isolate them?

You might ask yourself, "Why do I want to isolate these muscles? Am I trying to build strength? Am I trying to build stamina?"

It is not necessary for you to build mass or strength in either of these muscles - you're after a new level of awareness so that you can begin to tell what's going on. In my opinion, your ability to relax those things is far more important than being able to kegel 75 lbs.

Try this - when you urinate, make sure you're standing up, and after the flow starts, SLOWLY cut off the flow. Do it several times, but SLOWLY. Don't try to be quick - awareness grows at the speed it grows. It can also be kind of painful to cut off the flow too quickly.

Best of luck to you - happy motoring!

We all have own quirks with our own pathways. One man's meat is another man's you know what...
For me, this a good question because I think it helped me. I like to squeeze the pc muscles until the action starts and then follow up with progressive anal contractions. Train yourself A-less. Eventually you may find this technique works well with the slightly bigger, less manoeuvrable tools like the pro jr.
It's a case of practice and more practice. If you persevere you will do it and it may help you too.

@Kylezach. Listen to Crimsonwolf' advice about the "exercise" and the "need" to do them for your journey to get going. When you can isolate the action you make to hold in gas from the action he describes of slowly stopping your urine stream, you will have allowed your body to make that distinction. Doing contractions of either or both of the muscles IS helpful for us old guys with prostate issues (that Aneros use does help with in any case). There is a mobile app from a site prostateaerobics.com that I have used to help strengthen those muscles and occasionally (heh, heh) to practice some Aless maneuvers when I could..

First, most of us have been there and were convinced that the pelvic floor was just one long stretch of neglected muscle.

Thread has superb suggestions and are based upon the same guidance provided by my Urologist to his E.D. patients (based mostly on starting with the Urine cut-off) technique. Rather than standing at a urinal, take a few more moments, find an empty stall in the men's room and focus on your kegels.

If you are married with children, your spouse probably used Kegels, post-partum to strengthen her pelvic floor and provide you with that "little squeeze" during intercourse. Enlist her expertise in helping you identify at least two sub-groups in your PC complex and isolate on each. Learn to not be squeamishwith fingernails playing your perineum.

My Uro asked for 20-50 repetitions of each sub-group upon arising, before retiring and at 10, 2 and 4.T

Post-graduate exercise: Learn to take voluntary control of your Cremasters, raising and lowering your testicles. This is tough as the Cremasters are intended to respond to body temperature.

Hi guys,

Would you say that a well-exercised and trained PC muscle has elasticity? Mine is and helps greatly in my session and Aless!

I began doing Kegel (and deep breathing) exercises a few months before getting my Helix, per book "Multi Orgasmic Man". Found out about the aneros at tantra.com, they recommend it as a shortcut to help separate orgasms from Ejaculation.

The rapid progress I've been able to accomplish (had no prior anal play experience) I'm sure was aided greatly by the Kegels and Deep breathing I did before getting my Helix. Would not be where I'm at now with out them.

Recently have had great aless sessions, this AM had 10-12 wonderful O's aless before I got up. Although I do not do PC clenches to get the prostate going Aless I do find my PC muscles gently massaging the prostate, deep belly breathing also aids the stimulation. Without the PC muscle strengthening accomplished prior to finding the aneros I doubt if I could use my muscles that effectively to get these feelings.

Now that I'm in the O zone, aneros & aless, I'm going to:

1. Incorporate these new skills more into my sex life with my wife. She has not yet been able to get into aneros usage, however with the new aless skills I suspect she is going to love it when she discovers she can make me have multiple O's with very little effort. If things go well she will learn to accept the aneros eventually, she is very old fashioned.

2. Learn to move this newfound sexually energy to other parts of my body, chakras perhaps, other areas perhaps. More tantra like experiences is my long term goal.

You can't contract your so called "PC muscle" entirely by itself with no anal sphincter contraction, but by practicing the gently-cutting-off-urine-midstream described above you can develop the capability to do an effective degree of contraction of the "PC muscle" with little anal sphincter contraction. I "focus" my mind on my bladder sphincter muscles gently pulling in with them while lying very quietly which helps this.
