I ordered an aneros Syn a few years back, but I got impatient with it and gave up. I got rid of the Syn and forgot about the whole thing.
I have recently been giving thought to purchasing another Syn and giving it another go. This time I thought of trying The Do Nothing Approach and letting the Aneros Syn do her thing.
I was also on anti depressants which I have heard can effect the sensation of the Aneros, but have come off them.
I thought of trying the approach just as I'm lying in bed ready for sleep and keeping a blog which I did not do last time.
I did try all sorts of variations a few years back, watching erotic films, trying to visualize, listening to Alana ( she has a lovely voice and the the CD did relax me).
I have tried to learn visualization skills but cannot do it.
I do have an idea though, might sound bizzare, I have thought about imagining the Aneos itself as a kind of lover, and focusing on the sensations this new lover can give me, not trying to force things, but just let her have her way with my body and make a note of any feelings or senations she gives me.
It will be just Mistress Syn and myself. She will take the lead and I will do nothing!
What do you guys think? I also believe I am a lot more mature when it comes to using the Aneros and more understanding and patient, what do you guys think?

Your approach is good and I would say hold on to that. You could also think about making yourself vulnerable and surrender to the aneros. Don't put the aneros in while sleeping as well. There are a few tips that I can give you:
1. You need to be truly relaxed! Yes, I know this had been said like a billion times here, but sometimes you think you are relaxed, but you just aren't. I realised and learned to truly relax by listening to erotic hypnosis tracks. Try it and start with Nikki Fatale. Look on the web which tracks of her are best for beginners. She has a nice, sexy and soothing voice, but she is also less direct. There are some erotic hypnotists out there that have some 'extreme' submission femdom tracks. Nikki Fatale isn't like that. It's femdom, but not so 'extreme' that it becomes uncomfortable. It may take some practice listening to erotic hypnosis tracks, but when it works and you are susceptible to erotic hypnosis, you will learn not only how to truly relax, but also how to let the sensations generated by the aneros go wild and go on and on, which is needed to go from p-waves and regular O's to Super O's. After you have learned how to truly surrender and relax it is advised to stop erotic hypnosis.
2. Be aroused! This has also been said like a billion times on the forum. Arousal is not simply having an erection. Mental arousal is also needed for the aneros, not only fysical arousal. Erotic hypnosis helps with this. Think about your fetishes and fantasies and try to use them to reach new heights and give you the push you need.
3. Let go! A problem that I experienced and could still sometimes experience in the future (I recently had what I think was a Super O so I don't know if I really am rewired and I also don't know if I can replicate the incredible session I had easily) is the ability to let the build up of sensations last long enough to reach a Dry, Prostate, Anal or Super O. Listening to erotic hypnosis tracks that work for you helps you to go into a trance and helps you truly relax, which helps you to let the build up of sensations last long enough for you to reach a Dry, Prostate, Anal or Super O.
4. Don't be so impatient! This also has been said like a billion times. Impatience forms some sort of a barrier when trying to reach a new breakthrough or when trying to reach a Super O. Like every journey things and steps take time. Treat yourself to every sensation, but don't lose sight of what you want. Also count every breaktrough as a breakthough and let it give you hope on reaching a Super O.
5. Write down your experiences! This can help you remember experiences and sessions that were succesful. By doing this it could become easier to remember and use succesful choices, but also findings you made in particular previous sessions. Replicating succesful choices and findings can help you on your journey to reach the next step.
6. Research! This has two aspects. The first one is reading experiences of others on the forum and what they did. Try to think if something someone else tried would work for you or not. If you don't know try it out and find out. The second aspect is that sometimes things you try out don't result immediately in progress or new sensations that would lead you to a Super O. This does not necessarily mean that the thing that you tried won't work for you in the future or is not the thing you were looking for to reach another breakthough or Super O. Researching means you know for certain the thing you tried works or doesn't work. Sometimes a certain position for example feels good, but doesn't enhance the sensations of the aneros. When this happens it doesn't mean it will not work in the future and maybe the position you feel comfortable, but doesn't generate any sensations at the time may work if you combine it with a different way of thinking or arousal level. Be thorough in trying things out and figuring out what works for you and what not. So don't try many different things back to back!
7. Less could be more! Don't think that you always have to use contractions to reach a Super O. Using contractions could impede your ability to relax. Contractions may feel good, but if they impede your ability to truly relax you may want to reconsider using contractions. Try to use the 'do nothing technique' if you are not able to relax while using contractions. Again try to find out what works best.

Thanks qaws. I still have the hypnaerosession CD may be I should give Alana another go. The problem is with me is that I work nights. The hypnaerosession CD was so effective it put me to sleep so I never even got to do anything. It was okay at first, but the more times I listened the more effective it was. I was also never able to take my sexual fantasy with me on the CD or imagine my prostate as a glowing ember.
I tried watching pornography for visual stimulation, but not the kind that showed any penetration or penis function, more female masturbation. It got me aroused, and I did some light contractions and it felt nice, but nothing more. I found I was becoming addicted to the pornography which was not good.
The problem is if I were to use any kind of hypnosis and close my eyes then I'll be out for the count.
I also have problems trying to visualize things, I have purchased tapes, books on the subject, but nothing has helped.
I have also thought about purchasing the prostate cushion or something like that and just rocking back and forth on it while watching TV. Obviously there must be a little more to it than that.
As regards to relaxation my body must be surely relaxed for the CDs to send me to sleep in the first place
My problem is I only really get one day when I am completely awake, which is my day off and I'm busy catching up then.
If anyone has any more advice then please feel free.
You don't need to listen to erotic hypnosis if it doesn't work. The point is that you need to learn how to truly relax and surrender, without falling asleep. Also, don't use the aneros when tired. That simply works counterproductive. I would recommend using the do nothing technique first and see how that works out. If it doesn't than you can try out contractions. Good luck!
I don't have anything to add to qaws excellent suggestions. I do have personal experience with taking antidepressants. I took zoloft for years and it suppressed my libido to the extent that I could barely get a hard on. I switched to wellbutrin and celexa a year ago and I immediately began to feel sexual again and to feel all the emotions that the zoloft had suppressed. Apparently they were somewhere in my body waiting for release. About this time I started with aneros and my arousal was bumped up 100 fold! it took me a while to rewire and have dry orgasms though. Recently I dropped the wellbutrin and my sessions and sex life have improved (I had no sex with anyone on antidepressants for years!). My point is that antidepressants are powerful inhibitors of sexual drive, arousal and activity. Good that you discontinued yours for that reason as long as you can live without them. Which one were you taking? Have you had any negative reactions to discontinuing it? Have your sessions improved since you stopped? I wish you well in your exploration.
