From the Core

I've been going to a chiropractor for my lower back pain problem. The doc said my issues are related to improper breathing patterns I developed along with a disengaged core. An example is, while laying flat on one's back, raise one leg a couple of inches. Notice the effort required and then when the core muscles in the stomach are tightened the leg raise seems almost effortless. I have exercises designed to rewire my brain to activate my core subconsciously, a process he says will take about 6 weeks.

When I practice my deep breathing and core activation with an aneros inserted, the contractions immediately begin while creating the tug-of-war effect. The core muscles want to push the unit out while the contractions want to bring the unit back in. I normally start my sessions with a relaxation cycle that takes several minutes as I start with my feet and work up to my head. I'm barely able to finish now before the fun starts.

For those into energy flowing as I am, I used to think the prostate was the center of the energy creation but now I believe it starts in the core and my focus on the prostate cases the energy to flow there first then outward to the rest of my body.

I don't quite understand all this just yet and the process while learning is most satisfying and has taken my sessions to another level. If others have input, please share.

Interesting Heizen. How is your core activation going? Does it help you with that to be riding while exercising? I have a weak lower back too that I've been working on with acupuncture and chigung. My chiropractor didn't tell me about core activation but gave me exercises. What exercises do you do?

My teacher told me that the area below the navel, the tan tien, is considered the energy center of the body with energy flowing in through the feet and top of head. The area above the naval, the solar or celiac plexus, is another energy center. It makes sense that you would feel energy coming from there. Have you had an orgasm there? I'm also new at this like you and exploring so your experience interests me.

The exercises are yoga moves i guess. Not so much to build up strength as it is to activate these muscles and getting them involved again. Sorry I'm not much help there.

What I found interesting is the chiropractor used the term "rewire my brain" so the muscle and core activation happens automatically in the subconscious. He has briefly touched on energy flows. Before my aneros journey began, I probably would have labeled him a quawk and gone elsewhere.

Just a wild guess and throwing it out there....could the reason why some newbies charge quickly out of the gate and find the Super O sooner than others. They have their core activated subconsciously which creates the tug-of-war method ,(so often referred to on these boards) which for me kicks in the involuntaries thus starts the party in my pants.

I'm going to continue experimenting with this. I just need to be careful doing so. If I get to much in my head then nothing happens, dud sessions.

@Heizen

I don't mean to derail the thread, but I've been thinking about going to a chiropractor also, for a different problem. It's a virtually constant (24/7) sensation of pressure in my head, which i've had for years. I've seen a neurologist and got tested for it and all, so anything serious is ruled out. Which leaves a good probability that this is muscle tension/poor posture/stiffness. I'm wondering if a chiropractor could help.

I'm aware this is a strange place to inquire or perhaps inappropriate seeing as this thread is about you.. but I thought I'd ask anyway, lol. You guys seem to have experience with this stuff.

cheers

I for one would love to have links or descriptions of these exercises, if that is not too much trouble.

Bartolo99. I'm not a doctor, nor do I play one on TV. If I had the symptoms you describe I would give it a shot if nothing else has been working. If you are like me, I've developed bad habits over the years. My personal issues may be caused by the fact I have flat feet since childhood and after many miles of compensating for this is taking its toll.

The first thing they worked with me on was breathing properly. Sounds so simple yet I was only using my upper chest area instead of deep breathing which raises my stomach and abs area. The doc said that when the "bag" (my term not his) is fully inflated it naturally supports the back and spine.

Inforit - there are many yoga exercises to support the core found in a Google search. However if you are addressing a specific medical issue I would due so under doctor supervision.

Regardless of the reasons for activation of the core, it makes aneros sessions more pleasurable for me and I would urge others to try it too. Since repetition is the key to rewiring how can it hurt to activate the core during sessions also? IMHO

My favourite chiropractor is Dr John Bergman: https://www.youtube.com/user/johnbchiro/videos
He's sometimes a bit too hippie for my tastes, but has a lot of wonderful videos about body health, food, posture and the role of the nervous system in many diseases. He gives alternative ways to treat these diseases, without having to rely on chemicals (or big pharma) to get rid of the symptoms.

Not trying to advertise here though. His videos have helped me a lot over the last year, so I bet some of you might be interested as well. 😀
