This is my first post although I have been reading for a while.

First a little background I bought my MGX around 3 - 4 years ago, and I seldomly tried it, needless to say I had very poor results, if any at all.

I became frustrated by it and I seriously considered dumping it in the garbage, but I guess I always had a little faith so I stored it and forgot about it for a few years.

Recently (In July) I moved from my apartment and in the moving process I stumbled with the MGX and I decided to give it another go, thats when I returned to the forums and I did things differently this time.

1) I took meditation lessons in the time I wasnt using the aneros so the whole relaxation stuff is something I do everyday with or without a session in mind.

2) Lubing up (What could I say that hasnt been said before)

3) I think this is the main difference in the results, I lowered my expectations to just enjoying whatever the aneros could offer me.

And now the results:

Over the next months, is now November so it's 5 solid months I have been having a lot of different positive sensations.

From the first time I actually sensed the aneros massaging my prostate, discovering what the whole contraction deal whats all about (I am not an english native speaker so it took me a while to actually make it work the right way) to actually starting using the do nothing technique I have had a lot of pleasure from my aneros, don't know if its a mini, dry, super or whatever all I can say is that it made me a believer until...

One day suddenly I couldnt get any sensations at all, It wasnt disconforting or anything just plain disappointing again. But I wasnt willing to let all the progress go to waste so I purchased the Helix Syn. (I hereby certify I do not work for this company XD)

So I got my new Unit I started using it with Amazing results, stuff I never felt with the MGX. I was excited to use it and everything but in the last four weeks I guess my body stopped being so much into the Helix and I had a couple of dull sessions, so I switched back to the MGX and OMG this week I have had the best sessions ever, I felt very strong pulsating movement on the aneros, the engorging of my prostate and a feeling of light numbness/electricity starting in my anus area to the legs, and all the way to my upper body with a blast of pleasure when it reaches my head I dont know if this is a Super O, I dont care this feels really really good.

So thats my story and here are my questions:

a) Has anybody else felt that the aneros suddenly stops working from time to time?

b) I have read on the blogs that during a session people change models when its the best time to do so?

Thank you folks in advance!!

Yes, I've noticed this effect. I liken it to muscle memory when working out. You have to change your workout routine from time to time if you want to keep building muscles otherwise your muscles become acclimated to the workout and stop getting stressed and getting bigger/stronger as a result. I think the Aneros and the inner muscles it stimulates works the same way. Using only one model over and over creates a kind of prostate/rectum/anus/perineum memory that desensitizes all these parts. So, keep changing it up. Also, do a session, take a couple hours break and then go at it again. The second one is always ramped up.

I think I agree with @newguy.

I ignored the MGX for the best part of three years, tending to concentrate on the Helix and Eupho models. On rediscovering the old MGX, I came in for the most amazing reawakening.

Now, I don't think of any model as a dud, or even less worthy than any other. I'm currently having a great time with my Maximus and have the VICE and Progasm Ice lurking in my toolbox to give me a surprise some time down the track.

Variety is indeed the spice of life!

Recoil - Thanks for your comments. I agree with you: "

I have had a similar progression this week. The last session I had a feeling the unit was somehow in control of my scrotum and genitals, in addition to the feelings you expressed. I am thinking the key is to try, to the extent I can, to withhold expectations. That's not my strong suit.

I spent my first year with just the progasm. I seemed to be getting good results along the way and had my first super o with it. Then not much was happening, so i switched to the helix which didnt seem to produce anything new. When i switched to the eupho things changed in a very good way. I had my second super o with the eupho. Most recently I tried my progasm with astonishing results, whew! It was quite a ride! lol. No super o, but wow it was all good! So yeah i defiinately agree, keep switching things up and keep your prostate on its toes.

@recoil - Welcome, and I'm glad you finally got around to joining us in posting here. 🙂

"a) Has anybody else felt that the aneros suddenly stops working from time to time?"

Yes. I own several Aneros models. And at any one time, there is always one model that is the "favorite". Meaning it works and produces results far better than the others. And then at some point in my journey it stops working so well. So I start experimenting with my other models until I discover the new favorite.

"b) I have read on the blogs that during a session people change models when its the best time to do so?"

I don't know that there is any right or perfect time to change models during a session. That's up to you. I've only recently started doing this a little more consistently for certain results rather than just experimenting with other models. Mainly going from large to small Aneros models. I usually swap out when the first one stops being as intense and pleasurable.
