About two months ago, I started using my Helix Classic again after a couple years away from it, following an unsuccessful first foray. Since then, I have had sessions about 3-5 times per week. My first small success was a fleeting, slow-motion burst of sensation from the area of my prostate using the Helix, but I could not figure out how to replicate it. The trick in that case seemed to be taking my attention off of the prostate itself and focusing on the way my anal ring felt wrapped around the toy. It was suggested to me that I might be suited to the Peridise, so I purchased a set of them and started using them (mostly the smaller one) exclusively for several weeks, having felt a little burned out with the Helix. To my surprise, I started getting tingling, buzzing sensations in my anus and perineum the very first time I used it. Getting it to go any further was hit-or-miss (usually how well I did was predicated on how aroused I was at the start of the session), but on two occasions I felt the feelings grow a little warmer and spread over my entire pelvic region, if only for less than a minute before fading.

A little over a week ago, a doubt took hold of me: was I do Kegels properly? I had been doing exercises daily for months now, but although I could isolate several muscle groups, it did not seem to be making any noticeable difference. A query to this board yielded excellent advice - many thanks to Unfug and everyone else! I found that I could replicate a little of the tingling I got with the Peridise by holding down a particular muscle centered just barely past the anus on the perineum, but deeper than the ones I had been focusing on - I think that is the levator ani, but regardless it seemed to work.

Yesterday, while I was laying on my side in bed, I felt just the slightest tingle without having done anything, so I decide to experiment a bit. By contracting that same muscle (and others at times to see what they did), I tried to cultivate that feeling. If I held a contraction there, I could get get a sense like something was expanding inside - that may or may not be my prostate since I am not sure that is the correct location. By contracting a different muscle farther up the perineum, I could get a similar (but less intense) feeling there as well. Either way, I felt certain that my prostate was sensitized, so I pulled out the Helix for the first time since I got the Peridise and inserted it.

So far I had relied on the "do nothing" technique, which felt like the best way, but this time I pulled in what I learned from the Peridise and Kegels and did contractions while it was inside. While lightly clenching that muscle above my anus, the elusive feeling of expanding tingles commenced, only to grow into repeated waves of pleasure that washed over my entire body up to my head. Of course, a few seconds in I adjusted my position just a little to be more comfortable, breaking my concentration long enough that the feeling passed as quickly as it came, not to return. However, those few moments elated me: as far as I could tell, those were my first P-waves. They actually do exist!

Hi @Bandwidth, I want to salute you on achieving your first P-wave. Since you are doing Kegel Exercises during your Aneros sessions and concentrating on your feelings, you are well on your way in your Aneros journey. Helix and Peridise are great Aneros models to work with. Look into getting an Aneros Tempo someday. It is awesome!

Hey @Bandwidth ,

We are glad to help. 🙂

It may be the deep transversus (the transversus has a shallow and a deep part). In fact, any muscle (or combination of muscles) can spark pleasure waves. It seems to me, that it's a bit random, which particular muscle will do the trick and that it differs from person to person.

While lightly clenching that muscle above my anus, the elusive feeling of expanding tingles commenced, only to grow into repeated waves of pleasure that washed over my entire body up to my head.

Congratulations, that's an important milestone you just mastered. All you have to do in this situation is to (successfully) let go and surrender.

Cheers, Unfug
