Dealing with frustration

I've had my Aneros helix for 3 months now and I use it fairly often, every month I may have a week where I use it 5 times in that week.
I've noticed that my 2nd attempt was the furthest I've progressed with my aneros.

I'm straight and had never really experimented anally before but on my 2nd session I achieved a low persistent twitching/throbbing of the aneros that was pleasant which I eventually lost a hold of and finished the session, I performed no conscious contractions and just relaxed, stomach down, legs apart, as I watched erotica to calm music.
I have never been able to come close to this since which is frustrating me and that frustration is holding me back.
If I could just repeat with a modicum of consistency what I have already achieved I'd not have any issues here and I'd happily play the long game to progress further.
But being unable to even remotely recreate one of my first sessions just makes me want to return my helix

What advice do you have to deal with the frustration of being new to aneros usage?

What advice do you have to deal with the frustration of being new to aneros usage?

The frustration you are experiencing is a very common phenomenon with new Aneros users, I advise giving yourself more time. You may be pressing for results, (5 times a week) may be too frequent. It is important to begin any Anerosession well aroused if you want to avoid a 'dud' session (please see Are you "aroused"?).

Being new to anal and prostate play can take time to respond to the subtle sensations this gentle form of massage generates. Eroticizing and integrating the new bodily sensations generated through prostate massage is a psychological challenge for some men. Anal play can be problematic, overcoming social taboos, behavior myths and stereotypical homophobia are just a few of the obstacles you may have to overcome on this journey (please see Identifying Obstacles to Progress). Whether you are straight, gay, bi-sexual or transsexual, if you have a prostate an Aneros can work for you but only if you have an open mind. A paradigm shift in thinking about what constitutes an orgasm is needed (please see What's an Orgasm?).

Success begins with the adventurous exploration of differing techniques to find the right combination to unlock the orgasmic vault. The Aneros experience is not a race or competition but a learning journey without an end point. Your current "Do Nothing"... regime may need to be adjusted. Trying different Body Positions and Contraction Exercises (also see Quick and Dirty Path to the Super-O) may yield more progress. Every man's journey is unique and the combination of techniques he employs will be unique as well.

Frustration is often the result of expectations not being met, when you start dropping your expectations I suspect your frustrations will abate with them. Patience is needed as you progress and it can take an indeterminate amount of time until you reach your first Super-O. In an older user poll (How long did it take you to cross-over to the Super-O?) more than 25% took longer than a year to reach that event but you may enjoy many, many pleasurable Anerosessions on your journey there. Patience, patience, patience... tune into the subtle initial sensations, be thankful for and acknowledge even the smallest pleasurable sensation. Optimize your Anerosessions by Identifying Facilitators to Progress and employing them.
Good Vibes to You !

Geez man, I've had it for years and I still haven't reached the "final destination". Relax, breath, enjoy the journey and throw any expectations out the window. One thing that sorta catapulted me into new and exciting advance stage was to pre-lubricated the anal canal with an applicator. So if you don't do that start doing it.

@AdaJ Welcome to Aneros, since that 3 months under ur belt maybe u can lessen the times that u use the device per week 1 or 2 times, instead of inserting a cold device put it in some hot water for
a few minutes to warm up, wear a sleep mask in which I find that puts me at ez during a session
